I've heard worse, but 300 feet is a little drastic, and unless Cleveland decides to to something, anything with all the lakefront property to bring some people here, I can't imagine it could be paid for at all

Seriously a Superman Statue?

Sure, just like the Colossus of Rhodes, or the Statue of Liberty. Who better to put a statue up for? After all, Superman fights for Truth, Justice and the American Way.
Would you prefer Dennis Kucinich?

Like this, only about 20 times as tall:
Of course, you could put a statue of me, with a similar stance:

Maybe I am, maybe I ain't. But I do have arch enemies:

Article on 300 foot Statue of Christopher Columbus that apparently cannot find a home. I wonder why Columbus, Ohio rejected it?
And check this out: the Statue of Liberty isn't even in the Top 30 when it comes to the world's tallest statues. Most of the taller ones are of Buddha or other Buddhist figures:
-
This is the tallest statue in the world today, some 462 feet tall (over twice the height of the Statue of Liberty):
However, if and when Crazy Horse is ever done, it will be the world's tallest statue at about 550 feet tall:
-
Of course, the Burj Khalifa is by far the world's tallest building at over 2500 feet tall:
-
The New World Trade Center, under construction is already the tallest structure in NYC, and will pass any other US building soon:

Yes but all paling next to burj khalifa which is really an amazing structure
Early man walked away as modern man took control. Their minds weren't all the same and to conquer was their goal. So He built his great empires and he slaughtered his own kind, and he died a confused man and killed himself in his own mind... -

The bullshit thing about these is that they count the spire as a part of a building (but they don't count an antenna tower that is built on a roof of a building)
So, the New World Trade Center is going to be 1776 feet tall....only because they count to the tip of the spire, when in reality as you can see here, it highest occupiable floor will not be as high as that of the Sears Building (nka Willis Tower) in Chicago.

A foolish and immature rant. I assure you, chum, I'm no bandwagon come-lately type. I've probably been watching a lot longer than you have, son.
Pittsburgh is a football town "because the other teams suck"? Uh tell that to the Pens who won it all a few short years ago. No, Pittsburgh is, and always has been a football town because it IS football. The pro game was first played in Western PA. just for starters. And quite the opposite -- Pittsburgh fans were all into the Steelers for the decades when they totally sucked, before the '70s. I know, because my own relatives held tickets. No championships, just lots of stories of Bullet Bill and Ernie. Sorry, your wishful little theory won't wash.
Stereotyping sucks -- like you.
Internet forum equation to add instant age/wisdom:
Condescension + "son/sonny"
Works every time.

Yes, but, the Burj Khalifa will not be properly baptized until they make a remake with King Kong trying to climb it. (Tom Cruise don't count.)
