Preseason Opener Thursday Night!

Just reading Twitter that Trent Richardson and T.J. Ward won't play tomorrow against the Rams. I'm not going to link all the people who said but I believe it's come straight from the horse's mouth. Dion Lewis is getting the nod at RB, haven't seen who will replace Ward. I'm looking forward to seeing what Lewis does with the first teamers though.

has anyone heard how long chud plans on playing starters vs rams?
Approximately 1 Quarter:

-
I expect weeden to have 210 yards and 3 td's by the end of his run in the 1st. I wanna see travis Benjamin streak down field every other play.

A lot of talk and a ot of hope.
Ah yes, preseason. This is where mental masturbation is at the season's high. Some of you really didn't have to and shouldn't have posted, because this is the same scenatio every year since 1999. Here is the generic, fill-in-the-blank nonsense.
- In _ _ _ _ _ _ we trust. Phil Sewage was your first bastardization of In God We Trust. Chud will soon draw your rage.
- The last guy sucked,
- This year we finally fielded a team
- Our O-line is finally solid
On and on it goes, mental masturbation projecting that all the ills of last year, in one felled swoop have been fixed and FINALLY............ YES YES YES... FINALLY (jerk, jerk, jerk, can you hear the jerking off?)....... we are on teh glorious road to recovery.
If you like 4 wins? Yeah, this is gonna be great.
The Browns talent is no better than it was in 2013. There has been no addition of meaningful talent, only some shitheads who you guys BELIEVE are the fix, only based on the fact that the guys who you applauded last year,as " the fix", sucked when it was all said and done.
There is no real uper echalon talent on this team. We don't really have anyone, save Joe Thomas (who still was a dumb pick and should have been traded to move up a few years ago). who would start for any of teh 2013 playoff teams. Weeden is going to get creamed.
-
We are playing the Rams. Wow. The Rams people, it's going to be a slaughter. The Browns 35, The Rams 10

doubt it.
the rams are no slouch. a lot of people have them doing better than us this year.
don't jinx us with your first preseason game pick.
and booty loaf (???) you really stepped up with that 2nd post. man i'll take that bet all day long.
-
Some crisp play from the O without a doubt would put a smile one everyone's face in here this evening; however, considering the reports from camp thus far I am not that optomistic....either way NO INJURIES!
Let the games begin!!!!

Will the Tavern be open?

Will the Tavern be open?
no, it's specifically closed during Browns preseason games, sorry

Why don't the admins simply change your name to Doom and Gloom Ghoolie?
Sorry Ghoolie....but you are engaging in the same mental masturbation that anyone else is...you are just doing it in a negative manner.
In fact, since you like to taunt others with your negativity, why not just change your name to "The Master Baiter".
Imagine that: a fan being optimistic about his team's chances before one down has been played. Excuse us all for being human.
Beyond that:
A. I don't know that anyone is claiming that this team has corrected all its ills in one fell swoop. Many do believe that incremental improvements have been made.
B. If you don't think the likes of Paul Kruger/Mingo/Groves isn't a talent improvement over Kaluka Maiava, Scott Fujita, Chris Gocong, then those who evaluate talent professionally would call you an idjit.
C. If you don't think the Greg Little and Josh Gordon are not an improvement over Mohammed Massaquoi and Brian Robiskie, then those who evaluate talent would call you an idjit.
Now, whether or not there is real "upper echelon" talent on this team....beyond JT and Joe Haden.....admittedly remains to be seen. Yes, that is where that optimism comes in.
But one thing I think is fair to say: The talent on the Ravens and the Steelers appears to be diminished compared to last year for the Rats, and the previous few years for the Squibs. Have the Browns closed that gap: I say, yes, to some extent. At least that gap is narrowed, whether or not it is closed.

Will the Tavern be open?
The Tavern will be open.
If anyone has television tips or internet links, post them here.
Let the Chud era begin with a crisp 80 yard TD drive and no major injuries ...

Top tier talent on offense: JThomas, AMack, TRich
Top tier talent on defense: PTaylor, DJackson, JHaden
These six guys would easily start on ANY team. They are the foundation of our young team. Here's to hoping guys like Weeden, Gordon, Cameron, Little, DBryant, Kruger, Mingo, and Ward step up and lead this team to more wins than losses. That's the hope. That's the goal...
Go Browns!!

I just want to see how things are progressing.
- Where are the O & D are at this point
- Are we tripping over ourselves or are we actually making progress somewhere.
- Do our players work with Horton's D
- Is Weeden really that much better than the other QB's, and does he look like he's finally starting to get it
- Are our Receivers catching the ball
- Between our O-Line and RB's, are we looking like we'll be able to run better this year
- Are there any under the Radar players that we may want to keep an eye on
It's early and it's the first Pre-Season game, but we should get at least a vague idea of where we're at.

i place the blame on the stoopid fuckin mayor and the stoopid city council and the people who voted down his desire for help in building a new stadium.
without modell there would be no championships, no cardiac kids, no dawg pound and no kosar era.
yeah we sat down for 3 years. did anyone learn anything in those years when we knew we were coming back to bring a winner back with them.....................
uh, no.
here's to banner and the future. no one ever said being a browns fan is like a walk in the park.

They're supposed to play a Quarter.
Some of the items are related to our depth, and others will be a reflection of our new Coaching Staff (which is another one I failed to list).
So yes, I think we'll get a vague idea of where we're at and what we need to work on . . . I'm not saying we can project the Season based on what we see tonight.

If you look at my my original post, i gave credit for everything before 1995, which included 30 years plus of Modell ownership.
I don't think anybody has too much of a problem with how he ran the team before HE MOVED IT.
If George Steinbrenner had moved the Yankees to Florida in the mid-90's, and Yankee stadium sat empty for three years until finally the Yankees came back and were basically the Kansas city Royals while the team in Florida won two World Series and pounded the new "Yankees" team every year ... Do you think Steinbrenner would be admired in NY for winning a couple of championships in the 70's, or do you think he would be vilified for being the guy that moved the team of Ruth, Dimaggio and Mantle to fucking Florida and leaving New York with a piece of shit team that couldn't get out of its own way?
So should Art Modell be admired for putting out some good football teams over 30 years or vilified for being the guy that moved the team of Paul Brown, Otto Graham and Jim Brown to fucking Baltimore and leaving Cleveland with a piece of shit team that can't get out of its own way?
Sure there would be "Steinbrenner apologists" who blamed the mayor of NYC for the city not building a stadium fast enough, blah, blah, blah ... but real Yankee fans would say "Fuck him!". Just like real Browns fans say "Fuck Modell!"
It's not Modell's fault that the Lerners were fucking incompetent and hired assbags to run the team, but it's his fault that we were in that situation. I don't give a shit about the mayor, or his family, or poor fucking Baltimore ... You Don't Move The Fucking Yankees out of New York, and You Don't Move the Fucking Browns out of Cleveland.
Fuck Modell.

i know. i just don't get why they are still doing this. i watched some of the HOF game and most of the veterans that played on the lines played like they were playing against their own teammates in practice. no one was getting chopped, armed in the chin and knocked on their ass.
now when the 2nd and 3rd stringers (wannabees) get in there they try to kill everyone.
i hope there is something to gleen from this game tonight and all for the positives. if our QB(s) go out there and throw 12 picks combined i'll prob puke on myself.

good analogy, except the NYC would never let the yankees leave (people would be mailing in their paychecks to help build the stadium), unlike the city of cleveland who dared modell to, and he called their bluff.
so do i say FUCK CLEVELAND and the people in it who did squat?
