They plan on keeping power at any cost. How does this dem corrupt gov go after

    legal gun owners,

yet want to let convicts vote because otherwise, their rights are violated?

Big, serious trouble coming. Add it all up, and it spells "whatthe....uhoh"

There is a big difference between convict and ex-convict. I agree that someone in jail should not have the right to vote. This story is not talking about someone currently in jail. If someone did the time for their crime and is released, it seems unconstitutional to keep them from voting. Whatever they did, the law has determined that they have paid the price.

Or, is not voting as an American citizen no longer in solid standing, part of the price to be paid? Part of

"if you commit crimes...this is what happens" ?

Although, some crimes should warrant it, and others not so much. Like serious trespassing/poaching ?

And, do you support ex-cons, who are always a convicted person, in regaining their right to bear arms?

I wonder how many folks support regaining their 2nd Amendment rights as well as the right to vote?

Or, after seriously breaking the law and going to prison,...should your "in good standing" like you

never committed the crimes come back into play?

I personally think not. Do not commit those crimes that send you to prison. The loss of your freedom

was "temporary"....except for life sentences, eh? Your judgement is seriously flawed, or was, and

you are no longer in good standing like you were before.

I know it was ex-cons, but it's just a step toward convicts voting. Which, some of them "accidently" have

            done already.

              Oh, and this:

If you were hospitalized for depression over a personal tragedy, say.........

and later you were fine and were released....you still think the same should

apply to the right to vote and 2nd Amendment rights?

Well Kos, it certainly has had a negative impact on the country..... (by the way you aren't equating Negros with felons are you?)

Just fucking with you there but that was a good point. Do you lose your 2nd Amendment rights when you are convicted of a violent crime or institutionalized with schizophrenia?

It is most certainly a gray area but one would think that a serious infraction of law should carry consequences.

Even after release from prison, you are still a convicted felon. States have different laws in regards to reestablishing voting rights. Length of time after release, etc.

That was sort of the tongue and cheek joke. If anyone believes race is not an issue here they are full of shit.

Felon's come in all shapes and sizes. 3 DUI's a felony. In Texas you can get a felony for owning more than six dildos. In Steinemannboro County, Georgia, it's a Class B felony to kill a mosquito within 450 feet of a church without a good reason. In Montana it is a felony for a wife to open her husband's mail. Violent, maybe, but there definitely needs guidelines.

I think it should be a case by case basis. I also feel that way around the 2nd Amendment. Non violent felon? They should have just as much right to self defense as anyone else. They did their time. They should also be able to vote. They are just as uninformed as the other 99% of people who vote.

With all of these examples of groups that shouldn't vote, how about we add the elderly? Dimensia and other mental issues become a problem. Also, they have no motive to vote for the future good. Finally, they may not know what is going on in the world or country at the time. Not to mention they can be very gullible.

A better question would be which of these groups don't you fit in? You may claim that you are not elderly but thats relative isn't it? For example in dog years we can assume you'd be among the most elderly of that group. And since that group is canines probably also equal to or below average as far as political and experience based acumen.

                                  😁

I am not afraid of old people....

I was also being serious. If we limit the voting rights of people who committed crimes and those with some mental illness, then why not extend that to the elderly? Since it encompasses a lot of the same concerns. I mean, we always hear on here how the liberals are catering to this group and catering to that group, how about conservatives and the elderly?

If we limit the voting rights of people who committed crimes and those with some mental illness, then why not extend that to the elderly? Since it encompasses a lot of the same concerns. I mean, we always hear on here how the liberals are catering to this group and catering to that group, how about conservatives and the elderly?

"How dare you suggest that old people are in the same category as the elderly? They are the greatest generation. You some kind of Obamao/Hitlery lover?!"
