The people who drafted him the 1st are professionals, you are not. They know what they are doing. You can't say he should have gone in the 3rd round. These are the same people saying we shouldn't have traded up for Richardson because he was going to be there at 4. How can anyone possibly know this stuff.
so tell me why they should have wasted 3 picks to trade up? if we didn't get TR we would have at least got the #1 CB. don't get me wrong i like heckert but last year was one of his worse drafts yet. i hope to whoever above that TR turns out to be a 7 year pro bowler. but to this day i have yet to see him anywhere on tv cuz he's not playing. so who's to know that he was the right pick?

Colt is clearly playing better than Weeden right now, it would be instant controversy. quietly it already is.
Colt McCoy is playing his ass off. it seems nearly impossible to hold that kid down.
still, Weeden's ceiling is higher, and his accuracy is the best Cleveland's seen since Holcolmb. why is it always like this?!?

sweet! the Browns haven't claimed both AFC pro bowl CB spots since Hanford and Minni! i don't think any other team has even done that besides the Browns, maybe on some dusty pre-war audio-less B&W reels but certainly not in the modern age. how cool if they did it twice!

For the record, I was against the Richardson pickup. But it makes sense, and I'm okay with it now.
if Hillis has a bigger year as a backup in KC than TRich does, start looking for the pitchforks around playoff-time.

This entire thread is pure "insanity" Really? The team gets killed in a pre-season game by a team with far greater talent andn we all jump ship. There was no gameplanning or scheming going on at all, and our best offensive player still isn't playing... give me a break.
And, Weeden has already shown that he is far better than McCoy. He has made throws that Colt has never come close to already. BUT, he's a rookie. He can get rattled by the pass rush, he still needs to develop chemistry with the receivers, and the game is still faster than he is anticipating. Give him a break, Weeden has nothing to do with how bad the team looked against PHI.

Once again I reiterate that people like this are CLEARLY what's wrong with our fanbase. We used to have a tough blue-collar hard nosed intelligent fanbase that could hold a decent conversation about football. Now we have IMMATURITY at it's fullest. I realize that losing as much as this team has lost has caused a lot of knee-jerk reactions but seriously, COME ON MAN!!!! This team will never be better without a QB that can make all the throws needed. I'm not totally sold on Weeden either, but after watching Colt I can understand why they felt the need to make that decision. Colt could have gone through another season until we picked up a QB next year, but how would YOU have handled that if he looked like he did last year. The O line ain't lookin spectacular, and TRich was supposed to come in and help. They assessed Colt and determined it was time, I for one am in no position to argue. As far as what I do for a living, what does it matter, it's not running a football team so i'm not going to act like I know how to do it...

Colt played his ass off last pre season. Colt played with the 1st team last season as the starter and tripped all over his dick. Wow, he's having a great pre season again...with the 2nd team. Big deal. Weeden is 3 weeks into this offense with a revolving door on the right side of the line and a RB that can't catch or hold on to the football to save his life. I'm willing to give BW more than 4 qtrs of pre season play before I pass judgement.
