Will damning footage Andrew Breitbart intended to release March 1 ever surface unedited?
Media outlets are frothing at the release of video that shows now President Obama a radical Harvard rally supposedly demonstrative of racial division tactics he took part in. Indeed, Breitbart.com reports:
Earlier today, Buzzfeeds Ben Smith announced on Twitter that video researcher Andrew Kaczynski had released the mysterious Harvard/Obama/race video that the Breitbart folks have been talking about.

It’s one more example of how American politics now revolves around the small battles and mini issues — even battles that are synthetic battles, hyped up to be battles by partisans but of no interest to the average American. These battles can drive up website hits, they can drive up ratings on ideological political shows, they can boots the profile and/or speaking fees of those who push these synthetic battles and involve pushing partisans’ hot buttons.
But the average person will look at this and say: Who cares? So what? And why did you waste my time?"

But we already know that, correct, it's not a scoop.
We know the president has sidled up to some unsavory characters over the years in order to get a firmar grip on his base.
And sure lots of us were more radical when we were young and idealistic.

Obama Assigned Reading: Bell Says Whites Might Enslave Blacks
Back when Barack Obama was a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, he assigned Derrick Bells readings in class. In particular, he assigned the introduction to Bells book, Faces at the Bottom of the Well. Bells book was highly controversial, and for good reason: it contains some of the most inflammatory racial material in the critical race theory canon. And the introduction is chock-full of it. Open your hearts and minds to the words of Derrick Bell:
Slavery is, as an example of what white America has done, a constant reminder of what white America might do.
Or this:
Black people will never gain full equality in this country. Even those herculean efforts we hail as successful will produce no more than temporary peaks of progress, short-lived victories that slide into irrelevance as racial patterns adapt in ways that maintain white dominance. This is a hard-to-accept fact that all history verifies.
Or this:
In similar fashion, African Americans must confront must confront and conquer the otherwise deadening reality of our permanent subordinate status.
Why would Barack Obama assign this inflammatory racial nonsense to his students? Will anyone in the mainstream media ask him about it? Will anyone in the White House press corps ask Obama about his association with Derrick Bell? Dont count on it.

Let's not overstate things here. He wasn't forced out of office, and it wasn't by "a lynch mob." Funny choice of words when we're talking about a guy who was pining for the days of actual lynch mobs.
Lott was a former segregationist saying that he wishes the segregationist had won the presidency back in the day because then we "wouldn't have had all of these problems." He only lost his position as Senate Majority Leader, and was pushed out not only by Democrats, but by members of his own party who didn't want that to be the face of the Republican Party in the Senate.
The fact that this caused a problem is hardly a surprise.
Did I think that was appropriate, to lose his Majority Leader status and get Whip status instead? Sure. He went from the #1 Republican to the Senate to the #2. Probably about right. And then he served an additional five years before resigning to become a lobbyist and make money. So he wasn't "forced out of office." He was sanctioned.
