Joe Wilson is right….again.
Remember Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) and his outburst at Obama’s 2010 State of the Union address? Here’s a refresher:
Obama said his healthcare plan would not cover illegal aliens – twice. Wilson shouted “You lie!” to the outrage of many, and for which he was later censured by Pelosi & Co. Democrats said it was ridiculous to suggest that illegal aliens would EVER be able to receive Obama Care benefits.
Wilson was right, of course, as SWA pointed out and way back in August 2011, when we revealed how $8.5 million in HHS grants were going to provide “community health centers” for illegal alien migrant workers.
And last night Joe Wilson was proven right yet again – but on a far more massive scale.
Senate Democrats defeated a Budget amendment to deny access to Medicaid and Obama Care to the millions of illegal aliens granted “temporary legal status” under any future “comprehensive immigration reform” legislation.
The amendment, which failed 43 to 56, was offered by Senate Budget ranking member Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.
“If a person is in our country illegally and they are rewarded with some legal status, do they then immediately become eligible for federal health care benefits,” Sessions said. “It’s a different situation than someone who came legally and has got legal status.”After the vote Sessions said in a release that the failure to adopt his amendment “will dramatically accelerate the insolvency of our entitlement programs and is unfair to American workers and taxpayers.”Sessions’ Amendment also exposed potential divisions in the so-called “Gang of Eight” group working in secret to devise an amnesty plan to shove down our throats.
All Democrats — including “gang” members Dick Durbin of Illinois, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Charles E. Schumer of New York and Michael Bennet of Colorado — opposed the amendment. They were joined by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska. All other Republicans — including immigration negotiators Marco Rubio of Florida, John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona — supported the amendment.
Sessions contended the vote bodes poorly for the state of negotiations. “The result of today’s vote places immigration reform in jeopardy,” Sessions said.
Amen. When the American people find out about this treacherous vote, it better damn well torpedo the push for massive illegal alien amnesty, or there will be hell to pay come 2014.
Oh, and Democrats now owe Joe Wilson one big apology.

It's an unwelcome consequence of bipartisan ship.
Since Republicans and Democrats will likely be pretty close on the immigration issue the Democrats are going to necessarily have to go much harder left to keep control of the issue.
I don't think the general public will be happy with that but the Hispanic population most certainly will.
And that's the idea, locking in your core group.

Turn away someone having a stroke or a heart attack? It's unlikely. If no one's paying for that it will drive your premiums through the roof. Yes or no?
If you put them in a prison for being illegal now you're not only paying for health care but also room, board and food, yes or no?
So what's the solution then? Deportation doesn't work, at least not permanently, so what's your solution? Round them up and stick them in gas chambers?

Enforce the laws. Strengthen the border. Let local law enforcement enforce federal immigration laws like the sheriff in AZ who keeps getting messed with by the Obama admin. I guess just give in an let them have their way is your solution.

I don't have a solution other than to live with the changes.
I would say the correct answer is die hards answer. Enforce the law.
But by enforcing the law you will lose the voting bloc.
So the law will no longer be, well the law.
So, as Americans, our hands are tied.
The 15,000,000 illegals aren't going anywhere and the legal immigrants are fine with that.
This is yet another situation were people think history began 10 years ago.
People come here 1 way or the other because their home country sucks.
And since it was probably a struggle just to stay alive there they are amazed that a little hard work pays off so well in America.
Look at the demographic change over the last couple 100 years.

I agree. They are already here, and are determined to be here. Get them on board and paying taxes now rather than sending them back and having to do it ad infinitum.

Having lived in an area with an extremely large illegal population, I want them out. Obviously most of you live in areas with little or no illegal population. I lived in Manassas, VA which looks like a suburb of Tijuana, Mexico. Apartments with 20 people or more living in a unit. 30-50 people standing on corners drinking beer and pissing on the side of buildings. Harassing women. Driving drunk without insurance. You might change your views in that situation. Most of the work they did was painting, lawn care and menial carpentry labor, and not very good. So I doubt they will take over for the retiring baby boomers.

The difference was a change in policy in allowing immigrants to the country. we should be encouraging them to show up and work hard in this country it is how we were founded. I see this as a parallel to our misguided policy on drugs, the drugs are here and will always be here why bother fighting it. Embrace them and use it to your advantage. I can not fault someone for leaving some 2nd or 3rd world hole and trying to do better for their family, especially when my own family benefited in the exact same way.

Lets see live where I can be beheaded simply for existing or saying the wrong thing, or run away to a place where the worst that happens is I get deported and am for the most part treated as a human.

You don't have to convince me. They routinely find 50 decapitated bodies at a whack on the side of the road there. Much as its a beautiful destination, down in yucatan, ill be taking my vacations elsewhere for, most likely, forever.
