  • who are the top 5 QBs coming out this year (as of now)?

take a look at that list and by 3/2014 the positions of those QBs will not be the same and some might not even be on the list anymore.

  • Even better mock draft by Charlie Campbell on walterfootball.com ...

    1a. Sammy Watkins - WR - Clemson

1b. Derek Carr - QB - Fres St

    2. Ka'deem Carey - RB - Arizona

    3a. A.J. Johnson - ILB - Tennessee

    3b. Tre Boston - CB - UNC

These guys are mock drafting us right to the Super Bowl...

  • The first 10 pick mock draft on SI.com this morning had Carr going in the top 10. But did have us taking Watkins with our first first round pick.

    Carr won't last that long.

Carr won't even make it to our 1a. pick.

  • i like it too BUT as marko and TCPO said no way carr drops that far.

also i question whether watkins is the best WR. only thing missing on that list is 3 OL.

Yea, it is sounding like to get Carr, he would have to be the 1A pick, not 1B.

Unless, of course it is Mike Lombardi to whom Peter King referenced as being willing to take Bortles as a Top 5 pick.

  • Peter King seems to think the Browns would be willing to trade their 2nd first round pick to the skins for Cousins if they make him available.

  • Yeah, King loves Cousins. I watched him some yesterday... I'm not sure he'd beat out Hoyer. They're both in that "good but limited" category in my opinion, but maybe one or both prove me wrong.

To get the top WR, 2nd QB, and top RB in the draft would be off the charts. But like others have said, Carr isn't likely to make it out of the top 10.

  • Peter King is a fat blowhard asshole who loves Boston and hates everyone else. His Twitter remarks are filled with backhanded condescension and many of his opinions, while being in-depth and well thought out, turn out to be wrong.

I will agree that I believed Mo should have won Sportsman of the Year, however.

I just generally dislike the guy.

I think you're overemphasizing the O-line need just a little... Look at the Dolphins. 4-2 since losing the entire left side of their line... Why? Tannehill has been playing great football, and they have played well on D... It would be nice to add to our run blocking at the G position, but really the guys we have at OL are good enough for this team to win with improved QB play and getting off the field on D...

  • Seems to be we have a lot of talent on the line, especially with Pinkston for the full year and Chris Faulk healthy and ready to compete. Did anybody think the new guy didn't have holes to run through? And it seemed to me the pass blocking was very good.

I don't think the line is our biggest issue, although you can always get better. When you have an offense based around Jason Campbell and Edwin Baker (if that's his name), improving the line is like buying a toaster because your dishwasher broke.

The Bears defense is riddled with injuries and they are the worst run defense in the NFL. If we would like a productive ground game next year, offensive guard has to be a priority. Chud does not want to throw the ball at this rate and only does because we suck at run blocking. A real FB would be nice too.

But....he may also be a person in whom Mike Lombardi confides.....you know....a couple of fat blowhard assholes blowing each other's holes.

Whatever King is otherwise, in this regard, there is one thing he may be: right.

  • With Pinkston back, and Faulk? who I completely lost reading about....

things aren't any critical need. I do think Lavauo, in the least, shares time on passing downs

to Faulk. Somebody needs to. And our RT will/should get a little stronger.

Being at the Bears game (btw, the Bears fans were great people to be around)...

    "1a. Sammy Watkins - WR - Clemson
1b. Derek Carr - QB - Fres St
    2. Ka'deem Carey - RB - Arizona
    3a. A.J. Johnson - ILB - Tennessee
    3b. Tre Boston - CB - UNC"

would make a lot of sense, cept yes, Carr will be long gone.Insert Bortles, and I like it even better.

I wonder if a couple of those blue chip ILB's would be so elite, that they'd warrant that second round pick. If Tre Boston

lasted til that 3b, that would be solid, cept I imagine cb will go early and often in the second round, too.

It's awesome to have the "critical needs" list for the Browns being a very short list. That is huge.

  • Get out of here with these, well we have Chris Faulk comments lmao. Faulk, Pinkston and Gilkey are all long shots to be average NFL guards let alone real difference makers in the run game.

I doubt that's the case. This is likely just King once again claiming something in case it actually happens.

I agree. If you read his column every week, it's about 50% correct and 50% rumor that doesn't happen.

OK, but, that is exactly what Lombardi did when he was "in the media". So perhaps he learned it from King. Point is, those two are BBs.....so they do talk....or grunt at each other.

  • I'm voting for Derek Carr...
