Walterfootball Mocks

When it comes to mock draft I mostly follow Walterfootball cause over that past two years it has been them, not ESPN, who have most accurately predicted where players would go. This week is a great update cause they have predicted that Washington trades down with the Rams to take RGIII, leaving us to take Blackmon. Take a look of the whole thing yourself.

More notible than us getting Blackmon is their prediction that we will take QB Ryan Tannehill from Texas A&M. I don't know much about this guy except for the fact he was a WR turned QB halfway though last season and ended this year with decent yardage, 61% completion percentage, and a 2:1 TD to INT ratio. Can anyone elaborate more on this guy such as the system he runs or just personal opinion.s

Tannehill wasn't a WR turned QB. He was always the backup QB behind Jerrod Johnson at A&M. Coaches thought he was such a playmaker that they wanted him on the field also, that's why they put him in at WR. Last year when Jerrod Johnson started sucking ass they put Tannehill in and he had a great run at the end of the year. This year he has struggled at times, especially trying to force throws. He is a big, mobile QB with an above avg arm.
Im wondering what this "significant foot injury" is that is keeping him out of the Senior Bowl is though. Might hurt his stock.

He ran a pro-style offense under Mike Sherman at A&M. Might give him a leg up especially if Sherman is still being considered for the OC job here.

Do you know why there may be credibility to the Tannehill acquisition possibility?: Because our new offensive coordinator may very well be Mike Sherman....and Mike Sherman was the Texas A&M HC who recruited Tannehill to A&M.

Honestly if Tannehill was an option, I would still rather take Minnefield with the second 1st round pick or a DE and then take Tannehill if he fell to us in the second. I think taking him in the first is just too soon.

I agree.

I wouldn't spend a high pick on a QB this year unless that QB is RG3.
Tannehill is NOT better than McCoy; he's at best equivalent. We would see much greater performance as a team if we improved any position other than QB with those picks.
Don't forget that the 2013 QB draft is stacked. If we luck into Blackmon this year, we should wait until 2013 to take the QB.
Spending 22 on one of the top DE's [branch, Ingram, Montgomery] or OL [Martin, DeCastro] would be amazing. I wouldn't hate a CB[ Kirkpatrick, Dennard] at that spot either. Sanders the OT from FSU might be 5-10 picks too soon.
If everyone's taken, we could implement The Ghoolie Principle and take Wright at 22 after Blackmon at 4.

I keep up on this site constantly and saw this earlier today. I have to say this would excite the hell out of me. We need another quarterback to have in waiting if/when McCoy can't get the job done and I have serious doubts about RGIII.

Trouble is, with the fourth round pick.... they take Adcock as the RT.
NFLdraftscout says: "He doesn't look very good when asked to get nasty and overwhelm defenders in run blocking, though."
I would rather pick the kid I picked in the third round.

I like the size of Tannenhill, but how is his arm strength and accuracy and release ? What is with the foot injury ? Why cant we go after an LB like Burflict ? Is Tannenhill an upgrade over Colt ?
Somehow I was hoping for a FA QB

Tannehil is a project. At the next level, I don't have much confidence he is able to start for a few years.
He has skills. but I'd take Wilson this year? or next over him, no question.
He isn't any upgrade over Colt, except maybe a stronger arm. But his decision making
in the pros is a worry.
Burfict is Suh with less self awareness and discipline. He may not be all that smart.
He's such a loose cannon with outrageous, self and team destructive plays....
I don't know. A lot rides on his combine interviews. His stock would be way higher,
if he only had some smarts and character. He has been benched for hurting his team
with really stupid, outrageously cheapshot plays. Forget him.

I don't know. I don't think it would hurt the Browns to get a little "nasty"....if the guy has the talent to go with it.
I mean, as much as we do bitch about Harrison, you would want a guy like that on your team....if you could coach the stupid out of him.
It is possible to reign in highly talented players who have attitude issues. It is not possible to infuse talent into a player that doesn't have it.
