yeah i guess your 'football' ear isn't close to the ground when it comes to your boy toy because espn just had this quote from manziel himself:
"i want everyone from the janitor at reliant stadium to the owner mcnair saying i am 100% can't miss and i want to keep this texas kid in texas."
there's his commitment to cleveland, right asshole?
he's selling himself like a beer-gutted chippendales' dancer.
fuck johnny manziel and anyone that likes him.
turn on NFL live right now because they're about to report it again.

Heard it hours ago, didn't think it was news worthy. Nothing any other #1 overall prospect hasn't done before. Was you looking for him to say he wouldn't play for Cleveland like Eli did to the Chargers? He never said he had a commitment to Cleveland? He he had a commitment to winning, whether its in Texas or Cleveland or anywere else.

no my point was (before they merged the threads and the title of the thread was MANZIEL WANTS TO WIN SUPERBOWL FOR CLEVELAND) was just as you stated, a sales job that a lot of these guys rated in the top ten are going to do per their agents. so for him to say i want to stay in texas, then say if something 'happens' and (god forbid) i end up in cleveland blah blah blah is just another johnny manziel love fest thread.
but to post a video of him working out was like BIG Fing DEAL. we're going to see more than that in the next 2 and 1/2 months by all these QBs who are over rated by at least a 1/2 a round.
let's see....hmmmm, let's hire a chump director and editor to produce a video of bridgewater doing the hokey pokey. and let's edit it so it only shows the positive stuff, not wear he falls on his face or he drops the F bomb 4 times after throwing 4 incompletions. and have a personal trainer exclaim how great this kid is gonna be. all the while not planning on showing up at the combine where they'll get doused by people not even on the radar.
it's all hype and a lot of people buy into it.

Sign the kid right now... I don't care. We haven't had those kind of balls at QB in a long time.

I see nothing in that interview that is a clear indication of balls or the fact he will succeed. He said all of the things he has been coached to say by his agent and what I would think is a very big group of handlers. The confidence he displays in interviews means nothing. Hell Weeden was the picture of confidence in some of his early interviews. Then he played, bombed and lost it. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors and there are likely as many scouts ranking him out of the top 10 picks as are ranking him in the top 5. I think you see clearly different scouting reports on Manziel if you read them from team scouts vs. national media scouts who are also plugged into the good ole boys network with the agents.
If he comes here I hope he can meet the hype but I do not see it. I see a guy with happy feet in the pocket, a guy who goes haywire after his first read blows up. He makes exciting plays in those cases but I just do not see the playground looking plays translating at all to the next level.

i don't hate manziel, (hell it's hard for me to hate anyone unless you're a woman beater, dog killer or just plain murdering scumbag), i just think he's NOT right for the browns. some reporter eluded in a report today that manziel would be perfect for the browns now that we have shanahan because how he 'shaped' the offense around RG3. sorry, i don't think and farmer has said, that that is NOT how you build teams. the TEAM has a system and you draft players that fit that system, not the other way around.
i'll hate the pick but i'll have to root for him as i did with TR and weeden whose picks i also hated (and was right about).

Why's it all hype? Just because you don't like him? You can say that about any QB.
I posted the video because he's a potential candidate for us to draft, he's working for one the most respected QB coaches around and has been for the last two off season. He's got a chip on his shoulder, and busts his ass everyday to improve his craft. Great attribute if you ask me. I like what he brings, and am trying to show you why. His entire life he's been told he can't do this and can't do that, and has proven people wrong over and over....If thats hype then give me The Great White Hype

so I had a couple hours in the car today and listened to the sports station. Apparently Johnny Manziel gave an interview to somebody down in Texas pimping himself to be a high or number one draft pick. Spoke of the Cleveland Browns in particular saying that he would love to be part of the Browns and accompany them on a trip to the Super Bowl. I'm assuming his agents or managers decided that would be a good idea. Seems like the rest of the interview made him sound more like a down to earth hard working and studious professional. Looking to shit can the party boy image and the lone wolf moniker I'm assuming.
Seems to be hard at work studying the offense ive schemes of all the coaches you may be looking for a quarterback so the interview goes well.

merge this with the other manziel thread
BECAUSE
if you've watched espn at all today you'll hear manziel's quote:
"i want everyone from the janitor at reliant stadium to mcnair the owner to say i am 100% can't miss and i want to keep this texas kid in texas."
yeah sounds like to me like he wants to win a superbowl for cleveland.
GTFO.

He said if Houston doesn't draft him it'd be a mistake.
All this self selling hype is certainly alarming.
I disagree with you about Bridgewater though. He's light, but he isn't as big of an injury risk as manziel IMO because he is very good at staying out of harms way.
I'd be pretty satisfied with Clowney, Watkins, or Bridgewater at #4. Especially Clowney.
Manziels comments about Houston make it sound like he'd way rather be in Houston than Cleveland though.

HE CAN HIT CLAY PIGEONS... SIGN HIM NOW!!!!! this hype train has been going on since he won the Heisman

@walterwhite said:
"If something happens, and it's the Cleveland Browns, I'm going to pour my heart out for the Dawg Pound and try to win a Super Bowl for Cleveland," he says. "I don't care if they've had 20 starting quarterbacks since 1999. I'm going to be the 21st and the guy that brought them the Super Bowl." - Johnny Manziel
That settles it, Manziel it is. Shows up to work wearing a barbed wire jock strap.

The rest of the article makes it sound like he'd really like to play in Texas

I bet if we had the first pick it would sound like he couldn't wait to get to Cleveland.

there's already another thread with this shit on it.
can't we just have one big johnny football suck-fest thread?
-
great another brady queef draft party!!!

he's (clowney) by all consideration (at this point) the best player in the draft. period.
drafting him is just a much safer move. of course there'll be people saying "you don't go through life being safe" and in a lot of cases that's true. but i wouldn't gamble my future in a card game with a pair of kings.
hey if farmer thinks he's our guy then i'll trust his judgement over lombardi's.
the thing that bothers me is this almost cult following of little fags that reminds me a lot of what happened with tebow.
let's wait until the combine. hell maybe i'll start sucking for JF if he's THAT good.

Hey, if a circle jerk could bring us a SB Championship, maybe we need to talk about meeting up for a weekend.

I am sure at least a few girls would want to join.....I take dibbs on being between them.
-
If they pass on him let me know when the next QB with this kinda potential and high profile is willing to come to Cleveland...hell there were people here worried he wouldn't even play here.
I love this. This is the kinda stuff that he uses to motivate himself to work and train even harder...the man is right...everyone who passes will be very sorry
-
i guess i'll be crying in my drink.....
when he gets carted off the field in houston.
farmer ain't fallin for this horse shit.
