Robert Griffin Iii Is Scary Good

I think it's a fair point about the offense being tailored around Cam and that people might be trying to get rich twice following the cam model with RGIII. However, my opinion on RGIII has little to nothing to do with what Cam has done in Carolina. Trust me, I live 10 minutes from the stadium and watch them every week. RGIII just looks like a natural QB who can make all the throws with pinpoint accuracy AND is extremely mobile. Those two things rarely come together. I don't think an offense has to be tailored to his skills to succeed, the guys has all the tools to be extremely good in the NFL.

Honestly if RG3 and Newton came out in the same draft I would have RG3 rated higher than Newton,(not knowing what he did this year) strcitly a scouting view point..His arm is what puts him ahead of Newton he can make great touch passes something Newton is just starting to get down pat...RG3 is a special prospect
-
RG3 is a game changer and someone who would spark a team. He would fill the seats, and give this team a chance to win. Of course, we would never take him.

Wow, i don't know what game you were watching but he looked like a highschool QB...tremendous athlete and his quickness is amazing! but he missed multiple, wide open recievers, didn't look down the field in multiple instances, put his head down and ran way to much, got knocked off his feet or back on numerous occasions...honestly, all that is fine but the one thing i noticed was he isn't a leader. He constantly sits on the bench, doesnt try to pump up his defense and seems lost behind the line at times.
I will say this he will make an amazing politician in about 18 years, he carries his head high and wants something other players don't even undertand.
4 years in the NFL and goes down lame
I think he should try out for the olympics he seems amazingly quick on that first step...then again shorter people usually are quicker, though top end speed not so much.
-
He's obviously a great athlete and has a cannon arm. Other than the deep ball, I haven't seen great accuracy from him. His pocket awareness and instincts to run aren't very good. He was hit from behind multiple times and even fumbled. That brings up my next point. He is the same height as Colt McCoy and is much thinner. I also haven't seen the kind of toughness out of him that Colt shows. I see him getting injured early and often. He has Michael Vick potential but I can't see him staying intact long enough to be that good.
-
Also he plays in the Big 12 and Oklahoma is probably the only team that has a defense so I think his numbers and production is skewed a lot.
-
I'd take Griffin over McCoy.
At worst griffin is better simply due to arm strength. He can make all the throws with ease.
As for ceiling, Griffin's is very high. Colt is as good as he is going to get.
-
RG3 is the most overrated QB to come out of college since the great jamarcus russel.
that being said, it's almost a lock that you guys WILL take him.
just remember you heard it here first when you're crying again about your horrible draft picks.

RGIII is impressive. But under center with the Browns, he still will get smashed into the turf off the right side of the oline.
And he won't have open receivers usually, because Little will be double or triple covered.
For all of RGIII's excellent abilities... on a qb sneak in that bowl game? He didn't make it.
Because he didn't block, his oline got a bit stalemated. His rollouts to the right?
Forget it - the Browns can't lock up the right side long enough, or sometimes/often not at all.
If the Browns draft him, I'm fine with that. But I believe he'll learn behind McCoy and Wallace for a year.
That isn't any kind of dramatic impact player. No qb will be a star for the Browns without additional weapons on offense, and shoring up at RT. Joe Thomas says the growth of Pinkston is terrific, and Lauvao was a team captain.... nobody's perfect. But Pashos is a fine guy who really should play OG or backup RT.
I'm thinking RT in the draft - in the second round. Maybe even third... and Broyles was on the sideline last night, being interviewed, all smiles, still recuperating from his injury. Coples, DE? with the first pick?
and Broyles with the second? I'd go with that in a New York second. Or, maybe whatshisname, wr out of ND, if he has a great combine and the Browns are sure he won't be a character problem.
But Cam had bookend tackles with Carolina, and other weapons. He'd get his arse handed to him, too,
if he were with the Browns behind center.
It's time to finish building an NFL quality oline. Sign a solid RT in FA, I'm great with that. But Pashos just
can't keep up with the fast speed rushers anymore? at all.

the fact you can even compare RGIII to that big fat piece of crap and then say that the browns will take him when we've been all over the place shows how little you know. I feel confident your basing your opinion off the fact he's a black mobile QB.
anyway, I've been watching more and more highlights of the guy and I keep getting more impressed. I think the thing that makes a QB more than a "system quarterback" is the ability to read coverage schemes and make the right throws along with being deadly accurate making all the throws. I think reading coverage is a legit knock that he's going to have to get better at. But as for the accuracy, it's ridiculous. Hell, there was a point that he had more TD's than incomplete passes.

i do compare him to russel in the fact that i think he will become one of the biggest draft busts in recent history.........and i say the browns will take him because the browns have a horrible history drafting players.
and in no way did i even mention skin color.
if i were gonna mention a QB that reminded me of RG3's athletic ability it would be tebow (white, fast, elusive, quick) not russel (black, not fast or elusive, just big and hard to take down).

Finishing up your schooling shows character. I am not 100% sold on the dude, but this is a positive.

we should not take him. I dont like guys who rise up the draft in the last 3 games of there career..

He's been rising up the draft boards since his first game this season when he single handedly destroyed TCU. Even before then with his production before this season he would have been considered a 2nd or 3rd round pick but before this season no one considered that he would even come out.

Well since it's my winter break and I don't have much to do, I decided to carefully watch that offensive onslaught of a game that was Baylor v Washington to specifically watch RGIII do his thing. I have to say without being a total expert that what I saw shows that this guy is going to be an all pro, offensive machine at the next level. His foot work is great, he showed several times the ability to take the snap under center (a big knock on him), his throws looked natural and strong as ever. He was making all the throws that are going to be required at the next. Do I even need to get into his elusiveness? That TD run he had was incredible. I don't like really comparing but his arm motion reminds me of Vick so much, he flicks the ball and its just a bomb.
Now, many are bringing up the idea that he could go before Luck. What do you guys think? I highly doubt this would happen and the way the draft is currently assuming he declares RGIII will fall right into the browns lap. I guarantee in this post that the browns will be playoff contenders with RGIII under center should they take him, he's that good. Picture a more accurate Cam Newton with the speed of Vick, man it's amazing just to think about. Anyway, what is yall's opinion here?
