If Clay Mathews played on a team in Cali or NY...or about any town not named Cleveland...hed definately be in...what are these assholes smoking?

I thought that possibly, until I did this research. Then I realized that his cred apparently didn't match up to some of his competitors for the HOF.

A key to most of the positions I have listed here, unlike offensive skill positions, is that you do not have the statistics, like TD passes, yards gained, catches etc. etc to compare....so you compare Pro Bowl appearances and All Pro selections. At least it becomes a major criteria.

Actually, they should induct Abe Woodson, Darren Woodson, and Charles Woodson all in the same year to go along with Rod Woodson who is already in.

Jared Allen 4 All Pro, 5 Pro BowlHas more time to add to his credentials.

Julius Peppers 3 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Dwight Freeny, 3 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Richard Seymour, 3 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

of the previous three, the one that breaks out with more Pro Bowls and All Pros could have the advantage

Michael Strahan, 4 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl

Leslie O'Neal, no All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Defensive Tackles

Kevin Williams 5 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Kris Jenkins 2 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Warren Sapp 4 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl

Michael Dean Perry 2 All Pro 6 Pro Bowl

Joe Klecko 2 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Gary Johnson 2 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Curley Culp 1 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Tom Sestak, 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Ernie Ladd 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

I always thought "The Big Cat" deserved inclusion, but he had off field problems that kept him out.

Roger Brown 2 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Alex Karras, 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Same here. "Mongo's" gambling that got him suspended for a year has kept him out, even though his fellow gambler, Paul Hornung, was let in.

The next list is of Offensive Tackles: (the first two are active)

Joe Thomas 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl. If he keeps on like he is JT will get in.

Jahri Evans 3 All Pro...but only 2 Pro Bowl

Walter Jones 4 All Pro, 9 Pro Bowl

Orlando Pace 3 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl

Jonathan Ogden, 3 All Pro, 11 Pro Bowl

Willie Anderson, 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Tony Boselli, 3 All Pro, 5 Pro Bowl

Richmond Webb, 2 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl

Jim Lachey 3 All Pro, 3 Pro Bowl

Marvin Powell 3 All Pro, 5 Pro Bowl

Leon Gray 3 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

Jim Tyrer 6 All Pro, 9 Pro Bowl

Dick Schafrath 4 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

With the dearth of guards and centers, Tackles get the HOF glory. By the way, Schafrath, Tyrer, and Pace all went to Ohio State.Who should be in?

Did I miss someone?

The next list is offensive guards. There is a bigger group to choose from here:

Offensive Guards:

Steve Hutchinson 5 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl

Alan Faneca 6 All Pro, 9 Pro Bowl

Larry Allen 6 All Pro, 11 Pro Bowl

Steve Wisniewski 2 All Pro, 8 Pro Bowl

Bill Fralic 2 All Pro, 4 Pro Bowl

John Nyland 2 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Gale Gillingham 2 All Pro, 5 Pro Bowl

Ed Budde, 2 All Pro, 7 Pro Bowl

Walt Sweeney, 2 All Pro, 9 Pro Bowl

Jerry Kramer, 5 All Pro...but only 3 Pro Bowl ??

Kramer has been considered in the past. What holds him back from having been selected is the fact that two other fellow linemen on those Packers team are in: Gregg and Ringo. Maybe the HOF didn't want to packed with Packers.

Ken Gray 2 All Pro, 6 Pro Bowl

Who should be in?

Did I miss anyone?

Along this line of thinking, I am going to post lists of potential Hall of Fame Candidates at various positions based on their Pro Bowl and All Pro numbers, starting with:

Centers

This category seems fairly weak. There are a couple of future candidates:

Kevin Mawae 3 All Pro, 8 Pro Bowls

Nick Mangold 2 All Pro, 3 Pro Bowl

Mangold is only in like his 5th year, and is considered the cream of the current center crop.

Who belongs?

Did I miss someone you can think of?
