Because I goofed and forgot to type his name. I will re-edit to put him in. FYI, he was 0-1 in his career starts.

  • My top 5:

    Otto Graham

    Frank Ryan

    Bill Nelsen

    Brian Sipe

    Bernie Kosar

These were all fairly big time postseason winners for the Browns, except Sipe, and Sipe was Sipe.

    My bottom 5:

    Seneca Wallace

    Todd Philcox

    Jeff Garcia

    Paul McDonald

    Mike Phipps

Mike Phipps probably wasn't as bad as we thought at the time, or as some others, but he had the unfortunate situation of: A. Being traded for for Paul Warfield, B. Being a very high draft pick, and C. Following up on the Graham/Ryan/Nelsen winning tradition and being the QB of some not very good Browns teams in the early to mid 70s.

Philcox should have never been allowed off the bench...that was BBs choice, but he wasn't any good and he became BBs sacrificial lamb.

Paul McDonald had the misfortune of following the popular Brian Sipe, and we wanted him to be the lefthanded Brian Sipe, but he wasn't.

Garcia was a square peg in a round hole here.

Wallace was a whiner and a sniper and thought more of himself than anyone else did...and he really sucked pretty badly.

Yeah, the great Spurgeon the sturgeon. The guy the Browns picked instead of Tom Brady. 🙂
