Cleveland Browns have two offers for Josh Gordon of a high pick and player, report says

  • Hey, with 3 first rounders, they gotta get ONE of them right?... Right?

  • Josh is one of the few gems the Browns have, why do they think they can find a receiver as good as him? We haven't had a receiver as good as him for YEARS! Next thing you know Hoyer will be traded! What the hell is going on?

  • If someone is stupid enough to actually give a 1st rounder for him why on earth is any cleveland fan not utterly ecstatic about the possibilities of 3 1st round picks next year?

Because Gordon is a proven star that's familiar with CLE's system, as opposed to a giant dice roll that is a draft pick. You might draft a Peyton Manning if you're lucky and your team name isn't the Browns. You're most likely to get above average/average talent.

I think everyone is infatuated with Gordon because he's the first legitimate talent at WR we've seen in a decade.

There's still a number of WR's better than him, some of which are nearly as young and don't come with the added baggage.

I say, if it's a first rounder and a legitimate starter level talent player, we'd be stupid not to take the deal. There are 3-4 good WR's in this draft, 2 of which I believe can be elite level #1 WR's.

Hopefully, Gordon's drug use is now behind him. If CLE drafts a Luck or even a Tannehill, Gordon's value will shoot through the roof. He's thrived with garbage QBs. Which WRs are you excited about, Watkins and Evans?

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

  • To me a high pick suggests a 1st round pick and a player for a position that the Browns need.

NE comes to mind, maybe Gordon for a 1st rounder and Mallett. Not a fan of this but it seems possible.

Atlanta seems also like a possibility with White and Jones out. Not sure what they would give us player wise. OL maybe.

Indy is a possibility for another trade. They just lost Wayne for the year and are in position to win the division. We have their 1st rounder already. Not sure what else they can give us.

49ers have been talked about before. They could offer us LaMichael James and a high draft pick.

Before I get ripped into I want everyone to know that I don't want Gordon to get traded but if the FO is going to trade him then I at least want to get something good for him.

To be fair, he was caught imbibing codeine. Not the most worrisome of drugs.

Mostly Evans, but Watkins is my #2.

Only problem is his off-the-field issues as well.

I wouldn't mind Lee if he slid to the second round.

I'd be more worried about that than a little weed or some Adderrall.

NE is the only option you listed that seems plausible. SF has done just fine so far and Crabtree will be back later in the season. ATL is probably going to look towards next season, which should include within it a healthy White and Jones, plus a Top 3 NCAA TE.

Damn, what shenanigans does Watkins get himself into in SC?

Adderall is a "cheater's drug". We wouldn't want that be hurled at the Browns' organization. He actually got busted for weeden college.

    Drugs.

About the only thing there is to do in Clempsun.

At least he didn't inherit the "shitting all over hotel rooms" traits from that other pussyfoot WR.

I know that. And now he's escalated to purpdrank. What's next, mainlining heroin?

And too late on the Adderall, what do you think Haden got busted for?

Did you notice the Weeden joke? 😮 Anyway, Gordon's from Houston. Practically everyone there drinks drank and/or smokes weed. Hopefully, being away from his hometown and having to worry about his salary will straighten him out. We certainly don't need him following Haden's path.

Utterly ecstatic about Richardson, Weeden and Quinn you mean? Just having the picks means nothing if you bust big time on them. It will take more than Mingo to convince me Lombardi can tell his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to evaluating talent.

Hell, lets trade Haden & Thomas while we're at it- then we can have five first round picks.

  • A draft pick is the same as going to the casino; may hit it big may bust. Gordon is Provence cant trade him
