Why? I don't this actually puts us anywhere that we weren't before all the overblown RGIII hysteria started. The guy runs a fast 40 time and everyone thinks he is the second coming of Jim Brown.

Your right, were right back where we started. As usual.

Another year of McClueless. Another year of stagnation.

    Again, you blame McCoy.

95% of the problem in on the HC/OC as far as I am concerned. Maybe with Chili in here it will help. Getting some weapons with our stockpile of draft picks....which is what we have needed to do all along should also help.

Except Shurmer is still calling the plays. WTF is Childress on staff for, then?

Probably to handle the traffic and put a damper on a lot of the other confusion that goes on the sideline.

I do think at times Shurmur got lost because he was distracted with things going on other than calling the plays. Hopefully Childress can help with that.

Plus....I am sure there may be a large percentage of time where Chili will actually be suggesting plays to run in certain situations, even if the final call will be on Shurmur.

  • Where was the vote for trading down?

Draft Tannehill and Steven Hill in the first, and pick up an extra 2nd... possibility?

Maybe Mike Adams and a LB or CB in the 2nd

I'm really into Tommy Streeter as well

Shurmur's going to be wearing the headset and "calling the plays." Doesn't necessarily mean he's going to choose them by himself.

  • With the deal for RGIII gone, here is how 100 Mock drafters break down on their choice of whom the Browns are likely to pick witht Their #4 overall pick:

    Blackmon: 45%

    Claiborne: 24%

    Richardson: 21%

    Riley Rieeff: 2%

    Matt Kalil: 1%

    Coples: 1%

Honestly, I wouldn't complain about getting Blackmon, Claiborne, or Richardson. All three can be very good and help this team a lot. Although I don't think CB is a huge NEED (because I think Skrine/Patterson/Brown can do an average job), I would have nightmares if I was Big Ben, Andy Dalton, or Joe Flacco of trying to throw against Haden and Claiborne. Blackmon would obviously be an instant #1 for the receiving corps and we don't need to postulate that one for more than a split second. Richardson would also be great upgrade (with of without resigning Hillis). However, the thought of having Hillis AND/OR Richardson on the field on every play is terrifying.

  • Blacmon please.

  • drastic overestimation of rookie impacts. TR and hillis terrifying?

    lmao....

  • I just have a hard time believing we would take a CB in the top 5 after just taking one high. At this point I'd bet the farm the plan is to trade down for someone who wants blackmon or Kalil/Claiborne/Reiff.

If they trade down again I'm going to lose it. That will show their not looking to compete they are just existing in the NFL.

  • I'll take Blackmon in a heart beat. If it is true that 6 scouts were there and Pat Shurmer at his pro-day... were either looking to take him or Brandon Weedon. Or BOTH! I just dont want to reach on Weedon in the 2nd because of his age. Would rather him fall to round three, or trade up to the end of round 2.

If we WASTE our first pick on Richardson, it just means teams will put 8 - 9 men in the box the entire game. Same results as last season. Let's get Blackmon. If Little makes some progress and we get Blackmon, out receiving crew looks much improved this year.
