here's a post i put up on here last december. it was one of many before that predicting the demise of the steelers within the next couple of years. here i was trying to draw comparisons between the browns as we had our roster then and the steelers the same. i was responding to a thread started on here by the infamous steeler troll 'josephsuxdix'.

browns = young steelers = old

    offensive squad:

    QB - steelers

    RB - browns

TE - wash (watson = miller)

WR - browns (gordon #! little #2 will be beats next year.....wallace FA and will fuck the steelers like they fucked him).

OL - sorta a wash. thomas and mack pro bowlers missing a RT then it's browns all the way

    defense:

    DL - browns. hands down.

    LB - stoolers

DBs - wash with an edge to haden at CB

    spec teams:

    cleveland

    totals:

    browns = 4

    stoolers = 2

    even = 3

where are you dominate? joecokliker? another year for you guys is another plus for us. if you could read a pie chart the browns would have an 80% upswing while you mother jumpers are looking at the back end of your sister's asses.

I PREDICTED YOUR DOWNFALL LAST YEAR AND IT'S GOING ALONG EXACTLY AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD. tomlin is just a bad a coach as shurmur. players cost coaches jobs. weeden cost shurmurs. how was tomlin doin w/o ben?

    exactly.

w/o raplishbergur you are mediocre at best and you will not be missed COONT!!

now looking at it today i can reasonably say we have to give the edge to the browns LBing corp given the moves we just made. by the start of the season i could see another category going our way with FA not being over and the draft looming.

give it up yinzers, the browns are pulling ahead. and the rooneys' cunnies well you should start to think:

"That maybe your cunny isn't quite the draw you think it is." -margaret schroeder, empire boarwalk.

Browns > Cribbs and you no longer have Cribbs. You putting that special teams designation on Dawson? Suisham didn't have a bad year last I checked. Kruger can't play the run, you still don't win out at linebacker, especially if Woodley gets back to form. As far as the offensive line is concerned I believe that will shift to the Steelers this season and Heath Miller is the most complete tight end in the NFL. He's better than Watson that isn't a Wash and Watson is on his way out now isn't he? Let's also not forget how many top 10 draft picks you've had in Cleveland and how many losing seasons after those draft picks. Bottom line playing "paper football" only goes so far. Everyone was ready for the Browns to turn the corner last season and look what happened. You're drafting inside the top 10 again.

Dawson may not even be back. Travis Benjamin is more than ready to step in for Cribbs as punt & kick returner. We don't like to do it, but Joe Haden is better than anyone you can field in that department.

Lol...I have been around, where were you?...and sorry...no pom pom's here...Sounds like you have been raiding your spouses wardrobe again...its gonna be fun watching your stoolers and ratbirds fighting for last place this upcomming season...have fun with that.

The Ratbirds just won the Super Bowl. Let's say they do have a bad season this year how long do you think they'll stay down there? Let's say the Steelers have a bad one too. Same question...how long do you think they stay down there? My answer is not long but who knows. The NFL is pretty fickle. I'd wager the Browns will be last in the division yet again. The division crown will be up for grabs otherwise.

looking at both our rosters id say...You couldnt be more dead wrong...did you happen to see baltiwhore lost its starting LB core?...Ed Reed is more than likely going elswhere?...your O line stinks...your Lbers arent far behind as is your Dline..although I'll give you hayward...Keisel is at the end of his career...Polly will probably get dinged up in preseason ...Id say things dont look all that good for your stoolers.your way more predictable on offense per Haley....yes...Id say the bottom of the division will be battled out between you and baltiwhore for a change.

  • It is too early right now to assess unit strengths in the AFC North, because the FA period is by no means over and the draft hasn't happened yet. All teams have holes to fill. And until those holes are filled who knows which teams have the stronger unit. About the ONLY position you can talk about is the QB....and sure, the Browns don't have a SB winning QB like both the Rats and Squibs, nor a guy that has led the team twice to the playoffs like Andy Dalton.

And you might also say that the RB position can somewhat be assessed. No one the Steelers or Bengals can acquire in FA or the draft will put them ahead of the Browns with TR or the Rats with Ray Rice...even if one of them gets Steven Jackson.

