  • shit!!! Just when I finally formed a bond with Hanie.....

    WSS

  • I hope he starts. He seems like he could at least beat

Weeden in a game of "pig"... every time.

Just a qb that isn't stupid, and wants to win....

and doesn't think that losing and making turnovers is funny.

    Dammit.

Alex Tanney is famous for his trick shot video that went viral.

    He's 6'4 220.

    I hope he starts Sunday.

Isn't that what Weeden was famous for? Trick shots where he hit clay pigeons with a football. Do we really need another trick shot artist...or a quarterback?

    Weeden wasn't famous for anything.

Gipper is referencing the the Sports Science episode of Weeden prior to the draft. A lot of people made a lot of buzz about him hitting a clay pidgeon from 10 yards away traveling 45 mph, apparently meaning he has a "super accurate, cannon for an arm".

I think Weeden thinks he has to hit his receivers like he hit those clay pidgeons. Nothing less than 100 mph from 10 yards away will suffice.

  • We need a backup/soon to be starter for the rest of 2013 & why not try this kid? With all his college stats, only 30 career picks, extremely accurate (albeit D3 school). As opposed to 3TD, 10 picks Haney, Sure worth a look see & would surely draw at least SOME Fan interest.

    Mike

  • "For the preseason, Tanney completed 40-of-73 passes for 423 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions"

    Well. Meh.

Can he put a ball into the hands of a Rb coming out of the backfield..... BW3, like Derek ZooLanderson before him seems not to be able to do that.

Does the guy in the beginning of this video look like his face is getting sucked into the middle of his head by some type of vacuum?

I know what he was referring to. I was being facetious.

If I'm not mistaken, the Sports Science episode featuring him debuted after we drafted him, however.

  • First career trick shot.

  • Super Human?

  • Interesting. And odd. So many veterans out there and some interesting practice squad guys. Never would've guessed we'd go with this kid in a million years.

This may be one of those Mike Lombardi specials where he tries to show how much smarter he is than anyone by picking up people that no one ever heard of and hoping that he finds a diamond in the rough.

More often though, Lombardi just shows how much dumber he is than everyone else because all we get is the rough and none of the diamond.

  • I'm not sold on having a tranny in the locker room -

Tranny with a trick shot - even worse

  • Look at it this way...Caleb had already PROVEN he was Weeden Version 2 with 3 TDs & 10 interceptions. At least this kid is an unknown & at this point, THAT'S somewhat of a positive. LOL

His father was a coach, he's been in the spread offense since his sophomore year in high school, he has a loose arm with great mid range accuracy and had a 5-1 TD/INT ratio in college. Played at a smaller school and had great production all 4 years as a starter.

I can see the appeal. At the very least, he's careful with the football. That's all we need.

Runs a 4.96, however. And I thought Weeden was slow...

  • I wonder if maybe they'd like to find next year's #3 behind Hoyer and Carr.

  • Hey, Foles ran a 5.14 and I honestly think he qualifies as mobile. He can scoot... just not 40 yards.
