Personally, when you're making as much money as these guys do... taking a few extra bucks to leave a city you supposedly care about is pretty classless.

Cribbs isn't worth very much, is getting older.

I'd have liked to have seen someone, for once, take the high ground. Cribbs used the fans to get more money than he deserved in the first place.

    Good riddance.

Nah- it works both ways Mike. Browns management had to know Cribbs was a fan favorite (he was on a ticket two years running). We had tons of cap room. By all accouts, we seriously overpaid for Kurger, but they can't ante up another million or so to keep Josh around till the end of his career?

Ditto that for Phil Dawson. You paid the guy franchise money for two years running, the guy makes the Pro Bowl, and now he's suddenly not worth it?

This crap isn't limited to the Browns. Tom Brady has to be privately fuming. He takes a sub-market contract so they can resign Wes Welker, and the Pats FO stiffs Welker over the $2 million Brady gave them.

  • Like mlxtoxic said, he had a lot of talent that wasn't unharnessed while he was here, especially at WR. I honestly like the replacement of Benjamin with Cribbs with regards to age and overall talent, but Cribbs was great and will be missed.

  • An electrifying player that will be missed.

    Thanks JC

  • Good luck Jc...you outlived your usefulness here but all the respect to ya. you rocked.

Wow. That was awesome. You are completely sober tonight aren't you?

sorta. finally got back on a norm sleep cycle. less booze more zanax.

    hiccup. 😳

love PoG but he just takes it to another galaxy of thoughtdom. i knew a kid like that in middle school. he used to walk on his tip toes. guess it was a mental/physical combined disability. then he grew up, started drinking and drugging. well like a lot of kids couldn't handle it thinking he was going crazy. one night he got angrily drunk and shot someone through his chest with a crossbow. first televised courtroom case in ohio. google it.

sometimes i wonder where he is and what he's doing now.

i heard he has family in arizona and named his cat cribbs.

Lol!!! He means well but he's on a different wave length than me

  • Man, I'm sorry to see Josh leave. My family lives in AZ so maybe they'll have the chance to appreciate his heart and talents now.

I've named my cat after Cribbs and now I'll have to put him down... πŸ™

It sucks that now that we're going places the two guys that deserve it most will be gone, Peace out Josh and Phil, God Bless you guys and thanks for the thrills. You guys made watching this bullshit tolerable but now they had better fucking win. This is just like letting Vickers walk. I just don't understand the crazy shit that goes on inside the heads of control freaks.

They just don't know when to sign and when to let them walk. My daughter would be a better GM than Banner and Lombotomy. These guys are a fucking joke.

So your going to kill your cat because Cribbs is with the Arizona cardinals?

    LOL!

I hope you don't name your kids after any browns players.

  • Out lived his usefulness? I don't think his full potential was even half utilized.

Most waste of talent I've ever seen by a team.. πŸ™

  • Here's a good bye that he posted

  • All I hope is Haden or another young guy embodies what Cribbs did for Cleveland. Cribbs has the potential to statistically be the best returner of all time. He suffered through horrible regimes who rarely used the guy to the best of his abilities. I don't think he ever had the chance to be a great WR or even a solid #2 but he's a great all around football player. We aren't going to run into guys who WANT to be in Cleveland and played a pivotal role to the team's success. I'm surprised he went to Arizona though, that leads me to believe the Browns threw nickels at the guy to come back.

  • This board makes me feel like the IQ in northeast ohio is extremely low.

Football is a business as it has been for well over 50 years. There is no love or loyalty. Do you think that Jim Brown would have retired if he was able to get even a fraction of what they pay these players today?

The FO was hired to do a job and that job as stated by Banner is to build a winning team.

"Does this make us a better team? If the answer is yes, then we make the move. If the answer is no, we don't."

Cribbs is an Enigma that, while he still retains some value, the current FO didn't feel it weighed towards the positive for them.

Please feel free to go watch your favorite players on other teams, I personally will be watching the Cleveland Browns.

  • Fukc it. He's gone, move on. Quit crying.

  • I wonder if he could have been a better safety than the stream of suck that we've had for the last few years beside and before TJ.

Peterson returns kicks in AZ, it's not unprecedented to have a DB doing return work

  • All the time in Cleveland Cribbs always showed frustration from losing and seemed to come off as a guy that wanted to win above all else.

Makes you wonder how much more money Arizona offered him over New England, how much of a role did more money play in going to a losing team.

Maybe he believes he'll get more of an opportunity on offense in AZ..who knows.

Either way I think it's a disappointing decision by him, he's either a me guy or just a big phoney.

Would of loved to seen him get in where he could fit in with New England and finally win for once.

New england deal = less money but chance at the big one, still cold, moderate amounts of sewage.

Arizona deal= more money zero chance at the big one, hot as fuck , sewage dries in about a half hour.

  • Four days ago it was reported that Cribbs was joining the Cardinals. He even took the opportunity to post a nice goodbye for all of us. We all wished him well. Well some of us did anyway. So where is the contract? Still no contract. Does anybody else find this extremely odd?

Josh being Josh. Seems more like hes trying to be spiteful before the Cards offered him anything real. Love the player, Love the heart, tired of his out of place comments. Part of being a professional is knowing when to keep your mouth SHUT Josh...

    Just sayin...

  • Just saw it on espn. JC fails physical with cards.

OK, so, there will be no movement on him for some time it appears. And he isn't coming back, so can we all just move along?

We should be asking something like "should we pick up Ted Ginn" or some other return man...or stick with Benjamin.

And who is going to be the teams torpedo on punt and KO returns without Cribbs there? Is that what Quentin Groves is for?