Beyond that the TE/OL/WR/DL/LB/DB/ST positions are probably all still up in the air. So, let's not jump the gun.

Gipper did you even play sports growing up? Nevermind sports at a high level.

I played baseball and basketball in high school.

I played sports all my life and played two in college. I'm a tall guy 6'3. In my prime I had a 36 inch vertical and my 40 time was in the 4.6 range but it wasn't important for the sports I played. My vertical and explosion was and my tools allowed me to succeed. HOWEVER they weren't my only reason for being good at sports. I have very good hand eye coordination and body control. I'm mentioning these things because a lot of the reason I've had success isn't because I'm 6'3 and reasonably fast. I could run off a list of guys also extremely athletic that aren't tall, particularly strong or fast or they may have one of those traits. Are there prototype body builds? Absolutely but that doesn't always mean those players will succeed. Matt Jones is a good example of a guy that was a supreme athlete but never translated his skills to the football field. I think it's hilarious that you said I was being obtuse when most of your posts thrive on your ability to be exactly that, you play routinely ignore points for the sake of trying to maintain a strong argument. You do it ALL THE TIME, to the point that it feels like groundhog day when I get in an disagreement with you. Antonio Brown is a pretty damn good athlete and Sander is possibly the best route runner on the team but has dealt with a foot injury and was behind Wallace and Brown. Your argument is because he's not 6'3 and didn't bench 225 20 times he's not as good an athlete and you'd be mistaken. All of which brings me back to my initial question? Have you ever played an organized sport? The bench press is important if you aren't fast. Brown and Sanders are fast. Height is nice but it's not everything, especially at wide receiver so we can classify that as a moot distinction for athletic ability. I know a lot of 6 foot plus guys that are decently fast and pretty poor athletes. If all it took was putting up 225 a bunch of times, running fast and being tall we'd have a hell of a lot more than the top 1% of the population getting invited to the combine.

First off...who gives a flying fuck about what you did or didn't do. You are just another dumbass Steeler fan to everyone on this board, so you personal failures or successes are irrelevent.

What I do on here is where I am far more of a master at than you.

I make statements, and I back them up logically with facts. That is my profession.

Your profession as far as anyone else is concerned is to whine about the logic.

I made a statement: Gordon/Little were bigger/stronger/faster than the Steeler pair.

That fact was proven by me with statistical data.

But now you are jumping up and down like the Wild Man from Borneo stating that height/weight/speed/strength don't mean anything.

But...if, according to you, these combine stats don't mean anything, then why does the NFL test them?

Maybe because they, unlike you, do not think that PeeWee Herman should be playing in the NFL. Maybe they tnink they should have guys that can run fast, be strong, and be tall.

So, what you are saying is that the NFL is wrong in doing these combine tests because it in no way test "football skills".

Well, why don't you take that up with the NFL and tell them that they are doing things wrong. That they should do things the Vagitron way.

I further made the statement that the Browns receivers have not as yet fully developed their Wide Receiver skills; that the Steeler WRs probably at this point have more experience and thus more skills. But I also said that Gordon and Little had great potential, probably more than Sanders/Brown. And I now say that if these guys were just big guys that could run and be strong, but who couldn't play football...then no NFL GM would have picked them as second round draft picks if that is all they offered. But that GM...Tom Heckert in this case, did just that because he saw the potential in their skills.

And, you know what? I am going to trust Heckert's judgment more than I trust yours. These guys have potential, they have budding skills.

And we Browns fas see that. Other NFL teams see that. NFL commentators see that.

Apparently ONLY you don't see it.

So,yes, you are obtuse. And unlike Warden Norton of Shawshank Prison, there ain't a damn thing you can do about it. (and probably unlike Warden Norton, it fits in your case)

So, go back to being a dumb jock...which apparently is what you were trying to convince me you are, and let us nerds with brains do the thinking.

And another word of free advice: don't go mud wresting with a hog. The hog likes it and all you do is get filthy.

