    no he didn't.

but if you're the second coming of christ like most of you want to make him out to be then his play should overcome any mistakes either from his hands or any others.

yeah he drove us down the field. matt cassell ryan fitzpatrick and kevin kolb could have done the same with the play of our WRs today. do you want to build your franchise around any of those guys?

hell mccoy was serviceable. why waste a first round pick on 'serviceable'?

but to be clear your advocating replacing weeden with another servicable 1st round qb next year?

i don't know if i'd replace him at all because we NEED so much on the other side of the ball.

my whole point is this: it's all nice and pretty for everyone that wanted a new QB because they thought mccoy sucked so bad. now that we have one how have we improved? our WRs have made the difference this year along with TR, not weeden and we still only have 2 wins? GTFO! yet no one will admit to the fact that we probably did waste that pick while we should have just played mccoy out to see how he shook out in his make or break year. if he would have led us to a winning season this year this discussion would be over. if not we'd be lookin at collin klein next year. for anyone to say he's not better than weeden is fucking HIGH (dick).

  • was against weeden pick. hes at least a small upgrade over mccoy but yeah probably not worth it. drafting any of this years qbs would be making the same mistake tho. admittedly havent watched much KSU but most "draft experts" dont even consider clein to be in the top 5 qbs in this draft. his stats are inflated by playing in a conference full of pussy defenses. (yes i realize weeden also played in the big12, not the point). all that said, blaming the QB for a loss with the defense giving up 20 2nd half points, over 300 yds passing to an incompetent romo, and over 100 yards in penalties is rediculous. weeden gave his team the lead with less than a minute to go-they couldnt step up

  • Anyone thinking that a college QB of ANY skill at all could have come in here and been successful at all with the horse and pony show coaching in cleveland IS high...Starting to think that the coaches are trying to sabotage the players to take the fall rather than accept the responsibility that they themselves blow chunks. This team needs real coaching. The players in place are good enough to have several more wins than they currently have, but the coaching has undermined them at every turn. Its absolutely ridiculous how unimaginative and weak the playcalling has been on both sides of the ball all year this year.

    CLEAN HOUSE JIMMY H III!!!!!!

i had said before that i didn't see every snap of the game. what i did see though is what i'm commenting on. i had half a bar rooting for the browns cuz they're gints fans wanting dallas to lose and the rest were actually ny cowboy fans....which make me sick (sorta like people from ohio rooting for the steelers). i was in and out (smoking laws) so i didn't see any of the second half before the jets game went final. so it was like 3 mins left. i watched the first 1/2 on internet feed which was terrible.

i was impressed with greg little, josh gordon and benjamin watson. TR did a solid job and don't know if the play calling kinda held him back with not enough play action passes and some motion plays. the catches these guys made were impressive because nothing was laid into their hands or thrown were the receiver would like it.

hey weeden might be here and be the man but he's got to improve. is that a fault from the coaching staff? maybe. but when is it talent vs. choke vs. talentless.

TR failed to run the ball in 3 times from inside the 5 the same way weeden failed to throw it in on 4th down. why the free pass for TR but not weeden? i love TR but just saying. hard to say weeden choked tho when he gave his team a lead with less than a minute to play

  • Movement to delete this ridiculous thread?

  • The amount of idiocy in this thread is actually kinda hilarious. You expect a rookie QB to simply just get thrown into the starting job and start pulling Aaron Rodger numbers? Hell, look at Tannehill or Luck this week. It's a proven fact that starting rookie QBs have a pretty damn hard time in their first year in the league. Why? Because the team they are on is usually shitty enough where they actually need a rookie QB to start. Our team is shit right now, but the promising part is that this is mainly because our team is unbelievably young. We need an off season with a developing team and a proven coach. Once we clean house coach wise, this can begin to happen.

  • Really Colin Klein i absloulety hate Weeden but hes not even going to play QB in the NFL...Miktoxic you were so agasnt RG3 and now you want Klein who's possible best comparison is Tebow in the NFL....Hes like a real real poor mans Colin Kapernick

  • i don't know if i'd take another qb next year. it's just funny to see a lot of fans here say "what do you expect from a rookie QB" when that's what they expected from mccoy. and when he didn't perform they blasted him. not the same with weeden. yet who had a better rookie record with the same number of games under his belt at this point of the season and had little to no weapons compared to weeden.

    just sayin.

