Rg3 Out

The Browns Board

  • lol at the ghoolie post and then the post following showing his words in February. My how times have changed.

Anywho, yea, RG3 got hurt, but you know what? That was the 4th quarter and he dove to get an extra 2 yards and the game was on the line. I would do the same thing and I bet he would do it again. Just like in the Panthers game were down 2 tds and its 4th down and he hellicoptered in the air for a first down. He has heart. People that didnt watch the game may not know this but, we were at like our own 45 when RG3 went down. Cousins threw an incompletion that was a 5 yard def pass interference and Griffin came back in and threw TWO HUGE completions that put us on the 11 yd line before going back out. For him to go back in the game and when he threw it was literally on one foot. thats heart, and honestly, in the 4th quarter, I dont care I love that he sacrificed his body for the game. It worked out.

The leg injury was a freak accident, that will happen sometimes, he does need to learn to slide, even when he slides it doesnt look like a slide...

Regardless, he will be great, let him throw in the pocket more, hes actually MORE accurate in the pocket then outside of it. I think we have a bright future as a Redskins fan.

As for your talk on Luck. Luck looks good, but I dont see greatness... yet. He has a 54% completion percentage (Mark Sanchez anyone?) and yea he throws for a ton of yards, but when you throw the ball 55 times a game, thats what happens. Then they blame it on the run game. Give me a break, his run game would be just fine if Arians would just call runs. Thats his choice to let luck throw 100 times a game. Luck has 18 pass TDs, 18 INTs. Griffin has 18 pass tds 4 ints. Big difference. Then I hear "But luck has a record of 9-4 with acolt team that went 2-14 last year! Ok well, first of all they threw the season after week 6, secondly, the team is actually decent especially the WRs and defense. AND, finally, they have the weakest biggest joke of a schedule Ive seen. Not saying Luck wont be great one day, I think he will, but this year, ROY has to go to Griffin. As for Weeden... Weeden is good, and Ive been saying this all year. If Weeden was 23 years old, people would be saying hes having an amazing year, but because of his age, they say hes having a bad year? Give me a break. Ill take Weeden over Tannehill and Wilson every day of the week. Wilson is decent, but that team is so good, hes their Alex Smith. Weedens only weakness that I see is passion for the game. Maybe Im wrong, but a guy who went to baseball first makes me feel that his favorite sport is baseball, not football, and therefore he doesnt love football as much, and just came back to play football because of his injury/career faded him out in baseball. I dont know, just how I feel. but the people who think the sky is falling because of Weeden need to wake up, hes had a better rookie year then Bradford, Stafford, Elway, Aikman, etc; its just that hes older.

Look Blow hole, RG hasn't done shit, yet. Washington has an easy schedule. Wait until teams have films on him and he takes a few more knockout punches. IN 4 year he will be a feint memory.

HAHAHA hasnt done anything??? look at the stats! Its that simple. Easy schedule? Ravens, Pitt, Gaints (Superbowl Champs) TWICE!, Vikings, Cowboys, Bengals, Bucs, more than half our schedule is teams with winning records, get over it. "Wait until teams have films on him"??? Last time I checked, We played the Giants for a second time, and we won. Yes, after they had all the films they wanted, after they already experienced RGIII, they still couldn't stop him. Hes the best passer in the league (Stats show that) and the best QB rusher in the league ON TOP of that (Stats prove that too).

Let's not get carried away now. Bob has shown he has talent and can do many things, and that he has some potential, but he is not the end all be all of NFL QBs.

He has a live arm, but he is by no means the best passer in the league...unless he changed his name to Tom Brady/Peyton Manning/ or Drew Brees.

    Maybe after those guys retire.

Maybe he can become better than his prototype: Michael Vick. Or maybe he will become a clone of him.

But right here, right now, I would still draft Andrew Luck over him. (n/w/s what Ghoolie might think)

And hell, for all we know, he may not end up being the best QB drafted out of the Big 12 this past year. Weeden may indeed be up to that challenge.

  • Rookie years are too early to tell. All I know is that Im happy with Griffin, couldnt be happier. I wouldnt trade him for anyone, I really wouldnt, I love the potential, sky is the limit player. Im sure you guys wouldnt trade Weeden for anyone. But, this draft class has the chance to be the best class for QBs ever. Except Tannehill. I still dont think Tannehills that good. And if you play in the NFL and never watched an NFL game before you played, I dont even want you on my team. I want the NFL/football junkie, and Tannehill didnt even know what teams were in what divisions, lol.