I was a great athlete because of those things but more importantly hand eye coordination and body control. All of which doesn't always guarantee it will translate to an organized sport. Bottom line your "combine olympic" statements mean only so much and that was my point. Alfred Morris check his combine numbers, Doug Martin as well. Two recent examples but if you want I can go back through several combines and flag a bunch of players that really put it together on the field but didn't have great combine numbers or the best physical intangibles. You may not give a damn about my athletic prowess in the same way I don't give a shit about what you do for a living. Seeing as you are I believe an attorney you'd think your arguments would be more iron clad. Instead you just babble on and on and drop a bunch of stats no one gives a damn about. Bottom line if you were a GM and didn't have college tape to look at guys like Morris and Martin would have been off your radar. Soooo Gip continue to post your random stats no one cares about, your trivia no one cares about and your movie references for the sake of being cute.

benjamin will be our return guy and who knows if a cb we pick up might not be able to do that as well. dawson was solid yes but it's time to put him out to pasture.

don't worry about out TE position, turner will make sure we are set there, so yea it's still a wash. your LB corp will NO WAY be as good as ours this year. NO WAY.

as far as drafting top 10, i'll take it any day.

    1. Why the hell would you use your stud corner to return kicks and punts?

    2. Why would you think Joe Haden would be better suited to do that than Antonio Brown who was returning punts/kicks

    3. I'm also not worried about your tight end position. We have a very proven, rock solid one in Miller. (as long as he recovers nicely from this injury, not a guarantee)

Steelers special teams > Browns special teams.

It's hard to take you seriously when you fail to read. He never mentioned Haden during his post. He talked of ACQUIRING a CB. There are plenty of CBs that have returned kicks over the years. Look them up.

  • thanks.

cornerbacks and the people they cover are usually the fastest people on the squad. why not utilize their speed. not saying everyone has the muster for it. you gotta be fearless.

i know i'm in the minority but i'd go after mathieu if available in the 3rd. do it in the D backfield and in the special team game. he will be a great nfl player.

and now he's got neon deon sandcastle as his mentor. say what!!

you sure put your foot in your mouth a lot. glad you're not someone important where people's lives are dependent on whether or not you get your facts straight.

My bad dude. Quoted you when I wanted to quote Hoorta, honest mistake.

  • Steelers went a year or two too long with a number of players and age/cap caught up all at once. I look for several lean years (no playoffs) while they try to retool.

Harrison has had a weird career. He bounced around (Steelers/Ratbirds/Steelers) and did not really start until he was 29. He had his peak seasons at a time when most players age in dog years. Done now. My cousin from Parma said he tried to shoot his HS coach in Ohio with a BB gun. True or not? Now they will see if Worilds can play. At Worilds's age I think Harrison was playing in NFL Europe or whatever they called it then.

Wallace was the most productive of those they let walk and IMHO has a lot left in the tank. Too bad he went to a stinky team.

Mendenhall had several good years but between injuries/suspension/attitude problems did not do much last year. Addition by subtraction. Redman was leading rusher anyway.

Hampton has been done for several years.

O-line on paper is pretty good, though they got injured a lot last year. Unfortunately games are not played on paper.

I look for another 8-8 year, thought that was about what they would do last year and they did.

I actually 100% agree. Especially with your first point. However most of those players have been playing at a pretty high level. Harrison would have had a great season if not for the surgeries and even then he had a pretty solid one all things considered. I wish we would have kept Mendenhall but he made that bed, so now he's gone. I'm very hopeful with the o-line because Adams was a monster in the run game, DeCastro will get a full off season and Foster has been solid at guard. Gilbert is the wild card but he's more comfortable at left tackle and I think he's got the tools to be pretty solid. I agree on Hampton but he took a pay cut to stick around. I won't be shocked to see 8-8 but I think they'll finish stronger. Buress and Cotchery will get more use and they're still good. As long is Ben is under center and healthy and the line plays like it should I'd say they're a 10 win team. It's going to hinge pretty heavily on health at certain spots tho. Woodley can't get laid up again, Ben needs to stay healthy and it would be nice to get Troy for a majority of the season. Apparently they didn't think much of Keenan Lewis because they didn't even offer the guy a contract (Colbert was on record ahead of FA that the team wasn't going to make FA offers before allowing players to test. I think Harrison was the lone exception and they wanted him to take a 30% pay cut supposedly with the ability to earn it back on performance incentives. 8-8 is a very real possibility if players get banged up. Are you a Browns fan? If so you should post here more lol

Bottom line your "combine olympic" statements mean only so much and that was my point.

