Haters Proven Wrong Once Again: Mangini
-
Do you really think anyone cares what Mangini is doing now?
-
no, you're right. i guess i'm the only one that thought he was a good coach.
go fuck yourself.

Harbaugh's pants did look pressed last year.

Indeed, those $8 Walmart khakis aren't going to press themselves haha. I honestly couldn't tell if this was a joke or not but I guess you were being serious Mik..

A new President came in, a new GM came in. They ran a different system, they wanted their guy. That was the way it was. That is the way it is.

Is that your favorite word? Can you post without using it? Are you still in Jr. High? Are your friends impressed?no, you're right. i guess i'm the only one that thought he was a good coach.

What if LeBron had never left?
What if the Indians had kept Mike Hargrove?
What if you actually posted something relevant?
-
dude, i'm casting the line.
the pressing of the khakis was the best one so far.
i knew i'd get PoG.
all kidding aside he did get screwed by holmgren, but we all kinda did.

I can't believe people are still talking about Mangini. And then PoG one ups you by mentioning Vickers.
Can't make this shit up if I tried.
you must be the life of the party.

This thread definitely gave me a chuckle.
Mangini definitely didn't get a fair shot here which is a shame because I think anybody would have preferred him over the shurmur and chud that followed. I think he could become a head coach somewhere and do a decent job. More experience with Harbaugh can't hurt. To be fair though, I didn't really like Mangini at the time. I just like him more now because of what we've had since him.
As far as Vickers. He had a decent 5*-year career with us. One pro-bowl year as an alternate. He was a true fullback, but I don't think he's ever been among the best at his position. He was a free agent last year, and is now if we want him back

I think we could do much better than Vickers was. I'd like a guy like vonta leach, mike tolbert, michael robinson. I'm high on that bowling ball J.C. Copeland, but I think everyone is high on him.
Sorry for turning this into a fullback thread 🥷

that year we beat the patriots and the saints....and lost a couple other games by a yd or two in the final seconds, that was the best football played in Cleveland since the mid 90's. The way the AFC North has shook out, i really am confident in saying that if Mangini was still the coach this would have been his 5th year and we would be standing atop the North. I really mean that. 5 years under the same offensive and defensive schemes, I really think our guys would be shining right now. Mangini should still be here if for no other reason than i'm almost 100% positive he would have never drafted Weedon. Not sure he would have drafted Trent either, especially since Hillis and Vickers would have still been on the team. The Browns would look completely different right now.

Five years under Dabolls offense and I'd be a bigger alcoholic than MikGINnTonic
hilarious!
this thread is gaining more yardage than the longest TR run from scrimmage.
i would have hoped that mangini would have seen the light and shit-canned daboll (if he was still there). the public outcry of dabolls ineptness was growing louder and louder each week.

hA!!
it can get nasty in here sometimes but even for my biggest opponents on certain subjects, i still gotta give them love.
this is the only place i get to vent on something that means a lot to me. same as you i'm sure.
in real life it's hard to get a word out of me, cuz i usually have a drink in my mouth..HA!

I like Mangini's philosophy, his discipline.. I think overall he was a pretty good coach.
But a lot of people, myself included tend to romanticize the Mangini tenure and have a pretty good case of selective amnesia.
Some of the shit this guy would do calling games made Pat Shurmur look like fucking Bill Walsh, and let's not even get started on that 09 draft, although I put the most of the blame of that debacle on Lerner.
-
He will never be a NFL head coach again. I can't recall any media reports that he was being considered for a head coaching position these past three seasons since the Brown shit canned him. His players quit on him in Cleveland because he was such a dick head. We are talking about a dude who was a fucking ballboy for the Browns when he was 23 years old. Wouldn't surprise me if we learn he is a Pep Boys co-manager couple years down the road. I'm still hating

Didn't know too much about it, so I looked up a couple of opinion pieces from the time:
http://voices.yahoo.com/review-cleveland-browns-2009-player-draft-3187486.html
Also selected in the second round were Mohamed Massaquoi, wide receiver from Georgia who is known as a good in-the-middle fighter, and David Veikune a defensive lineman from Hawaii who will be a real sleeper.
The first second round pick was Ohio State receiver Brian Robiskie. After watching him at OSU, I believe this is a great pick. He is a disciplined player and route runner. His family is a football family so he has the right background and love of the game. The Dispatch also reported that he has outstanding hands and ball skills.
So, erm, no.

I like Mangini but seriously he is a te coach bro. He's coaching a guy that has already leveled off as far as potential. Shurmur, Crennel, norv, chud, and Horton have all found better jobs a lot quicker than Mangini did. Unless u were blowin all of these guys what's ur point?? Didn't Lerner hire him??? Gotta quit this loser mentality of woulda coulda shouldas.
