Cleveland Curse Strikes San Francisco
-
I don't know. Perhaps in the stadium, perhaps in Berea, perhaps nowhere.
Do the trinkets matter?
The titles are there in history. Northeast Ohio has won 13 titles.
Is this just news to you? It is a fact that is only 90 years in the making. (But, if you must know, the years that titles were won by NE Ohio teams were 1920, 1922, 1923, 1924, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1954, 1955, 1964).
Might as well be 1764 for all the relevance it has now
Might as well be 1764 for all the relevance it has now
What is your point? Perhaps nothing prior to the last nanosecond of your life span has any relevence now. Why would a thread called "Cleveland Curse strikes San Fran" have any relevency in any fashion unless it is viewed with an eye toward history.
In all reality, the ONLY NFL title that has any relevency is this next one. Otherwise, they are ALL history, be it the one from 1920 or the one from 2010. They are all just another brick in the wall. Learn something about that wall, lest it come toppling down on your head.

cysko kid was conceived out of a test tube and is only 12 yrs. old. he was cloned from this guy/gal:

How very poetic, however in 2012 tom bradys superbowls have 1000 times the relevance of Otto grahams championships."Learn something about that wall lest it come toppling down on your head" give me a fucking break were not discussing the ramifications of the civil war here, you're trying to imply championships, some of them not even in the NFL, won in a time when there was hardly integration in the NFL and the few who did play had to drink out of a seperate fountain, are still as relevant as the super bowl era. That is ludicrous.
-
What does integration have to do with anything? Cleveland wasn't a team full of people from the African American culture that wasn't allowed to play against other teams. They played within the same parameters as every other team NFL of AFL from that era, the same way teams are supposed to play within the same parameters in the NFL today. Your point about integration is moot.
History is history, you can't try to say one point in the past is any more relevant than another point in the past.
-
the championships are pre super bowl era, and some weren't even in the NFL. They're all but irrelevant now. All I'm saying is they're not comparable to modern day super bowl championships

I'm not saying clevelands championships are irrelevant. I'm saying all of them are.

No matter what you guys come up with to validate this point, the fact is Cleveland has zero championships that anyone not on the browns board cares about.

You're on the browns board.

By your way of thinking the Civil War shouldn't even be counted as a war...after all, they only used muskets and cannons. They didn't have machine guns and atom bombs and killer drones.
By your way of thinking you would say that "Abraham Lincoln doesn't count as being a US President because he was elected in 1860, before they had TV."
The fact is, each championship in history has the exact same relevence....they are all history.
With such unadulterated ignorance on display are you sure you are not a Steeler fan? I have only ever heard such stupidity out of the mouths of Steeler fans.

Actually, that is even wrong. The Browns in the 40s and 50s had Black players on the team where the NFL teams did not. Paul Brown could care less about color. When NFL teams would not take Marion Motley, Paul Browns had him running over people.
And not only that, the star of the 1920 Akron Pros was Fritz Pollard...a black man. And he wasn't the only African American on the team. In fact, he later became a coach for them.
You really DO need a history lesson.

Obviously, you are fucking double dumbass wrong, or else you wouldn't be having an argument with every single poster on here over this.
God almighty....please FRAK your way over to the Steeler bandwagon.

I count at least 5 black faces in this photo of the 1950s Browns:

Thanks for the history lesson. You learn something new everyday.

Two completely incomparable things. Keep telling yourself how awesome the browns are when in fact they've won nothing. Even those 50s championships you keep going on about really, they belong to the ravens. I can dress up as George patton, but it doesn't mean I've won his medals.
Regardless of how you feel about that, the mighty mighty Cleveland browns trophy cases are empty with no lamar hunt or lombardie trophies.
-
Whatever you like gip. Just because you don't like what I say doesn't make me a steeler fan. Please point out one instance where I have ever, ever complimented the steelers on anything or you can go pound salt.

Oh, hey, let's make another thread with some asshole's mock draft.