No, that was not your point. Your point was merely to persist in your delusion that anything wearing black and yellow is better. Don't obfuscate.

You were show documented evidence that based on objective evidence the Browns WRs are superior athletes than the Steeler WRs. You just couldn't handle that truth, so you proceeded to blubber on about how those objective factors don't mean anything...how the only thing that matters is your opinion of your stupid garlic eating team.

    A. My arguments ARE iron clad. Otherwise you wouldn't be scrambling like a cockroach when the lights are turned on to try to diffuse them...unsuccessfully.

    B. Obviously YOU don't get it. The National Football League is the one that asks these players to run these drills in order to obtain those stats. Apparenttly THEY DO give a damn about them. But since that fact doesn't fit your delusion, you fecklessly denigrate them.

Bottom line if you were a GM and didn't have college tape to look at guys like Morris and Martin would have been off your radar. Soooo Gip continue to post your random stats no one cares about, your trivia no one cares about and your movie references for the sake of being cute.

I will continue to list stats that the NFL and other produce. After all, if the NFL didn't produce them, they wouldn't be out there for me to cite them.

I will continue to post trivia because a number of people like it, are entertained by it...AND are informed by it. Just because you lack either the interest or capability to participate doesn't mean others don't like it.

And I will continue to cite movies, song lyrics, historical quotes, literary quotes etc. etc. etc. because I am a man of wit and humor, and not a yeast infected, sphincter puckered dried up old humorless curmudgeon like you. Or does it really just come down to the fact that you are a dumb jock?

benjamin will be our return guy and who knows if a cb we pick up might not be able to do that as well. dawson was solid yes but it's time to put him out to pasture.

don't worry about out TE position, turner will make sure we are set there, so yea it's still a wash. your LB corp will NO WAY be as good as ours this year. NO WAY.

as far as drafting top 10, i'll take it any day.

Even a blind squirrel etc. etc. I agree with most of this. I wouldn't be using Haden to return punts and kicks, even if he is capable of it. The Browns must find a replacement for Cribbs. Benjamin is most likely to fill that role....or they may draft someone or pick up a FA.

And yes, Miller is more proven than any Browns TE.

And with the loss of Cribbs and maybe Dawson, it is certainly up in the air as to which teams STs are better.

Actually no clevelands special teams was ranked second only to baltimore, steelers special teams ranked below avg at 17th.

I will let the bet rest for now because there is no sense in arguing with a pussy that is so confident that the ship isn't sinking. Even though you practically went through you whole roster and had nothing but great things to say about every player, you still have to wait for the draft. And the steelers always nail the draft, so im not seeing why you feel the need to wait, other than you being a wishy- washy fagot ass homo. Sack up vagitron. Back up what you say for once, "mr confident" LoL

Any way Baltimore is reported to be looking at harrison.

You cant have a rational, intelligent debate with Vagi-tard...these kids today need affirmation and confidence building untill they reach 30-35 years old...I grew up in Collinwood/Euclid are...This little punk wouldnt have lasted 5 minutes in Collinwood...He wouldve had his lunch money taken from him on a daily basis and have run home crying to his momma after having his little faggot ass kicked. Its plain and simple...He exposes himself as a fraud every opportunity he gets only everyone recognizes it but him. But, I guess thats ok for him...Im Sure he has his surrogate Mommy/Girlfriend waiting to strap fuck his sad self when he gets home from selling Cell phones...or whatever it is, He does.

