  • Let me rephrase that...

ObaMao is the opposite of Mandela.

Obamao is a hateful, lying sombeech, racist, marxist piglet.

Mandela was a great man, who stood and suffered for many years...

    for racial togetherness.

Cal I'm a little bit surprised by your love for Nelson Mandela.

The guy was as much of a violent terrorist as any third world warlord or shopping mall bomber.

Yes he eventually kind of, sort of, changed his position at least for public consumption while in prison. Don't forget why he was in prison. Not for peaceful protest for caring signs out front of the Capitol. For butchering innocent men women and children (of all races) to obtain his goal of power for the African National Congress.

He was also a devout Marxist.

Even so his legend, if you will, has been elevated to mythical stature and for right or wrong he is an important figure on the world stage. I think you are way off base to compare President Obama with him at any rate. Obama is merely a hack Chicago ward politician elevated to national office.

Yes Obama's aura, like Mandela's, has been inflated by not only the US but the world liberal press. Still, in Obama's case, I think everyone is finally getting to see it was all a sham.

I never heard this terrorist narrative so you inspired me to research it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umkhonto_we_Sizwe

It's good to understand everything that made the man to get a full picture. I think it look like classic case of "one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter." I don't think comparing him to Bin Laden would be fair. The storyline appears to be similar to the Palestinian one, as he tried peaceful methods before resorting to violence and returning to non violence.

  • I don't know anything about Mandela except, apparently, that he's loved for some reason or another, and thusly I did not give a crap when I heard he died. Dude was 95. His death was far from untimely

and this sums it up perfectly....

  • I didn't know about the terrorist narrative, either.

I did know that he led the African people in a self-defense

    "war".

You can't litterally enslave people, murder them at will, without

    violence in self-defense.

That is far difference that a terrorist, who commits grievious acts of

violence, for the purpose of political, religious, monetary power.

In the later years, then, he was a great man. That sounds better to me now.

  • He was an African terrorist. His wife also. Screw him.

  • Cal. He was all of your buzz words bud. Liberal. Marxist. Terrorist. I'm not telling you what to think but to hear you call a liberal with definite Marxist ties a great man is making my day.

Lol, the voice of reason, for once.

Ha! Was coming here to post that I appreciated the way he disposed of used car tires efficiently, but you beat me to it. Kudos.

  • Apparently, everyone here except cal think apartheid was just a fun walk in the park for the native majority...

  • Minority rule is never a walk in the park for the majority. Get fucking real. How do you think the Christian majority of the central African republic or whatever is dealing with the minority Muslims in power. Right, they're all barricaded in the airport being guarded by the French

  • Lest we forget that one of the Opposition political groups was the Zulus. Mandela and the African National Congress killed plenty of them.

And remember that the lack of Western democracy did not stop South Africa from being about the only reasonably civilized area on the continent.

Not really. It's just that anyone with any knowledge of the subject understands that Mandela's successes were built upon the broken bones of Steve Biko's face and that those of us find the deification of "Madiba" slightly sickening.

He learned from his life mistakes and became an outspoken advocate of nonviolent struggle. I don't see all the Christians here condemning St. Paul because he had Christians tortured and executed before his conversion...

    That was Saul -> Paul.

And Paul gets shat on quite frequently here (or did, i've been M.I.A. for a while).

  • And then there's this:

"If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America. They don't care for human beings." c.2003
  • Okay, I retract my statement. After all, Obamao heartily supports him, so he must be evil.

Not one of my more informed subjects....

Obama supports hypoallergenic puppies. Does that make them evil?
