  • draft aside, bengals are now the best team in our division and we play to our potential we will compete with them for the title.

wow! the clouds are clearing and the sky is looking blue!

nah. just cracked a ltr of courvoisier.

still if weeds plays like HE Fing SHOULD we will be right there.

  • I like the Mingo pick but with so many saying he is the "boom or bust" type well... I don't know how that could not make you nervous as a Browns fan.

We are so used to the bust factor that when you see a possibility of it then we assume thats whats going to happen. Any player in the top 10 can be a bust. Is not being an all pro left tackle in the AFC a bust? What do they gauge bust on, We have J. Thomas, who is the all pro in the AFC, if Fisher does not dethrone him, is he bad, same goes for Luke Joeckel. Only time will tell about Mingo and the rest of our guys. If Mingo gets 4-7 sacks as a rookie, I think thats pretty respectable, he should get more with Hortons Defense for sure though. I think we are going to surprise this year and win the division. Last year we more then held our own with less talent then this year on D, and we added some good players. We lost 6 games by 7 or less, and were out coached by a few more. We have some greats coaches this year that will coach these young guys up and put them in position to win more then last year.

That's setting the bar a little low for me, numbers aren't anything but is it too much to ask for a top ten pick to be talked about among the likes of Watt,Aldon Smith, Von Miller by year 2?

Lets hope thats the way it is, our D has been the last few years a bend but not break team, having the pass rushers we have now, I think we will be the Oh fuck, lets try a screen pass Defense.

  • 😉 I find it amazing that Sheard and Mingo will compete for the job instead of Mingo since he was a 1st round pick getting the job. I hope he can beat out Sheard since Jabaal has never played there.

  • Rubin, Taylor, Bryant, Bryant, Kruger, Kruger, Sheard, Winn, Hughes, Jackson, Mingo, Johnson... am I missing anybody from the front seven? I know I am, this seems like a little overkill but for sure it's set to be a strength on this team, which is a good thing. The front seven has needed addressed to this magnitude for a long, long time. I'm sure that we'll field a really strong front seven that should be suitable for many years to come.

The secondary needs addressed to this magnitude next off season and if it is, then we should have a top 5 defense for quite a while.

I'm looking forward to just how Horton will kill the offense with these guys. Surely the defensive side is set to take some positive steps. I'm really pulling for Slaughter as he could be a steal if he gets healthy, plus he's got a killer name. If he and McFadden can do the job they were picked to do, things could be looking up. Haden, McFadden, Ward and Slaughter seems like a nice group, however half of this equation is yet to be proven.

I agree that the offense wasn't as bad as it looked last season. Shurmur is a dolt, and with Chud and Turner, we'll see these guys get better and better. I've been pimpin Cameron since before he got drafted and I'm hoping that since he seems to be getting a chance to be the man this year that he steps up. Richardson is probably the best runningback in the league and we've got a great offensive line. I'm hoping that Weeden can be more consistent in this new offense and that we find a FB that can open up the lanes for Trent to mow down the field.

Fingers crossed. Wishbone broken. Lucky rabbit's foot in hand. I'm thinking playoffs.

  • man with who we have now albeit even draft picks we are going to be tremendously strong across the front 2 lines. who plays where and at what depth and at what down doesn't concern me. just get them all in there and have them eat up some offenses.

i wouldn't trade or even consider cutting anyone of the browns' DL and LB corp at this point.

there's a couple of sketchy dudes though in the secondary who might get swiped off the list unless they pick it up a notch or two.

  • I really, really like our Wideouts as well. Little, Gordon, Bess and Benjamin will get some good mismatches and with the OC we have now, I'm sure that there game will really start to improve. I think that all the WRs on the team will gain a lot just by watching the way Bess practices and the way he runs routes and catches the ball. Bess was a good grab plus he's not over the hill yet, which makes me happy.

Both are converting from DE to OLB, which will be something in the works. Look at Ware and a lot of the guys who are DE's in college and make the transition, and I am sure it is not easy to do. However these guys are not 300 lb guys they are in the 240-270 range, plenty big to get to the QB. You remember who we had on D when Mangini switched us to the 3-4, no where near the talent we have now. Honestly, if the D is not top 10 this year it will be a disappointment, we have the guys to be. Lets hope no one goes to Vegas and takes some kind to stimulant to stay awake.

Agreed, look at the depth on other teams in our league and you will see that we have a formidable WR core. If garden of Weeden can stretch the Defense and teams start to respect him, Trent will run fucking Hog wild on them. Pretty excited to have the personnel we have and coaches we have this year. Proven Coordinators that have developed some good talent!
