  • Rivers arm is no better than Pony Boy's at this point. I sure as hell dont want him and I doubt Chud or even Turner does.

  • Chud still hasn't acknowledged Weeds. Don't think he's enamored.

This Rivers thing may have some teeth. It'll be an interesting off-season, that's for sure.

So who is he going to go with? DA? Quinn?🙄

Yea, the Triplets. If BW3, TR, and Flash were tantamount to the Cowboy trio...that would be good.

    Colt, Richardson, Gordon - X-Factor=Cribbs

  • When i was watching Weeden vs the Broncos I really started to see the BIG throws with dead on accuracy starting to take place. Guys were covered and there were throws to where only the receiver could catch it. Got to think he will be our BEST option by week 1.

  • In an off year for Rivers he had 26 TDs and 15 INTs. 3,600 yards and an 88 QBR. All of those stats are better than what Weeden put up, and I would say that Rivers had less around him. He lost his No1 WR from last year, and his this years No1 before the season even started. Gates was either hurt or didnt even look like he wanted to play. Mathews was also hurt. He would be coming into a familiar offense. I think it could work wonders. He is 31 and will turn 32 a couple months after Weeden turns 30.

I guess that leads me to this question. Would you give up this years first rounder for Rivers?

I just dont want another year of what Weeden did. 14 TDs and 17 INTs with a lot of dumb mistakes. Now if you were able to say that Weeden will have his kinks worked out you keep the pick and go BPA.

What is more important to this team? A CB, LB, DE (assuming one of those would be our 1st round pick) or shoring up our starting QB?

I dont know the answer, would like to hear some opinions on the matter.

  • Yeah, but Rivers played in Chorv's system. Weeden didn't. Huge difference your not putting together.

  • I think Weeden will have even more pressure on him this year than he did last year. Now he has new coaches and systems. So naturally he will have struggles. I really wanna like Weeden but he just dont have that IT leadership I seen this year in other rookie QBs. I really hope he works out for our sake though.

  • HOW can folks continually judge Weeden when, in his ROOKIE year, he had little (if any) coaching, inexperienced receivers, & lousy play design, poor play calling/decision making, & far too rigid an offensive strategy?

In 2013, Weeden & our other QBs will FINALLY have expert & credible coaching. This will not only GREATLY aid in their development, it will lend credence to their evaluations of talent.

I honestly think that Weeden was mandated to play "outside" his own comfort/talent level, where other rookie QBs were playing in offenses that were designed to take advantage of THEIR individual comfort/talent levels. THIS year, Weeden will be on more of a "level playing field" with the others, so why not wait & see what happens.

I'm extremely excited! LOVE the Chud/Norv hires, the goal of playing aggressively, & the stated flexibility.

  • This year should answer all the questions about our QB's if Weeden struggles you play Colt and see what he can do in this offense if both suck.. Well we are stuck drafting a new QB, but teams draft new QBs and win now so it wont be so not end f the world.. Weeden should excel in this offense though

  • There isn't a person in the new Browns that is tied to Weeden, much less McCoy. There is no way they are going to throw away their first year to see if a QB that another regime drafted will sink or swim. They have different plans in mind, bank on it.

  • People really just can't envision it because they keep comparing Weeden's okayness to the success of the other rookies, he will excel next year with Chud and Turner

like mike pagano did a lot of coaching to andrew luck from his death bed?

don't hate me for saying this . pleez i want everyone that we've invested in to do good/great/fantastalistic!!!

BUT you either got it or you don't. it's none of these guys first day on the football field. stand up and be a play-maker or go bag groceries at stop and shop.

i'd rather have a phillip rivers anyday, who after getting hit in the back will stand up and call the defender out (harrison) and keep yelling at him all game than some guy that shakes his hand in a loss.

I agree with you i think Bw3 will excel in the new offense that would complement his strengths of throwing a rocket ball.

  • Weeden gets one more year unless by some weird miracle Geno Smith falls to us at 6.

Weird miracle?? That's what you'd call that...

That only makes sense if he would be trade bait for us to trade down.

Geno Smith <<<< R. Wilson (who IMHO) <<<< B. Weeden in QB skills

Like everybody else said, he should be much better with Chud and Norv.

  • They are making it sound like Lombardi is a done deal right now and I don't think he's a big Weeden fan.

I think it's 50/50 at best that Weeden is our starter next season, no to Geno Smith.

Agreed. What did Peyton Manning do his first year. 3 wins. 26 TD and 28 INT's. Come on man.

  • The thing with Weeden is it's just a dumb investment.

30 year old QB with 1 year experience.

In a few seasons, (hopefully he's still around) Weeden will start to decline physically and won't have a decade of experience to rely on.