I expect any pro qb rookie or not- to deliver an accurate 15 yard out when he has zero pressure on him. The o-line did an OUTSTANDING job of giving Weeden all day to throw. Made some, Little and Gordon bailed him out on some outstanding catches. Go watch the tape- Weedster bailed out on check downs- when he had guys wide open down the field he didn't see. I can't bitch abut not throwing deep- there were plenty of streak patterns that got bailed on.

Oh well, another nail in Shur-loss's coffin.

YOU ARE SO AGRAVATING WITH YOU BLIND ASS LOVE FOR McCOY!

The kid sucked..... Just stop bringing McCoy up everytime you post...please! 😠

  • Joe Haden lost us the game, and he knew it.

  • Weeden once again looked good when the offense was sped up for him.... They need to mix in the hurry up with him, he's comfortable and effective in it. The long drives that Weeden has put together have been pretty good. Lets blame kick returns that got called back for holding and the ridiculous 10 penalties that resulted in Dallas first downs. The penalties easily allowed the Cowboys to score at least a touchdown in yardage and cost the Browns at least one more field goal. That's a swing of 10 points because of penalties, something that Weeden had nothing to do with.

  • Has it been 2-3 games since a legitimate shot downfield? Can't recall a play over 35-40 yards downfield. Benjamin and Gordon can stretch the field. Think I saw one sweep with TR yesterday, when they get him out on the edge things happen. The play calling is so questionalbe and ass nine at times makes you just grind your teeth. With that thought the D line was lights out, and the Lb's were pretty decent today, as for my draft looking at CB,LB,DE now. Skrine, only thing he is good for is Tackles in a IDP fantasy football league. 😵

  • Weeden is a ROOKIE,. I don't care if he is 29 years old. He is still a ROOKIE. Give him some time.Give him the rest of the

season. He is going to make some good throws and he is going to make some awful throws. He did not lose this

game. That is on the defense which always crumbles in clutch time. It is on Sheldon Brown who is too slow to

play press coverage so he plays 10 yards off a receiver which guarantees a first down on every throw on

his side. This team DESPERATELY needs another corner and a free safety. They also need one more LB but

after yesterday DBs should be taken early and often in the draft. We only see the highlights of RG3,Luck,Wilson,

and Tannehill but rest assured they are all making rookie mistakes and all have more talent around them than

    Weeden.

BTW I am not even going to mention Shurmur's clock management skills again. Simply awful.

  • 3rd and goal at the one. Why not fake a handoff to TR and have Weeden run the ball in? Dallas jammed the middle both 3rd and 4th downs. Weeden could have walked into the endzone.

  • Look I don't consider myself a football expert, not even close. When my Dad and I watched the browns game yesterday (it got national coverage somehow), I correctly predicted what the browns were going to run based on the formations about 70% of the time. On the other side of the coin, I accurately called what Dallas was going to run (especially in the 2nd half) about 80% of the time. This isn't in any way an "oh look how smart I am" more so than "holy Jesus how is it that obvious?". I mean seriously, if a casual football fan can sit on his couch and do that, imagine what an NFL coordinator can and should do.

Dallas clearly adjusted to what we were doing in the second half, and the browns did the exact opposite. Tony Romo at one point in the 3rd quarter throw 6 straight slant/curl routes that were WIDE open. Couple that with 10 defensive flags for first downs (which was still just God awful officiating) and you're not going to win a football game, plain and simple.

Honestly, the fact that we're so close in these games gives me a lot of confidence we have talent on the field. Everyone needs to calm the hell down and realize that. Haslam didn't buy this team to sit around and rake in cash. He'll clean house and get a guy who actually knows football.

  • The loss belongs to our pass defense. We had 7 sacks against Dallas. Weeden didn't look great, but he was acceptable. 20-25, 2TD, no INT isn't bad. He did make some lousy throws, but he made some good ones also. The announcer didn't like him as evidenced by him bad mouthing him all the time. I think our priority is definitely the DB's.
