I have been unable to see the last two game due to being out of town. I do have yesterday's game taped, so I may go back and watch it....if I can stomach it.

But....I do have a question....Where's the damn beef? By that I mean the beef on defense.

Yes, I see all the threads about BW3 sucking.....but, remember, when Hoyer was in there, this team was winning a game by 17-6 and the like.

Did anyone, prior to this season starting ever believe that this team could ever win when it gave up over 30 points per game? I didn't. Any game they won I would expect it to be a low scoring game.

But if you were to say 3 weeks ago that this team was going to give up 31 points to the Lions, 31 to the Packers and even 24 to the Bills I would have said they would definitely be going 0-3 in those games.

I would have even said they would lose if they gave up 27 points to the Vikings.

But they won 2 of those games.

No, this defense needs to keep an opponent to the teens or low 20s for the Browns to have a chance to win. If they don't, no way have I expected them to win.

Carp all you want about Weeden......but this defense has NOT held up its share of the bargain either.

They are not very good at getting off the field. I'm not sure what their 3rd down ranking is, but it has to be bottom 10 in the league.

I just looked it up. They are 29th in the league on 3rd down. The only 3 teams worse are the Falcons, Giants And Vikings. Who have combined for 3 wins between them. Well 4 after tonight's horrible Monday nighter

I honestly think part of the problem is Horton's blitz calls on 3rd down. Yesterday Rodgers was a statue in the pocket despite a decent of plays being blitzed. GB doesn't have the best line either so I'm wondering if it's getting scripted. I don't care what defense you are, if you give an elite guy all day to throw he's going to find someone open.

In terms of the score it's not a coincidence with Weeden on the field that the defense is giving up more points. TOP aside, it has to become demoralizing after a while to make stop after stop to have your offense crap the bed. This defense held a top ten offensive to 17 points going into the 4th quarter. You can only bend so many times before a guy like rodgers gets to a defense.
