  • Lol, that's funny. Ridiculous too

  • Shenanigans. I have seen crazy kids do all sorts of wild shit. We had a kid jam a pencil under his skin and push it all the way in longways and was screaming about how he was Lucifer. Therapist started praying. I just started restraining "with adequate amount of force". Apparently Satan cuts his shit out when you put an elbow in his ear.

  • You sure?

  • I am pretty damn sure.

But if you want to we can add this to the list of stupid shit you believe

  • Wasn't referring to you kid. You aren't worth the time or effort.

Coming from a guy that truly believes in the stuff that you do... I will live

  • In the spirit of the thread, I will say that I believe I have seen a ghost before. I am the most skeptical person you will meet but there was no rational explanation of what happened.

  • What happened?

  • I was 18 and staying at a friend's house. It was her mom's house and she had told us (my friend Jason and I) that the house was haunted. I gave her 8 kinds of shit about how she was lying etc. Jason was scared because he believed in all of that stuff.

It got to being late and we were supposed to get up early and go to Warped Tour. Darby (the female friend) had fallen asleep hours ago. Jason and I were still up but Jason finally passed out. Jason and I were supposed to sleep downstairs in the living room. I left Jason in the upstairs TV room passed out in a recliner. I turn everything off and began walking down the hallway towards the steps. As I am walking in the dark hallway, I feel something pass by me under my arm (was touching the walls to feel my way towards the stairs). It made me pause for a second because the air got really cold. I just chalked it up to a draft and it being late.

I went downstairs and started watching TV and winding down. I got curious about what brushed against my leg. I opened the basement door to check on the pets (they put them down there at night because they wreck the house). The rottweiler and three cats were down there hanging out. I went back to the living room and started to fall asleep. I then heard something or someone run down the stairs. Just wide open running. I turn around (the stairs were over my shoulder) and I heard the last of the running at the end of the stairs but no one was there. At this point, I am starting to get concerned. I sat back down on the couch to get my bearings when something unseen slammed on the ground in the middle of the living room. It was with enough force that it knocked pictures off of the wall. I went running up the stairs just to find someone else because I had no fucking idea what was going on.

When I reached the top of the steps, I saw in the darkness a shape that was slightly illuminated. I could tell it was the shape of a person. It looked at me then walked into the closed door where Darby's bedroom was and disappeared. The air got really cold and I can remember it took me a good five seconds for my brain to send the signal to get the fuck out of there. I ran back down the stairs and out the door to the front yard. I called Darby and Jason. Darby met me downstairs (Jason didn't wake up to the phone call) and asked what was wrong. She had heard the thud but thought that one of us had rolled off the couch. My story unnerved them so bad that they ended up staying up with me the rest of the night.

A week later, Darby's mom showed me the news clippings about the house. Older couple had lived there and for some reason the old man had pushed his wife off the top rail. He hung himself in the house before the cops showed up.

I had been a complete skeptic of anything like ghosts. Still not sure I would classify it as that because I am open to any explanation. It was just very real and completely insane at the time.

  • So you are selective about what you believe and don't believe. I guess you are an agnostic.

That logic doesn't follow. An agnostic is someone who doesn't know what to believe, not someone who has made a conscious decision what to believe.

  • Freaking scientists......

  • I know, those guys and their following logic to reasonable conclusions. I hate them.

Or as the lawyers call it circumstantial evidence...

I'm a mathematician. Nothing is circumstancial.

An astronomer, a physicist and a mathematician are on a train in Scotland. The astronomer looks out of the window, sees a black sheep standing in a field, and remarks, "How odd. All the sheep in Scotland are black!" "No, no, no!" says the physicist. "Only some Scottish sheep are black." The mathematician rolls his eyes at his companions' muddled thinking and says, "In Scotland, there is at least one sheep, at least one side of which appears to be black from here some of the time."

I am just saying that I know what I saw. That doesn't mean that Allah, God, or Xenu are real. It just means that I saw something unexplained.

  • There are many stories like that, Logic, around the world. There are other stories,

like the kid in the fifth grade, way out in the country, who fell into a spring, down in their woods, on one single degree above zero,

just after dawn, snowy winter morning. He tried and tried but could not get out of the spring.

And no one ever knew he was there, nobody to help him. He survived, though. He just...didn't get out by himself.

Some stories are beyond belief, tough to explain.

One time, this kid in the 6th grade was on vacation in WV. One afternoon, bored because his cousins weren't

going to get there til the next day, the kid went hiking on the other side of the road. He walked down a trail,

turned left, and walked the old trail deeper and deeper along the base of a cliff. As he got to the base of the 80' cliff,

he walked on, past the huge rocks piled into strange configurations..and came to a crack in the cliff wall.

It was summer; it was really, really hot. He hadn't noticed that crack before, they usually hiked through

the large rocks' caverns, among the ferns and thick mountain laurel and huge oak trees. He stopped

and looked into the crack, which was just big enough to stick a leg into...and all of a sudden, he felt

a sweaty smell of -cold- air rushing out of the crack, and felt hands on his shoulders.

He freaked, spun around, terrified, but no one was there, the cold air was gone, and the kid

ran, terrified all the way back up the trail, along that base of that cliff, made it to the old dirt road,

ran all the way up the long driveway, and hid in the hutch-type corn bin until he could gather

    his bearings.

Strange things can happen in life. Some can be explained, others not so much.

They are not popular around here. I have heard how they have contributed relatively nothing, we would be fine without them, and they cant even cure the common cold...

  • Boy woody for a guy who thinks he's really smart you've barely gotten anything but buzz words out of that statement. Just because you worship science doesn't make scientists, specifically theoretical scientists god. The shit Stephen hawking puts out there is nothing but a theory and in fact be just recently admitted he's wrong and that things actually can escape from a black hole. Never mind that that is nothing but conjecture from a guy with nothing but time on his hands, its science and therefore infallible right? Christ. Science is not always right, in fact many of the things they posit as absolute fact are nothing but theory.
