Interactive Mock Draft - Browns Are On The Clock Again

  • Sort of a surprise here...

    Coby Fleener, Stanford TE.

Runs great routes, super hands, big target at 6'6" tall, & great in the red zone. Best of the tight ends & we can still get our O lineman & WR in rounds 2 & 3.

In addition, Watson has had multiple concussions, Smith is mostly a blocker, Moore doesn't block, Cameron has VERY limited experience but is a decent project.

    1) We are hardly "secure" at TE. Ours are weak or about done & Fleener is outstanding.

    2) How many really "proven" WRs are left at 22?

    3) Just throwin' ideas out there. We could certainly do worse here.

It's only my opinion, just as your opinion is yours. I'll still defer to the real experts & that's Heckert & co.

    1) name me one position we are more secure with on offense. Left tackle doesn't count because it's one guy. and so the most secure position on offense is.... ????

    2) who says we have to take a WR? Jonathan Martin

    3) definitely appreciate new ideas. love the constructive banter. and I agree that Heckert & co. is in better position than all of us. cheers!

  • I would not be against taking Fleener, he could have the same impact as Graham in New Orleans and Gronkowski in New England but I think the need is to shore up the right side of the O line so I agree Jonathan Martin is the pick.

  • Hill is almost 100% certain to not be drafted by the Browns. Mary Kay normally has a pretty good idea of who the FO is looking into and even though there are 6 players the FO has managed to keep secret about bringing in there is really not talk from anyone working in the FO that they have looked at Hill much. Martin on the other hand has actually been brought in on a visit and so has Mercilus. I think if Merculus is still somehow on the board at #22 they address defense with one of the first 3 picks like they said they would and they get One of the two legit 4-3 DE in the draft. If Nick Perry is somehow still available here he is another guy the FO has brought in and fits the mold of a freakish athlete with perfect size for the 4-3.

  • OTH,

If they really want Hill at 37, you bethca they keep it a secret that they are interested in him.

    Smoke and Mirrors.

    1) I submit that we are secure with NO position on offense. Our talent level was so deficient (still is on offense) that we have almost come to view mediocrity (or even less) as acceptable. My suggestion is that TE is not a deep position of strength in this draft, but Fleener is outstanding & I feel he would serve our offense well. Other positions can be filled a little later.

    2) I view WR as a deep position in this draft with no A J Green at the top..A position we can fill after 1st round. I also believe we can go OL in the 2nd round, although I certainly wouldn't be upset with Martin at 22.

    3) Our banter & speculation is fun. It's made more fun knowing that we finally have a REAL GM & trying to guess what he & his crew are thinking. Last draft, I didn't guess right on a damn ONE! LOL

Regarding TE- OK, we don't have a Gronkowski on our roster- but on sheer need, WR, RB, and RT rank way higher on what should be addressed.

My bet is it's going to be RB\WR or WR-RB (or RT) with the first two picks.

    very gay. very wrong.

  • That's insane.

If Martin is still on the board, he's the pick at 22. Sanu is just as good if not better than Hill, he'll be the 37.

Not if they are handled correctly. This guy seems to be doing about as good a job as can be expected.

In a sense ALL mock drafts are 'gay" (in the connotation of being lame...not being homosexual)...as they are merely quite useless exercises in futility, but can occasionally be fun.