No, honestly, with this draft class, Andrew Luck would have been the choice...even over Weeden.

  • Garcon lets it slip that RG3 is out?

    http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2012/12/washington_redskins_pierre_gar.html

BEREA, Ohio - Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon might have tipped off the Cleveland Browns as to who will start at quarterback Sunday.

Appearing on ESPN SportsCenter, Garcon said he expects Kirk Cousins to play for the injured Robert Griffin III. He backed off the statement slightly at the encouragement of the ESPN studio host, Bram Weinstein.

Garcon made his revelation Tuesday, a day after Redskins coach Mike Shanahan had not ruled out Griffin, who suffered a knee sprain against the Baltimore Ravens.

Garcon said: "We have a little bit tougher of a task with Kirk starting."

Cousins, also a rookie, replaced Griffin in the fourth quarter and rallied the Redskins to a 31-28 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Redskins (7-6) are fighting for a playoff spot, and the 5-8 Browns still have a remote postseason shot, as well.

“We have to play well around Kirk so Kirk doesn’t feel like he has to save the team and help him to be a comfortable as possible,” said Garcon, a Mount Union product.

Weinstein interjected: "I hope we didn’t give away too much there. We think Kirk is starting this week. We’ll see if Robert can – "

Garcon interrupted the host and said: “We have to prepare for the worst.”

According to the Washington Times, Weinstein is a former Redskins beat writer for ESPN 980 in Washington, and after Sunday's win he tweeted: "Congrats @Redskins go win the division!"

  • Not that I would want the Giants or the Cowboys to get a playoff spot over the Redskins...I wouldn't, but it does not break my heart if the Browns play spoiler to the Redskins or any other team....expecially if they to have even the slimmest chance of a playoff spot.

I posted before the season started that RG3 would amount to very little in the NFL because RUNNING QUARTERBACKS, and THAT IS WHAT RG3 IS, get fucked up.

They guy isn't playing peepee football anymore. When he is a moving target, he's gonna get plastered. I laughed at seeing him get knocked the fuck out. Trust me, the guy is not long for the NFL, 3 years? Thats bout it.

Kordell Stewart, teh homo, was the best running QB of all of them, his problem was, he was a horrible passer. If the guy could pass, he would have been unstoppable. RG3 is ordinary in passing, and very good at running. Running QBs just don't last.

If McNair got busted up in 4, this kid won't have anything left after 2.

Before the season started you said no such thing, until maybe after the draft when you didn't get RG3. Here is what you really said:

WOW. ANOTHER BRILLIANT, INSIGHTFUL POST from a brilliant Browns fan.

"The Redskins think he is a franchise QB" DUH............ DO YA THINK?

This is why the Browns will finish 4 - 12 next year. Here we are, a team with little talent, no playmakers, perhaps the shittiest QB in the NFL............. and we don't want to take RG3, because if we hold on to our picks, we can draft more Stars (translation, shit) like Blowjob Thomas, HIllis, Little and Cribbs.

For the love of granola gohnorrhea, the Browns need to for ONCE, make a hard play for one of the NFLs best, top, high up-side prospects.

What if he busts? SO what? ALl teh other shit we have drafted has been a totaly shit bust.

Don't agree? 6 -10 progressed to 4 -12.Case closed. The Browns players are pure shit. Do what we have to do to get RG and then shit can teh rest of the players save a small handfull.

Cribbs, CLit and Hillis - Triple SHitpile discount.

You must be the most deprived person I have ever heard to have to talk yourself up so much. Get a wo(man) or something.

    As I said,

RG3 is now on his way out of the NFL. Each time he coemms back a wee bit slower, it is more likely he will get knocked the fuck out again.

RG3 will be a distant memory in 3 years and Luck will be a joke.

Weeden, by far teh better QB of the three.

"Weeden, by far teh better QB of the three" LMAO. I want some of what you are smoking you ignorant fuck. Are you stupid enough to believe that or do you just get a stiff one when you see a Ginger?

Keep telling yourself that Weeden is the man because the alternative of realizing your browns are and will continue to be pathetic year after year can't be much fun. The colts with Luck beat your ass already this year dip shit.

LOL, classic internet troll - awesome!

  • espn haid on doctor on yesterday explaining the treatment for a sprained LCL. sit out 2-3 weeks. period.

anyone who thinks the redskins start RG3 and risk making his injury worse is insane. a total shanahan smoke screen.

kinda wish RG3 would have played to see how our defense would have schemed and played against the kid.

