Andrew Breitbart

  • Andrew Breitbart’s was of higher intelect and had more talent in his right hand than most political hack bloggers ever dreaned about having. Andrew could see right through the evils that the left represent and how the political agenda from the left wingers wanted to destroy our country.

Andrew Breitbart’s last message to the left

If you think about it, Andrew Breitbart’s untimely passing from this life, at age 43, might be seen as the ultimate message that this man of media could deliver.

Breitbart famously used his media talent, particularly his facility with new media and new journalism, to fight the agenda of the left.

And what could strike more effectively at the heart of the left’s premises than the inscrutable death of a young and prodigiously talented, successful man — a husband and father to four young children — who still was scaling the heights of achievement?

The inconceivable and unanticipated are the rule of our lives, rather than the exception. Nothing more clearly delineates the political left from the political right than appreciation of this fact.

The left, after all, is about the pretense of planning, power and control. It’s about the belief that man — political man — can define and control the world and can appoint himself the final authority to determine what is fair and then mete out justice.

The first words on this subject were spoken by the serpent to Eve about the prohibition on eating fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

“You will not surely die,” the serpent told Eve, “for God knows that on the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

In his new book, “Coming Apart,” social scientist Charles Murray provides a troubling snapshot of America, showing how the collapse of traditional values corresponds with our growing economic and achievement problems.

Murray quotes a 19th-century European immigrant to America, Francis Grund, who anticipated exactly what is happening today:

“Change the domestic habits of Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter of the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government.”

With today’s obsession about the growing gap between those who earn the most and earn the least, Murray looks at what is happening in white America, eliminating the variable of race. He shows that the elites — those earning in the top 20 percent — by and large still have intact families and have the lowest incidence of out-of-wedlock births and single-parent homes.

In contrast, communities earning in the bottom 30 percent have had high erosion since the 1960s in behavior reflecting traditional values, with marriage and family collapsing and high and growing incidence of out-of-wedlock births.

Although Murray just focuses on white America, his conclusions mirror what I have been talking and writing about for 20 years regarding the destruction of black communities by welfare-state government programs.

It’s not an accident that welfare-state growth took off in the 1960s, the decade of the sexual revolution, the pill and, shortly therefore, the legalization of abortion.

In this new culture of materialism, the politicians of the left claimed they could understand everything and solve all our problems — with other people’s money, of course.

They could build programs to eliminate poverty, eliminate the problems and vagaries of aging and deliver health care to everyone.

Now, today, these problems remain. Except now we’re hanging on the thread of bankruptcy, tens of trillions of dollars in debt, trying to substitute government and other people’s money to deal with problems that can only be solved by a free and responsible people.

The left hates Breitbart for his effectiveness in getting out the truth.

It’s the same culture that forces me to get police protection to talk about personal responsibility on college campuses.

The final irony is that truth and compassion come from humility, not pride. Sadly, a cold and cruel left will not grasp this truth from Breitbart’s unexpected death.

  • Huh?

And Hannity did show it last night. And everyone is laughing at how pathetic a "scoop" it was.

  • Okay you made me go to Alex Jones website to pull the video or whatever he is saying about it.

    Here it is.

Not the Video Breitbart Died For: Leaked Obama Vid Already Aired on PBS in 2008

    Prison Planet

    March 7, 2012

Will damning footage Andrew Breitbart intended to release March 1 ever surface unedited?

Media outlets are frothing at the release of video that shows now President Obama a radical Harvard rally supposedly demonstrative of racial division tactics he took part in. Indeed, Breitbart.com reports:

Earlier today, Buzzfeeds Ben Smith announced on Twitter that video researcher Andrew Kaczynski had released the mysterious Harvard/Obama/race video that the Breitbart folks have been talking about.

    Here is that video:

    Total dud.

Coincidentally the exact wording from new york magazine.

  • Okay, Steve, whatever. Apparently now I'm not taking my cues from Axelrod, but from New York Magazine.

    The story is a dud.

  • "What can you say about this?

    1. This shows the provincial state of American politics where the idea is to get something, anything to try discredit someone. Debating on policy ideas? Oh, that’s so 20th century..

    2. This major campaign revelation, it turns out, is not about Barack Obama so much as trying to discredit him by pointing to people who he interacted with at college. Did anyone vet the Taco Bell manager Obama chatted with while in college yet?

    3. Some blogs are already running posts about Bell. So let me get this straight: the more things that seem unpleasing about Bell from a certain person’s political perspective that emerge, the more that is supposed to make voters decide they can’t vote for Barack Obama?

    4. Although some may feel differently, the bottom line is that the bulk of Americans do not consider Barack Obama a dangerous radical who plans to remove the white and blue from the American flag if he’s elected to a second term. Many Democratic liberals feel Obama has turned out to be too moderate. Many voters may not like Obama, they may feel he was a huge disappointment, they may consider him inept, they feel he is too liberal for their tastes — but a dangerous, foaming at the mouth radical?

It’s one more example of how American politics now revolves around the small battles and mini issues — even battles that are synthetic battles, hyped up to be battles by partisans but of no interest to the average American. These battles can drive up website hits, they can drive up ratings on ideological political shows, they can boots the profile and/or speaking fees of those who push these synthetic battles and involve pushing partisans’ hot buttons.

But the average person will look at this and say: Who cares? So what? And why did you waste my time?"

You know when jon stewart find a half dozen or more conservatives using the exact same language he does a collage. And it's always side splitting funny, right?

  • I'll use "whiff" or "nothingburger" to make you feel better.

  • What a scoop:

"But there’s nothing new about the clip or Obama’s role in the controversy at Harvard Law School. In 2008, as a part of our quadrennial election special The Choice 2008, FRONTLINE ran the same footage of the speech as a part of an exploration of Obama’s time at Harvard Law School, where he graduated in 1991. It’s been online at our site and on YouTube since then.

    …

FRONTLINE producers obtained the footage from the same source as BuzzFeed did this week: the archives of WGBH, Boston’s PBS station. The footage was shot in 1990 by a team of local news producers for the WGBH Ten O’Clock News. FRONTLINE is produced at WGBH and our producers were alerted to the footage in the station archives in 2008."