All teams draft players who become starters. Out of your list, the Steelers drafted 2, maybe 3 stars (Pouncey and Wallace for sure) and one's not on the team. However, Miami will regret paying Wallace $13M/yr once his speed diminishes. Timmons plays 1-2 games a season where he looks like the best MLB ever and the other 14 games he seems to be MIA. You don't pay a guy star money for 1-2 great games per season. Further, Woodley has become fat and lazy since getting paid like a star. He's 10x worse than Timmons, because he only plays 2-3 mediocre games a season before he strains his beer gut. Antonio Brown is a good reciever, but I'm not annointing him a star. He didn't exactly do much since signing a big contract. Now that Wallace is gone Brown will draw the double teams and likely become invisible. Maybe they can get him some platform shoes to run in so Ben can see where he's at. Oh, and Gilbert is an awful draft pick. They need to get rid of him before he rolls up another teammate's ankle. I think every offensive player that suffered an ankle injury the past two seasons was the direct result of Gilbert rolling up on it after he failed to hold his ground on a block.

The Steelers are plumb out of recievers behind Brown/Sanders. They got the geriatric justice league of america in Burress and Crotchety. Burress is more likely to catch a his own bullet in his ass than a pigskin pass. Yeah, I'm so excited. Crotchety may play one or two snaps a game. The Steelers are due to select the next Limas Sweed in this years draft. Oh and speaking of old timers, we are replacing Keenan Lewis with William "Burnt Toast" Gay. Yippee, cause I couldn't get enough of Ike Taylor getting toasted!!!

As for Baltimore, they are frankly better coached than Pittsburgh. Caldwell was for Baltimore what we needed out of Haley. I can't wait for more of Haley's predictable playcalling (run, run, pass on 3rd-12) and his twisted owner pleasing reliance on the ground game...especially with the turds have lined up in our backfield. You have one of the best downfield QBs in the game playing dink and dunk one of every three plays. All hail, Beanie "Blown-Knee" Wells!!! He'll right our ship for sure. Anyways, I have more faith that Ozzie Newsome and Jim Harbaugh will correct Baltimore's defensive shuffle than LeBeau will fix Pittsburgh's ills. There just ain't any more rabbits to pull out of LeBeau's hat, Casey Hampton ate them all. Plus the Harbaugh/Flacco tandem hasn't missed the play-offs once now has it? Cleveland and Cincinnati are far better off defensively than Pittsburgh and possibly Baltimore. Cincinnati has the most talent on paper...yet somehow the Bengals find a way to muck it up...Maybe I'm wrong, maybe the Browns will actually win the division this year.

Lastly, I wouldn't bet a better team record with Erie Dawg this year, let alone the Super Bowl scheme he's trying to con you into.

    Excellent post.

You were making alot of sense up until the end. There is no con or schemes going on, he asked to bet me. So I accepted. It's put up or shut up time, He is always so confident that they are contenders, but when they fail its always excuses, but he claims the roster has pro-bowl caliber players at every position. Go back and read some of the classics. Just a friendly bet that's all. He may have to take a weekend off from tipping his sister at the strip club to pay up on his bet ...but other than that, its all good.

First, Tron is hard to read...he doesn't use paragraphs to break up his ramblings, so I often can't finish reading his posts. He must've missed alot of English classes due to his athletic prowless. Second, if he's betting with you that the Steelers make the Super Bowl...it's kinda like watching a Retard who can't count being robbed by a cashier... or maybe it's because he's a black 'n' gold fan that I feel obligated to say something... or maybe he's just in denial of the bad season coming that he's acting foolish...or maybe it's because you are a Brown's fan that I assume you are trying to con him...or maybe he's just trying to gleen the phone number of the Steelers fan in your sig...I'll just leave it at that.

Im in columbus currently and am either posting from my phone or my kindle fire. I usually break up my posts and i never said a word about the superbowl. Apparently Erie is of the opinion that a failed steeler season is not making the super bowl or the afc champ game. We will work out the parameters but the afc champ game nor the bowl will be involved. (Gipper i will try and respond to your breakdown at some point. 40 times and height are two pieces of a much larger pie. A fact you choose to ignore out of ignorance or your unwillingness to weaken your argument.)
