Redskins Have Made A Deal?

Would you rather be the number one overall pick and try to replace Peyton Manning while he is playing somewhere is in the league
or
Be the guy that just cost a team 3 1st rounders and a 2nd?

Number 1 replacing Manning in a heartbeat. If you bust at least they have some decent picks for the foreseeable future to clean up your mess.

Sorry man, I grew up on Sipe and Kosar ... if you think our current QB is going to win this division under any circumstance, then you are seeing things I don't.

Aren't we setting our bar a little LOW when talking about Brian Sipe and Bernie Kosar?!

I'm glad we didn't give up 3 first round picks and the second rounder for RG3. Too much of a gamble in case he doesn't pan out. If RG3 doesn't work out for Washington then that just set them back until 2015.
Go after Blackmon or Claiborne with the #4 pick and then either Lamar Miller or Kendell Wright with the #22 pick.

Couldn;t have said it better myself. rumor on espn is we didn;t want to add the 2nd rounder either way 3 1st rd. picks for hope is ridiculous... Any one who thinks that would be wise even if he does pan out has been playing too much madden...THANK YOU REDSKINS!
See you in 2018, that's how it took for the 49ers to get good with their NINE first round draft picks since 2005. "Build through the draft" - 57-62 (44-59 before this year) since 2005, while hitting on 6 of those 10 first rounders (Iupati, Smith, Davis, Willis, Crabtree, Staley), playing in the crappiest division in football. We were 10 games worse (about a game worse per season) over that same span, and we had a "GM" who couldn't draft his way out of a paper bag, playing in the NFC East. Context people. Having draft picks - hell, HITTING on those draft picks - doesn't guarantee shit.
Meanwhile, you're going to dumpster dive for a guy like Matt Flynn, or go with Colt "Barely Better Than Sexy Rexy" McCoy. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it?
So enjoy your draft picks, maybe you'll draft a real QB with them someday.

You call Crabtree "hitting" in the first round? Don't get me started.

Look at the bright side fellas, we still have 2 1st rounders this year. We can upgrade the team considerably.

Why not? Someone besides Z needs to get started...

Actually I think the 'Skins made such a ridiculous offer that the Colts will wonder what they are missing, draft RG and the 'Skins will land Luck...
Remember you read it here first...

Tannehill sucks. I've watched a good number of his games. He's a scrub who was talked up by the people who hated the idea of giving up precious draft picks as an "alternative".
He's closer to Akili Smith than Jay Cutler.

Excellent! Hail to the Redskins...
But if there's any truth that we tried to match the 'Skins ridiculous offer (#1 and 2 in 2012, 2013's 1 and 2014's 1), I'd be seriously pissed at our FO...

This. This is a Daniel Snyder move. Anyone that wanted the Browns to trade 3 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick to move up 2 spots in the draft is an idiot.
I'm a fan of RG3, but that is the most lopsided trade I've ever seen in sports.
-
What's fucked about it is it's not like we were not trying to trade for him. According to Fox Sports Ohio the Browns were offering three first rounders for Griffin, but would not give up our 37 this year.
So, they believed RG3 was their guy but did not have the balls to do what it takes to get him.

It makes the Raiders deal for Palmer seem reasonable

If the Browns really did match the Redskins offer I don't get why the Rams didn't pick us
If the Browns really did match the Redskins offer I don't get why the Rams didn't pick us
Yes, our picks were superior. Unless the Rams wanted to spread out the wealth- in case one of the picks they acquired busts.
2012 A first and two seconds. 2013 two firsts. 2014 two firsts. That's enough firepower to do whatever the hell they please.
So where's RGIII to da Cle now? Dum de dum- as I (and others) posited, St Louis can now offer one of the seconds (or next year's first) to the Browns to trade up and get Blackmon.
-
Honestly, if we were offering 3 1st's for the guy its kinda dumb we didn't want to throw in that extra 2nd. I mean come on. At that point, shit

Fuck that. Why the hell would we trade with the Rams? If I'm Heckert and they want Blackmon, they can give us a first round pick for the next 3 years and that's a precondition to even begin negotiating. Either that or Bradford, Amendola, the 6th overall and a third and/or forth for Colt and the 4th overall. Granted they would never do either of those scenarios but I couldn't give two shits. That's like giving a guy tips on how to please your ex-wife who left you for him last week.

Now we'll watch them draft average players at average positions.
In a few years Heckert,Holmgren,Lamonte and Shurmur will be long gone counting Randy's money.
But hey, at least we kept our draft picks.

honestly I think at that point they realized the magnitude of trading that much to get him, the 37th pick being a deal breaker just seems stupid since only about 1/3rd of the time is it an impact player, they probably just didn't want to risk that much because if it failed they would be done as a front office(fired).
it's not a big deal, RG3 will be good but so will the player they pick at #4(and I know they won't as impactful, but thats 2 more good players vs 1 potentially great player). there will be other quarterbacks in the future similar to Luck I'm sure, guys like RG3 are a lot more rare but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
time to get matt flynn I guess, I really don't think Mccoy will be doing all that much even if they pick Blackmon.
edit: also trading down is not out of the question according to heckert heh, I'm sure a lot of people would be annoyed if they did that.
