As I said..he was the starting QB on a playoff winning team more often in the past 12 months than anyone we've had in the past 12 years.

  • McDaniels doesn't stir any interest to me. It seems like another half-baked and unqualified HC to lead us to at best 7-9 in the next 3 seasons until we fire him and start over... again.

Tebow? Dear God, please don't let this happen.

Mallet, another "meh" proposal. Unproven and will likely need a year to get up to speed, which is something I refuse to have with a team that has been emerging quickly this year.

Andy Reid and Alex Smith or Saban and Rivers(?). I'm down for that.

  • I'm pretty sure Mallet was a coke head in college

  • Tebow isn't going to be coming here. Washington is going to deal Cousins for a pick and pick up Tebow thus assembling an offense with White Jesus and Black Jesus to rule the NFC East.

  • Rivers??? Yes please. Will everyone please stop posting about Tebow, you are going to give me nightmares

    TEBOW ... TEBOW ... TEBOW !!!

    I like that combination.

So many haters for Tebow, too bad. The guy was given a chance in Denver and he performed. His mechanics, yes not tradional, were Kosar's ? His work ethic second to none. If Denver had kept him, behind Manning that kid would've been a sponge for Mannings lessons.

The Jets went after Tebow because the Giants went to the Super Bowl and New Tork teams needs their attention. Rex Ryan is a putts and the team's going no nowhere, especially as long as they're committed to Sanchez. So, what do they do, try to take some limelight away from the Giants with getting Tebow, 'yea, that'll make some good controversy!'. 'We can't use the Ryan crap that we're headed for the Super Bowl again, so let's look for something else'. Freakin genius' in that organization, Ryan heading the pack. Half a coach anywhere else would've capitalized on what Tebow offers, and Yes, Tebow offers plenty.

It'd be great to see Tebow in one of two places - Jacksonville, to revitalize that franchise since fans are dropping off like flies and they'd love the home town boy playing there or in a Browns jersey.

Tebow is a putrid QB thats why he is on the bench in NY, he is so bad he can't even supplant Sanchez. No thanks to Tebow he can stay far away from the Browns. I want a real QB not an option QB.

If you think that's the reason Tebow hasn't been playing then you are dumber than most.

As were 80% of the rest of the people drafted.

Cocaine is becoming more and more a recreational drug. I saw a guy do a bump last night at a bar, for Christ's sake.

  • The Bill Belichick tree has produced crap HC's. Pass.

  • The rumor I heard is a "Package deal" Mike Lombardi, Josh McDaniels, Ryan Mallet. So here is my opinion on each:

    Lombardi: a downgrade from Heckert

    McDaniels: an upgrade from Shurmur

Mallet: break even (at best) with Weeden. The only advantage is that he is younger.

Lombardi forms his opinions on players by looking at his sphincter, but when he does decide his sphincter puckers and he gets stubborn. Isn't this the guy that brought the world Clifford Charlton, Mike Junkin, Craig Powell and Jamarcus Russell?

McDaniels, I believe, is a fairly bright young offensive mind. Maybe I am prejudiced in his favor. He was born in the same hospital as me, and when he was a kid he used to ride his bike around my sister in laws neighborhood. A homey.

Mallet was a big lumbering QB from Arkansas that was outplayed by Terrelle Pryor. Why don't the Browns just go get Terrelle Pryor. His game could very well be better, and he would certainly have more mobility.

I am not opposed to him...I just don't know that he is an improvement.

In fairness, I think Marty played a large role in selecting his next LT. I have to give Lombardi a pass on that...and on Russell as well. I don't think any team in the league would have passed on Russell.

As for Mallett, I liked him. Mallett and their 1st rounder for our 1st rounder??

Uh, I hate to clue you Tim, but cocaine was a recreational drug in the 1970's. It might be making a come back and that is unfortunate. Good way to kill yourself.

So does Terrelle Pryor....and he may actually turn out to be a better NFL QB.

(that said, odds are that neither will end up breaking down the doors to the facility on Fulton Ave. in Canton Ohio)

So? You say we trade Brandon Weeden to the Pats for Mallet and their first round pick?

Or are you saying we take Mallet, and switch first rounders...our probable Top Ten for their 28th-32d?

Honestly, who knows because we all have no idea what Mallet can do in the NFL. Has he even played a down? Has he even come in in a mop up role?

And what about Weeden and McCoy? Like I said, what evidence is there that Mallet would be an upgrade...other than that Josh McDaniels has been working with him a couple of years.

  • Andy Reid, no thanks. Another has been, the Eagles have sucked the last few years, he's another Holmgren hopeful for Cleveland.

Saban proved squat in the NFL, no thanks, plus he screwed Miami and bailed. Want that here ?

Rivers ? Phillip Rivers ? Guy cannot finish, chokes in every big game and chance.

    Alex Smith, good call.

With the heart this team has shown this season, rising halfway through the season, can you imagine what further boost a leader like Tebow would do for morale ? Sure would be nice to see somoen other than a wide eyed Weeden type driving the boat.

Yeah, that never happened in the 80's.

    I meant again.

It's like people realized the effects it had on your heart and backed off throughout the 90s, and now they've forgotten and are back at it.

I say make it all legal and let the idiots kill themselves.

  • Things to like about Josh McDaniels:

    1. He's from Barberton, Ohio and attended John Carroll.

    2. Patriots have the #1 offense and he is their coordinator. Same could be said in 2007.

    3. His wife looks like the type that likes to give head:

Things to not like about Josh McDaniels:

    1. His offenses have ranked #18, #29 and #32 when not in New England

    2. He made highly questionable personnel moves in Denver and followed up Shurmur's #21 offense in St. Louis and made it the #32 offense.

    3. His wife won't be giving any of us head.

Again..who has won more playoff games in the last 12 months than we've won in the last 12 years.
