    LOL.

Such a fantastic finish. Not sure it's the best world cup goal ever though, for me not even the best english goal - michael owen probably has that honour. Jairzhino scored a great goal, Bergkamp's was amazing -

    - and probably at the top is Maradona against england (the one he didn't cheat on)

Yea you probably seen more than me. Bobby Charlton gots to have the best performance though.

  • LOL. guy posts here about being a new fan. We bash him and now he is going to be a Giants fan now. good job guys. California is kinda shitty if you live here.

  • There may be parts of Cal that are shitty, but one undeniable fact is that the whole of Birmingham is shitty. Every square inch.

Well done for picking the browns however. Once bitten forever smitten. You might want to do your soccer talk elsewhere however, Zombo has a hair trigger for that kind of talk.

Maybe we need a soccer forum? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Well, while we're on the topic. Anyone think Klinsmann can get our boys out of the group of death this year? I'd also love to see us beat Ghana.

To be perfectly honest, no, I don't think so. Not saying it's impossible, but you'd need to beat Ghana and get a decent result against Portugal to stand a chance - that is assuming Germany beats everybody.

  • Around 10 years ago Leeds suffered the worst mismanagement at the top level in English football history.

They nearly went out of business and went from playing in the biggest club competition in the world (Champions League) to getting relegated a few times. They are currently in the level one below the Premiership.

Sweet all of my teams suck. Leeds had the team, David Battie, Vinny Jones, Gordon Strocken, etc.

  • You've probably had this topic before, but i am an Aston Villa who has decided to get into the NFL and i've chosen to support the browns, i've had Browns merchandise for ages but never really been into the NFL until now, any way i was wondering if you guys could give me some information about the browns and what not.

I'm not sure the nature of this forum so i could just end up getting abuse for being a fan of football (soccer) but oh well.

Also if any of you guys could tell me, was there ever any Villa merchandise sold over there? Or do you guys hate us.

    Thanks.

Just spell it right if you are going to call soccer by that name: it is futbol.

We play football, you play futbol. Well, we play futbol too...but we call it soccer.

No, not true at all. I have traveled this entire country and California is one of its most beautiful states. You just have to go to the right parts.

    US as in USA us?

Right now, in international sport we have more pressing matters.....as in who is going to win the bitch fight between the US and Canada in Women's hockey. And I do mean bitch fight. Every time they get together they go at it.

Well then our new fans will feel right at home- the Browns have suffered from terrible mismanagement since 1999, and even longer if you want to count in the last Modell years of ownership.

  • This thread had the strong odor of troll from the start...

  • Aston Villa having troubles, try being a Crystal Palace fan! ๐Ÿ™

  • Thanks for joining Aston Villa guy. Certainly not a bandwagon fan. Perhaps you could point our "leadership" in the direction of a head coach/technical director? We're losing out on guys who'd rather stay assistant coaches or coach a college team which is on double, top-secret probation for the next decade than be the Cleveland head coach.

The Browns have a tradition-rich history and the most loyal (abused) fans, but the current Browns would've been relegated down to about the seventh division through the last 25 years if the NFL was European.

My dad was 13 at the time of the Browns' last NFL Championship, before there was such a thing as a Super Bowl. He never gave me a choice in the matter. I can barely go back to such disasters as "The Drive" (playoffs 1987) and "The Fumble" (playoffs 1988), which would be brilliant accomplishments and honest reasons to "wait 'til next year" compared to anything the Browns have done since returning in 1999. Now the Browns find drink-inducing ways to fuck up, not fourth quarters which could've taken them to the Super Bowl, but regular season games against joke franchises like Jacksonville.

    Welcome!

IMO the guys dissing soccer should get with the program. NFL football pales in comparison to the worldwide popularity of soccer. Just think of it as slow motion hockey guys.

Just give it up Gip, it's not clever, nobody's laughing. How many gridiron football fans do you suppose there are in the world? I mean, all of America and Canada, right? Plus maybe a couple of million outside of there? Except it won't be all of north america. Apparently, viewing figures for the superbowl 2012 - highest on record - were around 170 million. How many do you suppose play/watch association football? Well, the last world cup final attracted 3.2 billion people.

So please, stop trying to belittle a sport that is the most popular in the world, and getting on for 20 times more popular that NFL.

Not sure about slow motion hockey, but if it works for you ๐Ÿ˜‰ Football/Soccer is a lot more tactical than hockey, which seems to basically consist of everybody trying to slam the puck towards the goal as hard and as often as possible ๐Ÿ˜› but to be fair I haven't watched much, outside of the odd winter olympics final or stanley cup highlights, so I could be misguided on that.