BUT i'll take any type of break coming our way after being at the losing end of so many other situations.

my opinion of RG3: awesome arm, good pocket presence/awareness and escability........BUT HE HAS TO LEARN TO GET TO THE GROUND.

  • At any rate, the MD/DC/VA area is frantically trying to find out if RG3 is going to play again. And after trying to pry everyone from his dad, coaches, teammates, and neighbors - no one knows. However, the general consensus is that if he can, he will play - likely with a brace. If not, a lot of people have confidence in Cousins and feels he can win.

I know most fans are respecting what the Browns are doing, particularly on defense. And for the Redskins, we are in a must win from here on out. RG3 adds an element which Cousins doesn't.

To my next point, the Redskins offensive line SUCKS! The reason they run so much pistol and play action is to mask the deficiencies of the Oline. When RG3 is in shotgun, he has almost no time to pass.

Which brings me to "the play"...

RG3 has been running a lot less. The play in which he was injured he was scrambling to make a play. Less than two minute in the game, 2nd and 19, protection broke down and he had to try and gain as much field as he could. He had 7 total rushes for the game. Flacco himself had 5. They are trying to protect RG3 more and he has been smarter. With that said he should have gone down sooner. But coulda, woulda, shoulda...right? Right.

Obviously most of the fans are smarter than the troll on the board. RG3 is number one in passing against the rush. He completes more passes while staring down the end of the barrel. Many question his ability to be a "pure pocket passer". Obviously I am a homer, but when he has a decent amount of time, RG3 does a great job of going through his progressions, look off defenders, and read defenses. The biggest thing has been the coaches trying to make up for the deficiencies of the offensive line. They are running more pistol than at the beginning of the year because their came a point where RG3 was getting killed in the pocket, which he still does but he just doesn't have enough time.

Enter Kirk Cousins. Although he could probably play very well, he doesn't have the scrambling ability that RG3 has and therefore would not survive behind that offensive line.

Yeah a "doctor on ESPN" knows way more than Dr. Andrews the world renowned expert on sports injuries... Im guessing the Skins will listen to what he has to say on the subject but thats just a guess. Bottom line is no one knows yet if RG will play or not.. If he practices tomorrow and or Wednesday Id say there is a good chance he does.. Its FOOTBALL. The Skins actually have realistic playoff hopes. If Andrews says he shouldn't play he won't but to think some ESPN doctor that hasn't even examined RG knows who will be starting for the Skins is silly.

Andrews was the first person to examine RG after the injury happened and was the one who told him he could go back out and play a few more snaps during that last drive in regulation.

how'd that go over? world renowned.

although i also take with a grain of salt what espn says, i don't think they're going to hire some quack with no history what-so-ever to discuss this specific injury.

if he starts on sunday i'll be amazed, and i'll be wrong. but until then shanahan will keep our coaching staff guessing until an hour before game time. at which time he'll name cousins as the starter.

    and i'll have been right.

hey man, no disrespect to the skins fans. i think you guys are a lot like us. you're in one of the toughest divisions in football and have had 2 teams ahead of you for god knows how many years and now you see a glimmer of hope. just don't fuck up the next 10 years because you want the playoffs so bad this year. it would be a tremendously bad move not to sit the kid for the rest of the season. it's not like you were/are going to beat the giants or 49ers or atlanta or green bay or.........

  • Im just so curious to see how bad a grade 1 LCL sprain is. Like, for example, is there a higher chance that you tear a ligament after you sprain it? OR, is it an injury that will just cause you to be slower because of the pain? If its the latter of the two, then Id say give him a shot and play.

I think hes going to play just because the kid went back out sunday and played 4 snaps and completed two big passes. I cant see this holding him back from playing sunday. BUT, with that being said, if Dr Andrews said that because its sprained it gives him even a 2% more of a chance at tearing it, than you have to sit him.

But Im probably being a bit selfish that I want him to play so bad, but honestly, I look at it like this; we pretty much need to win out, if he does tear something at least he will have the offseason for it to heal? I know thats a bad way of looking at it, but thats what Im thinking.

Browns are a good team, I dont think we can beat them with Cousins.

I'm not a Dr., but any time you sprain something, if you continue to push it, you will tear or break it.

  • It doesn't matter who we play, we need to win and can win with either. Of course with Cousins playing I think that gives us more of an edge, its still not a gimme by any means. And if RG3 does play, I would expect him to be less mobile and probably less designed QB options in the game plan. We should know more in next day or so.
