Gordon has to be untouchable, he's too good of a football player to just trade away.

  • take 100k out of his contract and hire a babysitter/clean pisser.

  • I think Von Miller tried that mik...

I don't see Gordon going anywhere...

But you have to answer the phone...

  • It looks like we were the ones putting him out there, not the other way around.

  • He's good no doubt, but the bong use has to be taken into consideration. He can't catch a single pass suspended for a year.

Wasn't he suspended for not officially going through the NFL, notifying them of his prescription for medicine with codeine in it?

  • There is no way we can get equal value for Gordon by trading him, and there isn't many young receivers that as good as he is. He's clearly a level or three above the likes of Michael Floyd and Kendall Wright.

I know it wasn't this front office's pick, but he is our best offensive player and opens up so much. He'd be a great piece for a young QB, and along with Cameron any draft pick would be a huge comfort zone which would increase likelihood of success for that QB.

He's had his trouble, but he isn't some menace, we need to ride this out and hope for a huge reward.

It's basically what I told T2M in another thread- there are untouchables on any team- or this team- and not just Gordon. I would put Joe Thomas and Joe Haden in that category.

Rumor was the Donkeys dialed up the Browns about Thomas' availability after Clady went down for the year- and were told to take a backwards run down a ski jump in Breckenridge.

  • Trading Gordon would be a huge mistake. For how easy it is to find a RB it is equally as difficult to find a #1 WR.

It would be like trading away Calvin Johnson or AJ Green...and a couple bags of weed.

You don't trade away Randy Moss type players. Ride it out and see what happens. Even if we were to get a 1st round pick, there just aren't that many guys who have the size, speed, and ability of Gordon. You're far more likely to settle for a guy like AJ Jenkins or Kendall Wright.

  • I like Gordon, but he is a "me" player who doesn't really think about his team. He has enough violations with drugs that I have no condifence he can stay clean. I would be in favor of another team riding out his one year suspension and us take a nice pick for him.

That is what this is all about. It isn't his play. I am sure all in Berea like that. It's about not having confidence in the guy when he is off the field.

  • people were ready to jump off bridges last Thursday at the TR trade news - I'm beginning to think that maybe we should trade him away despite him being the best route runner we have. No shit messaging to the squad, this is a team, no weak links allowed - Josh well done son but you don't fit the mould here. Not saying yeah let's do it - but if he gets busted again, the hurt is far worse. I think I'm with Balpeen on this one.

  • The Browns need to keep Gordon. He's said all the right things that make me think he has or sincerely wants to turn a corner, and his play on Sunday ought to be evidence of that. He's on record saying he wanted to have a big game to make up for his past mistakes, and nothing talks like a W. My only concern now is the Front Office will think that the game just drove his value up and try to get more out of a trade for him. Little can go as far as I'm concerned, but just hire a personal assistant for Gordon to keep his nose clean.

  • I'm for keeping him on a short leash with the knowledge that if he fucks up again he could ruin his career. He definitely is worth a gamble IMO.

  • That's it. Lets trade our truly best player. Lets have almost 0 weapons on offense and keep losing games for a higher draft pick. Gordon is legit. You don't trade away a legit #1 wr when you have garbage for #2 - #10!

  • Despite his issues in college, I liked the pick. And so far he hasn't proven me wrong. Besides, he got popped for weed in college, which IMO shouldn't be illegal anyway! But that is a whole other topic! 😎

Who cares? This is football, not everyone is gonna be some selfless guy who lives for the locker room.

  • I really fear this guy is going to mess up again, but he's too valuable a player on a talent starved team to trade. I also really don't think we'd get fair value at this point in his career for what he brings to the team. Didn't Brandon Marshall go for a 3rd? I'd be shocked if any team is offering higher than a 3rd right now and that would be really, really dumb.

If they really are shopping Little though, please Jesus do so. Bess is an excellent 3rd down guy and I'd be happy to see what a Gurley/Cooper guy can do.

  • 3rd/4th round for Little and he's gone. He's a good downfield blocker, but that doesn't mean shit if you can't catch the thing. trade him and bring back Gurley.

People with substance abuse issues ALWAYS say all the right things. They are master manipulators. Having said that I really want us to keep Josh Gordon. Think back long ago to another WR from the supplemental draft. He had drug issues and was gone from the team that drafted him. He went on to be a hall of famer that being Cris Carter.

Make sure he is in a program. Do weekly internal piss tests and hire a mentor.

  • Daily piss tests, and make sure that mentor is big enough to actually stop him! How much to get Vin Diesel to be The Babysitter in real life for 10 years?

  • We better not trade Gordon. That's all.. 😠

I understand that. The problem is his actions hurt the team this year. As far as i am concerned we lost those two games because of him.

I don't think he tries to be a screw up. It just happens. Hangs with the boy's, forgets what he is doing, smokes a little of this or that.

If the guy didn't have a history, no way I'd trade him. He is a super player. Based on his previous actions, I don't want to gamble on him. Face it, if he screws up again it is a year off. We will simply cut him. I would rather some other team have to face that reality.
