This from a Steeler fan on the link you posted...I cant wait to hear Faggot-tard spin on this!

"Born and raised Steeler fan here, but you suck up yinzers sicken me. Just call a spade a spade. No matter what happens you say the same thing "They're the Stillers... they have 6 Lombardi trophies... this team will win regardless of who's out there." Talent is needed to win in the NFL. Some schmuck from Bowie State (Redman) is not going to carry this team all the way to the Super Bowl. It's just unimaginable to you ppl that the Steelers may be on a downward trend. Wake up. They say the Steelers are one of the only teams without cheerleaders... Trust me the city is full of them."

I don't see Redman being the starter when the season begins but if he is so be it. They'll have to platoon until Bell comes back, it's not ideal but it's not the end of the world either. Stephens-Howling has also looked very good so they'll run a 3 headed attack until Bell is ready to come back. It's not going to require surgery so the timetable for a return is anyone's guess. As far as your quote above is concerned people outside of Pittsburgh just don't see the doom and gloomers. They're wearing black and gold year after year and there are PLENTY on my primary board. It's the preseason and already a dozen are freaking the fvck out like it's the end of the world. We won't know anything until the regular season begins but our rookies have looked very good, Ben is healthy, Troy is healthy and Woodley is back in shape. Shark Thomas and Robert Golden our back up safeties have also proven capable in the slot as corners so we won't have to carry as many cb's in to the regular season. All of which will also us to keep a couple of the promising lb's on the active roster that have showed real promise thus far in the preseason. I just can't wait to watch Shark blow people up and have to read about "what could have been" on this board when the Steelers traded next year's 3rd for that 4th. He's a missile

He's a munchkin missile then...mor like a drone. What is he, like 5'6? No more than 5'8".

(Besides...with those picks from next year the Browns can probably get someone much better.

What does he play again? FS? Gipson is also a missile. ICBM sized, not drone sized)

He's 5'9 with over a 40 inch vertical. He's already proving to be a tackling machine and the dude is a physical specimen. Enormous, especially for his size. Oh and he's fast as hell and covering receivers in the slot. The trade is gonna bite you in the ass. I also thought the Browns wanted to win now, isn't one of your positions of concern safety opposite ward?

    A. I wouldn't ejaculate over the guy just yet. He is a rookie playing primarily against other second and third stringers. Ben Gay looked like he was the second coming of Jim Brown in preseason.

    B. You make the foolish assumption that if the Browns had not traded that pick to the Steelers for next years, that they would have taken this kid. NOT. If they wanted him and thought that he would fullfill a need for them, they would have taken him and not traded that pick. The Browns talent evaluators may not have had him as highly rated and therefore passed. (but that is another story altogether....questioning the motivations for the Browns making those trades may have little or nothing to do with what talent was available out there...but with who was picking that talent.)

    C. No. Free Safety is not a concern. It may have been a concern in the minds of some fans who don't think that UDFAs should get a chance. But T. Gipson has that position covered highly adequately.

No ones arguing that Thomas has great potential. None or most of us are not happy we helped you guys draft him..Im huge hater of Mike Lombardi from his first tour of duty here...He was and is still in My mind a complete moron who has no business being on any teams FO, Secondly...you cant ignore the fact that your O-line is completely awful. So awful I dont think DeCastro..whose still a rookie by NFL experience and Pouncey arent enough to hide and buffer the sieve that is your OL. Im almost betting Ben wont survive the first 1/4 of the season. Landry Jones looks very slow and tenative (yes I know hes a rook)...Sorry to tell you but camelot is not what it once was...and that guys post summed it up..I give him credit for atleast fathoming the inevitable..He was dead nuts on ..You somehow cant bring yourself to accept whats happening...but hey..If you want to stay blind...thats your choice..

PS: I'll also add that Troy will be lucky to play half the season..him and Keisel's tanks are near about empty...Hayward has not lived up to the billing so far...so keep that in mind.

I'm kinda torn both ways here about the Bell injury. Being a Browns fan that can't stand the stealers, I don't mind him missing a bunch of time. Being a Groveport Madison H.S. grad., there is a part of me that wants to see Bell have some success in the NFL. I hope he has a speedy recovery and does well, except when he plays the Browns!

And I believe the guys name is Shamarko not shark. The nickname doesn't make him a baller....

It's his nickname and it's easier to type out. Sue me. He's also already proving he's a baller by leading the team in tackles thus far and playing two positions. The Steelers NEVER trade future draft picks but they did for this guy, at the very least that says something about his character, his work ethic and his intangibles. I don't care if he's playing against 2nd team players, 1st team players, 3rd team players whatever. The guy is all over the field, making heavy hits. He's very much a Bob Sanders clone. We'll just have to wait and see if he puts it together in the regular season.

Yea, like I said....don't go having a premature ejaculation. I think he looks like a good player...but then, so did Mohammed Massaquoi. So, lets wait.

It would not have bothered me at all if the Browns had taken him. Fans and pundits declared that the Browns needed a FS.

But, apparently, the Browns FO and coaching staff felt otherwise. They felt, again, apparently, that the position was in good hands with Gipson and Badmothershutyourmouthemosi. And perhaps they were right as those guys have looked every bit as good as Thomas.

They have both been all over the field, making heavy hits in preseason.

OK, Browns fans faith and trust in the talent evaluation skills of Mike Lombardi is tenuous.

But it is Chudzinski and the coordinators (Horton) that have the final say on who starts...and who gets cut, I believe. So that helps with our confidence in these guys.

And they have given their blessing to Gipson.

Yeah remember Mendenhall and Sweed how these guys were the second coming.......Bust! The Steelers recently drafts have been very bady althought they almost always grade out high by the pundits following the draft. So Thomas could be a really good player or he could end up like the recent trend of Steeler busts.

Sweed was a bust, mendenhall most definitely was not. However he had a hell of a time staying healthy and didnt do much to stay in the good graces of the steelers. I expect.him to be a 3 down.back in arizona. He shoukd rush for at least a 1000 and id expect 10 or more tds. Im not expecting anything from Jones BUT in typical nickers.fashion hes in here spewing nonsense. Jones is still one of the fastest players in the nfl. He hasnt lost any speed.

He hasnt been able to stay healthy BUT if he can stay healthy he has the skill set. If hes great awesome, if hes not we traded a lb that despite being good prob wasnt gonna make the roster cut for us because we are stacked at lb.

What i will return to tho is your comment about his burst and the only reason i addressed your ignorant ass in the first place. You said he "used to have burst" to which i replied " he is still one of the fastest players in the nfl" you ignorant hot dog stuffing fat ass. Im also not expecting squat from the guy. He hasnt been able to stay healthy BUT if he can stay healthy he has the skill set. If hes great awesome, if hes not we traded a lb that despite being good prob wasnt gonna make the roster cut for us because we are stacked at lb.

You never fail to deliver...once again..you show us all what a condescending asshole you really are..It must really suck to be you.
