Attention Tebow Lovers

Can someone tell whether Tebow courts the media or does it just follow him because of the Christian thing?
I haven't read much in the way of him bigging himself up, but he seemed to get a lot of shit from the media. Am I missing something?
It's funny considering the amount of players who spend the summer staring across court rooms at judges and yet get an easier ride than he does.

A good blog post about how Belichick handled the potential media circus day one.

It's popular to torture the christian. If he were muslim or atheist, he would be left alone.

I didn't know Tebow was married to a supermodel.
yeah she's got long scraggly hair and a burning bush.

i don't think it is him so much as his association with his family's right wing evangelistic tribe. they follow him like hippies follow the grateful dead or manson for that matter
nobody wants to be preached to. (i'm speaking of course for us free willed open minded individuals).

you don't need to look at the blog. he answered all of the questions he would take on the matter (three) stating: "he's a talented player, who is smart and works hard."
when asked the 3rd time he said: "i've already answered that question twice. he's a talented player, who is smart and works hard."
bill, you're going to have to do better than that with the tebow circus fully encamped in foxborough now.

Tebow will produce and be used just about as much as he was with the Jets and everyone will say how much of a genius Belichik is and how smartly he uses Tebow.

that's the thing, Bill is the perfect coach for this stuff. He just shuts the media down and says it plainly. They picked up Tebow on a non guarantee contract. Its a win win for the Patriots.

I mean, open mindedness is predicated on keeping an open mind...and you seem to be awfully set on believing that him and his family's views are wrong.
I'm saying, let him and his cronies preach whatever they want to whoever they want. If they want to tell me to believe in Jesus, it doesn't bother me. I'm going to believe what I want no matter what they tell me anyway.
If they tell me I'm going to Hell, hey, that's their opinion. They have just as much power over where ill spend my eternity as I do....that is to say, none at all.
I could sit here and claim that you're a Wookie until I'm blue in the face, but it doesn't make it true.

Hey, it's too bad some guys don't like it that Tebow is the Billy Graham of the NFL. The guy is sincere, and if you don't like his preaching or religious beliefs, don't listen.
Other way around- his mom & dad are (were) missionaries.

NO. DON"T SHOW IT! i don't care what he believes in and i'm not going to get into some religious discussion. believe me I DON'T LISTEN.
BUT do we have to see a shot of every time he tebows or leads a prayer at the end of the game? sure i can turn the channel BUT IT'S THE FRIGGIN GAME I'M WATCHING!!
i fucking guarantee you if it were a group of muslim players doing the same thing, CBS or NBC or NFL network would find a reason not to show them praising their god. the double standards in USA and sports media is what gets under my skin.
if you truly want to know about the subject and not just choose a side read this article from time magazine (yeah it's not yahoo sports):
http://ideas.time.com/2011/10/14/god-and-the-nfl-what-tim-tebows-celebrity-says-about-america/
educate yourself about how he and his followers affect the nfl and each team he goes to before decrying i'm trying to just write some anti-religious slant.
btw. cortez and the spanish were supposedly missionaries too. how'd that work out for the aztecs and mayans?

You know how I know our forum consists of a bunch of faggots? The most popular topic on The Browns Board is Tim Tebow.

Well, the same could be said for Jailbird Johnson's antics when he actually could score touchdowns- about as pertinent to the game as that other Bungle doing the "Icky Shuffle". I didn't care for that crap either.
Like it or not, Tebow is about his religion- so some people don't like he's over the top about it, boo hoo. According to Wiki, the guy and his parents are fundamental Baptists, and fer sure, I don't agree with a lot of that particular religious viewpoint. The Crusades were all about religious zelatory- plenty of other wars too. Tim's going to have quite a profitable post football career on the preaching\inspirational circuit even if he never plays another down. I heard his mom can pull down $5k to show up for a preaching gig, and I'd bet Tim pulls down a tad more than that. I'll leave my personal feelings about the the Tebow haters private.

you're right about the crusades but forgot to mention the middle east now. all about religion to them, oil for us.
i don't hate the guy. i hate the attention the bum (QB not person) he gets.
i'm sure he will have a great post NFL career as well doing his thing. it's just going to be a lot sooner than his fans think.

& on that we can agree Mik.
I don't get all the attention this guy garners either. Belichick getting drilled with questions for 10 minutes about his third string quarterback, who has a non-guaranteed contract? Really? Like what's all the fuss? -
I already mentioned that above, thanks. He also didn't "beat the xxxx out of the Steelers" He beat the hell out of Ryan Mundy who is no longer on the team on the same 3 or 4 pass plays. Clark obviously couldn't play because of his sickle cell trait and the safety depth beyond Clark and Troy was bad OR really inexperienced. Each and every time Mundy was biting run when Tebow was running that play action roll out.
Excuses are like assholes. Everybody has one, and Tim Tebow fucked yours.
was at that game...it was epic in person!Excuses are like assholes. Everybody has one, and Tim Tebow fucked yours.
i became a TT fan that day.

Tebow might get a gig, where he belongs....or does he even belong there. You need to be quick on the draw in the Arena League:
There should be no such thing as Tebow lovers. His claim to fame will be the ghastly playoff win against the Steelers. Warren Moon was on record saying that he's not good enough to start in the CFL. There was interest for him as a back up. He may actually be a good fit in the Arena league but man it's gotta suck to be that dude. He was reach drafted in the first damn round, then sent to a different team and now he's out of the league all together. The dude would be smart to repurpose his game and become a fullback. I think he'd be a good full back, maybe even a great one.

Well, give me a ghastly playoff win, against the Stoolers or anyone. A playoff win also means he got them to the playoffs.
How many of those have we Browns had in recent decades??
Not a "Tebow lover" (but what would be wrong with that??) -- he can't pass. But he can lead a team to the playoffs. And win. How'd Manning do with the Broncos in the playoffs last year???
If it takes a lousy QB for the Browns to win a 'ghastly' playoff victory, I'm on board.
Especially beating Pittsburgh on a 80-yard, sudden-death TD.
Yeah, that would be just terrible.

My take is that TT uses the spotlight that the media keeps shining upon him to promote his God.... a far better use than the self enrichment for which many/ most use their fame. I think the guy's motivation is genuine. But that is not the topic...
Bill B. has proved he can get the best out of players other teams consider "poison", e.g., Randy Moss. Furthermore once he gets their best, he moves them... most times for more than he parted with to bring them to the Pats. TT may well, finally become the "WildDawg" QB he was supposed to be with the Jets. In return for his QB time, he may see time at other positions TBD. It would not surprise me if some of this time was on the defensive side of the ball.
Would I want him on the Browns? No... but then Bill B. is not our HC.
If Bill B. were our HC, then would I want TT on the team? No, but if Bill B. did, I would accept him.
