your first 10 points were handed to you. cmon, the trick play with your WR throwing a prayer into the endzone and being rewarded at the 1 yardline. then you got set up next drive in field goal range and lost 2 yards and got the 3. lets not forget the 3rd and 6 phantom pass interference in the endzone to set you up at the 1 again. and we had to play the whole game with our backup. our backup is just better than yours

When looking at the other angle Alonso clearly went out of his way to lead with his helmet. I will not be surprised if he get fined.
There's never a good reason to crush the qb in today's league. Period.
As long as its on the up and up for the most part I will never have a problem with the Browns taking out another teams QB.

ln defense of Alonso, when Hoyer decided to slide Alonso had already locked in on the trajectory of his tackle which wasn't head level. .
If Hoyer hadn't tucked his left leg he would still be playing. It was far from a text book slide.
Norv needs to answer to Chud why his QB's don't know how to slide. Overlooking fundamentals can cost you a whole fucking season. One needs to look no further than Norv to point the finger.

I'm watching the game again and the close up slow mo was definately helmet to helmet. It was a bang bang play but Hoyer got smashed in the noggin.

the link did show a better angle - and Hoyers helmet almost came off.....
helmet to helmet hit for sure - but a bad slide technique unfortunately

I almost hate to say it... but Alonso's head was down before Hoyer started his slide. Was he trying to hit him in the head? No, because he didn't know his head was going to be that low. Was he leading with his helmet? Oh, yeah. Very much so. Did he know Hoyer already had the first down and was sideline bound (shouldn't really have slid)? Sure.
But he wasn't out yet so you can hit him... and are coached to do so.
