LOL... now THAT is thinking outside the box...

As others have said, yes... it can be put on Wheezy...

Agree.... but I still want to check your math... 🙂

No, you're wrong again. Sure Weeden sucked, but so did our defense in the second half. It's a team game.

    Again?

As the WKNR guys said on the way home- that folly floater may have lost the locker room. The offense will trot out there like Eyore- woe is us, something bad is going to happen with this guy @ qb.

Damn... Funny thing is without the breath of fresh air that Hoyer provided for two whole weeks, the above might not be the case.

  • You've been wrong on numerous occasion dick wad.

  • All you guys complaining about the roughing the passer penalty listen up. That gets called 100% of the time you know why? HE LEFT HIS FEET. Roughing the passer isnt just taking to many steps and hitting the qb anymore. He did two things that are considered roughing on the play. The major one is he left his feet, the other one was that he drove him to the ground even though he let go in midair he was driving him towards the ground. If Suh did that to Weeden would have been a flag plus suspension.

yes it would have been a fine and suspension, you know why, because of his previous record of doing just what you described plus stepping on people ripping people's heads off and being the dirtiest player in the game (as voted by all players in the league).

That's Richard Wad to you bucko...

    Meanwhile back at the thread...

Here's a game impression.... the Lions were the better team.

Any number of folk here were touting the Lions as a "bigger test" pre-game... they were... we failed...

The Lions have MUCH better QB, and RB's. Plus their O-line pretty much dominated our d-line in the passing game. Stafford had all day to throw

    i was one of those.

we did great until we turned the page and found out we were fooled by the teacher who had said all week there would be no coaching/QB aptitude test.

    Piss off.

It was an unblocked hit that didn't bring a flag in until Stafford lay on the ground like the bitch he is asking for it. Noticed how be popped right back up after he drew the flag like a damn communist soccer player begging for a card? Rewind that whole game and and watch him bitch about everything. Weeden may be a tool but Stafford is a bitch. After watching him bitch ALL GAME LONG about EVERYTHING, I REALLY hope he doesn't reinjury his shoulder and go on IR for life...

I can't believe a football fan (let alone a detroit fan of anybody) would come into a football forum and try to justify a flag on a nice nfl hit. Lets just turn the league into a 7 on 7 passing league, and they can bring you your midol and tampons to your seat. GTFOH.

    Rule 12, Section 1, Article 13

    UNNECESSARY ACTS AGAINST PASSER

    (2) A rushing defender is prohibited from committing such intimidating and punishing acts as stuffing a passer into the ground or unnecessarily wrestling or driving him down after the passer has thrown the ball, even if the rusher makes his initial contact with the passer within the one-step limitation provided for in (1) above. When tackling a passer who is in a defenseless posture (e.g., during or just after throwing a pass), a defensive player must not unnecessarily or violently throw him down and land on top of him with all or most of the defenders weight. Instead, the defensive player must strive to wrap up or cradle the passer with the defensive players arms.

It was a clean hit, but an illegal one nonetheless.

That didn't lose us the game. Having an inept QB who only know a quarter of the playbook did.

Thanks for looking that rule up, but were in that hit did you see any of that? I didn't see a German suplex, a Tony Saragoosa belly flop on top of him, a wrap and slam to the ground. The bitch Lion fan is saying he drew the flag cause he "left his feet". Wtf...

The report was Groves was giving the explanation from the ref that he speared Stafford with the crown of his helmet, which didn't happen either.

Either way, it's a bitch call for a league that is getting old with all these rules on how you can make contact in the NFL. May not have lost the game, but it was a hit that wouldn't even have been given a second look afterwards as to "should have been a penalty" and was pretty much a no call hit in an important part of a game.

Cobb gets hit low and hurts his knee in the GB game and now all the talking heads want a rule about tackling low... So where do you want the defense to hit a guy? If it's a QB or WR you better just grab him and hold him until the whistle. Can't hit low, can't hit high, can't form tackle a QB in the pocket on third down in a do or die situation. Bullshit.

Just makes the NFL suck that much more.

  • T/J:

Cobb didn't hurt his knee. He broke his fibula, I believe. Supposedly he's out for 6-8 weeks, but we shall see. We seem to have guys with hangnails who are out longer than that.

I agree that the D players have a rough go of it, now. I don't think the Cobb play was malicious by any means, but it certainly sucks.

    End T/J

The rule doesn't say anything about a German suplex or a Tony Saragoosa [sic] belly flop.

It does say, however, that the defender must not fully complete the tackle or land on the QB, which Groves did.

It may seem like it's impossible to do, but it really isn't. The same way a LB has to change direction at a moments notice to catch a breaking RB, they must also change direction to only deal a glancing blow or simply not go to the ground.

I don't pretend to like it. I think it's bullshit and I think they are dumbing down the game. But that call was perfectly within reason based on the rules.

  • It really amazes me that their TE Fauria or whatever was targeted 3 time for TDS in the endzone.

We clearly need to work on our exposed weakness, but if we tighten that up we should be good to go as Haden and Skrine have been dominant
