Didnt Kendall Wright just run a very slow 4.6 40 at the combine? I dont think that "flys past safetys and corners" even in the weak defenses of the Big 12.

4.41 40 for RGIII on a bum knee? Pretty damn impressive. He kills it in the interviews, he's rediculously smart. What's not to like?

What's not to like? What, are you Dan Gilbert's kid?

The answer is: the ridiculous asking price that the Rams and others on here think the Browns should pay to move up to get him.

I agree with that part, but it doesn't change what's not to like about him as a player and his future in the NFL. I agree that if the asking price is too high to move up than it isn't worth it, we have too many holes to fill to give up most of the draft for one player. I'm still hoping that Manning and Flynn go to Miami and Washington as free agents which eliminates two of our competitors for the #2 pick and makes it easier to trade less to move up.

dont you always like to say we're not privy to the actual inside info?

so then why are you taking a RUMORED asking price of 3 firsts like its gospel?

cause there's another rumor floating, that originated in berea, that our current offer is swapping 1st, include #37 and next years second, plus next years 5th. sounds like peanuts to me for a franchise QB.

stop being cheap....draft picks are renewable commodities. if you think a franchise QB is gonna fall into our laps, then look at our plight since our return to the league. if the fact that we've missed scared you to try again, then find another sport. cause either we keep trying until we find one, or we may as well conceed that we'll never win a playoff game.

Mr. T: what college program is the equivalent to an NFL club? if the reasoning is that he faced inferior competition to that of NFL caliber players, then that is also true of every single rookie this year and every other year. kendal wright isn't the burner you think he is.....i suppose its outta the realm that griffin was able to manipulate defenses with his eyes, since the misconceptions that he's never played under center or didn't read defenses became rampant. i know, i thought the same thing...until i listened up to a few people that knew alot more than I.

And choco that is a redundant question. You can find better QB's than RG3 and you will not have to mortgage your future on them.

RGIII is more accurate, faster, more elusive, throws farther, is taller, and has better field vision than Troy Smith. Just because they are black doesn't make them the same.

If we were to keep our picks there's no guarantee our 4,22,37 are not going to be busts, if anything the further back you go the risk stays the same while the payoff lowers.

Griffin is demanding such a high price because he's worth it, his potential is sky high.

We should have at the minimum 6 picks left in this draft after trading for RG3. If Heckert is as half as good as some of you guys on here believe he is then he should be able to find 2 or 3 solid starters from those.

The question is will H&H blow away all of their work from previous trades on one player.

Blown knee Rg3 is not worth the risk

Whoever takes RG3 had better hope that the mans farts will shoot lighting bolts out of his arse and knock the opposing players down. Maybe RG3 can throw the ball into the air and with one single leep he can use his super powers and fly to the endzone and catch the ball all by himself.

Meanwhile some reporters have seen Heckert spying on RG3 through the back window of a limo.

The only thing I'll say in Griffin's defense regarding the knee- Joe Thomas and Anthony Munoz had the same problem, and they turned out OK, no?

BTW, I'm totally with Gip on this one. I really like RGIII in a Browns uniform- but not if Snyder ramps up the bidding to a stupid level.

Sounds like he could drop to us at #4 since nobody else will draft a QB other than Luck possibly going to the Colts. So why blow away draft picks? This sounds like when Butch Davis wanted K2 and he blew away his whole draft. And where is Butchy today?

We are so close to having a contender and it takes more than one player to do that. IMO: We stay the course and it will work.

There's no way in hell (short of a car accident) RGIII drops to us. It's all over BSPN and the national sports wires. The Redskins are offering at least two first rounders for that spot. Even if the Rams get no better offers, you had better believe they'll take that in a heartbeat.

RG3 isn't a lineman, the comparisons weren't really all that useful in this case.

