    Not me.

Weeden is a 1970's QB. He runs like he has a piano on his back. The game has passed by guys like Weeden. Nowadays, you can throw like Unitas or Namath, but you'd better be able to move better than them. Weeden is slow on foot and in the helmet. (But he has a cannon of an arm... LOL)

Manning, Manning & Brady ... 6 rings in the last decade.

    Joe Flacco current ring holder.

    They all run like deer.

Yes, and then you have a guy like RGIII, who could run like a deer- until he got his knee blown out- then a few para Olympics guys beat him in the 40 in a wheelchair race in the Orthopedic Ward. 🙂

you're comparison of TR and hillis is laughable

    Hillis in 2010 with McCoy

    270 carries, 1177 yds, 11 TDs

    61 catches 477 yds, 2 TDs

    Richardson in 2012 with Weeden

    267 carries, 950 yds, 11 TDs

    51 catches, 367 yds, 1 TD

    So, Weeden got

    227 less rushing yds

    10 less catches

    110 less receiving yards

    1 less TD

I'm not comparing their talent or potential, just the stats. So, it's laughable b/c it's true???

Looks to me like Richardson got 227 less rushing yards, 10 less catches, 110 less receiving yards and 1 less TD.

  • Don't be jackasses. You're looking at Peyton Hillis' stats from 2010 the year Colt was a rookie with no reps with the starting team until the Pittsburgh game. Weeden had the #3 overall pick of the draft and future probowler in Trent Richardson, for god's fucking sake you bunch of sad sacks, Trent ran all season with broken ribs while Peyton sat out because he was "sick", pulled hammy, ect., ect... I supported the shit out of Hillis in 2010 but the dude couldn't hold a candle to what Trent Richardson brings when he's in the game. Learn your football... you "little lombardys".

I almost forgot... Weeden also knew that he would be the starting QB from day 1 simply from where he was picked in the draft. He took all the reps. Don't even try to compare Weeden's situation with Colt's, it's ubsurd.

  • I think you guys are being a bit prejudiced towards Banner. From what I've heard from the guy he's been pretty straight foward, sure you get your typical NFL charade but they all do that. I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, sure he looks like a nerdy beady eyed jew, but I won't hold that against him.

I can't recall them ever stating they wouldn't add any new QB's, in fact the whole time since this new staff took over they've been saying they would, not directly but in that they never verbally committed to Weeden nor gave him much if any praise... so that tells you all you need to know.

Hillis had a hell of a year in 2010 but he blew his load and that's the best you are ever going to see from him.

You would expect Richardson to outperform Hillis' 2010 stats multiple times during his career, hopefully starting this season.

About the main topic, what exactly is a franchise Quarterback? Someone who can wins you games with his arm alone? Sure Weeden has the potential to be that, but he's 29 and you need more than just a QB - hell I think the standards have been raised on franchise QB's anyhow, in todays game you need the arm and the feet, e.g,Rodgers,Luck,Newton,RG3 ... the Mannings and Bradys are a dying breed.

Was Joe Montana a franchise QB? imo no... He was an excellent system QB with a great supporting cast, Marino was a franchise QB with no supporting cast.

Slowness on foot and in the helmet is a bad combination.

  • yeah if all it took was a strong arm guys like anderson and russell would be HOFers.

I don't think BW3 is slow in the helmet. He looked no worse than many rookie QBs over the years, adapting to a new program/lifelstyle etc.

Right... both inexperienced quarterbacks thrown into new systems, for a reigning 4-12 or 5-11 team, that lacks offensive playmakers at all positions, and with some of the worst offensive coaching I've ever seen...

    Just absurd to compare...

Trent Richardson looked extremely average when running between the tackles last year. What is with you and unproven turds?

The guy is a fuxking idiot. Just let him and his Retarded opinions be, it does no good to try and talk sense with him.

Probably the "having millions of dollars" new lifestyle.

New lifestyle meaning being in the NFL, and having more money than he ever did before. Just leading the life of a pro athlete. I know he was a minor league baseball player, but that is different imo.

I would agree. But we also had a head coach who was forcing a ridiculous outdated offensive system on a QB that it didn't fit. I'm willing to give Weeden another season with Norv coaching him. If he doesn't get it this year and play considerably better, he's never going to get it.

I get sick of people saying this offense or that offense is "outdated"...I hate to tell you this...but offenses comes down to a couple things...timing of when plays are called...and the talent you have running them...Weather it be trap plays, sprint option or deep outs, slants and hook routs...Passing is contingent on having proper foot work and mastering your hitch steps. This plays a crucial part in aiding in accuracy...and the timing in wich patterns are run. You cant fake basic fundamentals,no matter what offense your running.

  • Let Me also add...The Steelers offense is about as predictable as it gets...but theyve won championships with it...

  • Kinda helps that Ben extends plays like no one I've ever seen.
