That means the Cavs have to win it...this year.

And FYI, (you know I keep track of this stuff) NO city has had 3 teams win Championships in a single calendar year. But that is not to say that a city has not won 3 consecutive titles. It happened just one time....and in fact that time the city won 4 consecutive titles, but 2 in each year.

And yes, it was the NYC teams. In order: 1927 NY Yankees, 1927 NY football Giants, 1928 NY Rangers, then 1928 NY Yankees.

This NYC streak was broken by the Providence Steam Roller who won the NFL title in 1928.

The first city to win 2 titles in the same year?: Cleveland/Akron: 1920 Indians won the WS, 1920 Akron Pros won the first NFL title.

Cleveland won 2 titles again in 1948: Indians win WS, Browns win AAFC.

All they are lacking is a supremely talented small forward.....hmmm, they have a lot of room under the salary cap going into next year. I wonder if there is a supremely talented small forward that might be available in free agency. 🤔

Sucks to be us. I'm ambivalent about the LeBum homecoming. As some wag put it- God must hate Cleveland- so we need to sign Tebow- God will be confused.

Anthony Bennett is our SF of the future, he'll be kicking ass by playoff time.

  • Suck on it VANCOUVER!

Except it is my understanding that the plans are that he will strictly be a 4...a power forward. The problem....he is "only 6'8". In today's NBA that is small for a power forward. They are usually 6-9 or 6-10. And the Cavs already have Varajao and Thompson at power forward....though Varajao plays some center.

By all rights Bennett should be a SF....but it is questionable if he has that skill set. He is really one of those tweeners. (which is really suckass for the #1 overall pick of a draft)

  • Suck on it VANCOUVER!

Well, they had a 3-2 advantage in the Stanley Cup finals just a couple of years ago and blew it, or else they would not have been so far down the list. And the Ottawa Senators also lost the hockey finals a few years ago.

And don't forget the 1997 World Series...which the Indians should have wrapped up.

And there is Buffalo with its wide right problem.

They have every intention of making a small forward out of him, and the skills are there, albeit raw. It's a big "we'll see" ... but they have been drafting well lately.

I heard the exact opposite....that they have no intention of making a small forward of him. It was on local radio.