But I am solidly against trading up to get him.

lmao...wow, youre hopeless. i suppose since franchise QB's seemingly grow on trees, and there's so many others as good or better than griffin, care to explain why the demand for his services are essentially being auctioned off in public?

how exactly can this occur unless everyone with an opinion that matters seems to be enamored with the kid? the next prospect is tannehill....have you actually compared his scouting report to griffins? have you actually done any research that leads you to believe all the scouts and football people have completely whiffed on griffin? opinions are fine when you have some evidence to lead you to that conclusion.....but what do you have besides a misguided view that 1 black failed QB = every other black QB prospect?

wanna tell us where you dreamed up that non-sensical comparison to VY? compare/contrast their strengths and weaknesses for us....show us, then, that you did not, in fact, make the comparison based on race.

because otherwise, this is just another thread like all the others, that feature a misinformed fan that forms an opinion on misinformation and popular rumor/opinion, bitching and crying about how he/she is right despite providing nothing but weak and frail arguments, such as:

vince young failed, and so will griffin.

pretty serious stuff T...hope you didn't spend too much time thinking about that.

I like Colt, I'd like to add 3 more high-end picks to this team to see what we have in him.

I really want Chase Minnifield, we'd have Mighty Mouse and Might Minni Jr at CB.

If Hillis resigns, then the NEED for Trent Richardson goes WAAAAY down. This saves us a high pick early in the draft... I would still love to have him on our team but IF Hillis resigns then that position goes to the back burner.

It's rumored that the Browns have offered to swap the number 4 overall in addition to our second rounder and a fifth THIS year and a second and a fifth next year in exchange for the number 2 overall held by the Rams... Which isn't as terrible as I thought the trade would cost us. However, if we do this then we'd HAVE to draft Chase with the 22nd overall selection or we'd miss out on Minnifield since we've traded our second rounder. We could package our 2 fourths to move back into the third then package our two thirds to move back into the second and make a move for Minnifield there...

A draft like this would make me happy and by holding the number 2 overall "IF" the Colts decide to shock everyone and take Griffin over Luck than we'd be in position to take Andrew. If the Colts take Luck than I guess we make the media right and take RG3, I know it would make a lot of people happy but I'm not sold just yet. The idea is intriguing though I must say...

Whatever we do I think that we'll be a much better team than we've been as of late. We were in a lot of close games and I think after this draft we'll turn the corner and be a very successful team for many years... it's coming!

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one. -Mark Twain- "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." -Mark Twain-

it sounds like your in love with the player again....your tunnel vision is strong.

under no circumstances is chase a must have prospect. he's a CB, not a QB.

Chase is a Shutdown CB and his father is a LEGEND in Cleveland Browns History.

Frank Minnifield and Hanford Dixon are the #2 CB Duo of ALL TIME.

I see the same thing happening with Chase Minnifield and Joe Haden- they could be just as good.

He is a must have from that standpoint. Besides I reached and gave you your coveted QB at 2 and traded a bunch of picks for him and yet I cannot reach and grab a lockdown CB opposite Haden with the 22 pick? Hypocrite.

im the antagonist....ill glady take the role of devils advocate even if i dont agree with the point im arguing. why? cause im finding out that many folks around here have opinions based on either circumstantial evidence (thats often misinterpreted) or nothign at all.

like this last post....so frank minnifield was a great CB for the browns. does that mean his son will also be great? in your eyes, apparently. considered rationally, it means nothing who his father was. so what you saying is to make a decision based on name alone, to get this kid because his father was a good player. while i do not disagree with the pick, the reasoning is just terrible. real GM's do not make decisions like this....ya know why? its gets them fired.

mr savage was in absolute love with jamarcus russel....he just didn't have the firepower to trade up. phil got lucky and dodged a bullet, however, his propensity to overvalue talent was legendary, and led to his termination after several years of fucking up the draft. he traded up for quinn as well....perhaps as a PR move, but nevertheless, so very short sighted.

so again...how is chase a must-have from any standpoint? he certainly isnt because his father played for us. yes, clays boy seems to be good....but dont be so naive to assume that players born of other players will exhibit the same success. so beyond the fact his daddy was a brown, is there anything that makes him special over any of the other prospects in the 2nd round?

He is the spitting image of his father. They are exactly the same. Chase is a very good Cornerback, he grew up around the game. He stays in contact with Hanford and gets advice from him. He wants to come to Cleveland and win a Superbowl with us. He wants to be better than his father. If anyone knows how good Frank was I would bet it's his own child. If Chase thinks he could be as good if not better than his dad than that is good enough for me. All signs point to yes, he'll be a great player and even better flanked by the Pro Haden.
