  • I think the two best QB prospects are: Manziel and Carr. If I could I would take both of them and let them compete with Hoyer. That would be the best QB group in the NFL. You have to find a Franchise QB outta of the three of them.

Manziel is a scrambler with good passing.

Carr is a gunslinger with good scrambling.

Hoyer is a little of each.

Would make for an awesome group but seems as how you'd have to blow the entire first round and possibly a trade up from 26 to secure both would probably turn a lot of people off to the possibility. But, on the other hand, how many first rounds have we blown since we've come back and still we're missing the Franchise QB? I'd be willing to sacrifice the first and and a pick from the 3rd and 4th rounds this year to ensure that the woes at QB are settled for the next 10 years... wouldn't you?

As usual. he's not listening. Same website- I already told him Carr's mechanics go to hell the second he feels pressure. Wee-done looked great busting clay pigeons on Sports Science.

His crush on Carr has gone from funny and kinda cute, to downright creepy to where I fear for Carr's well being....

good job with that thread this morning not knowing it was costner on nfl network, ready to run to the hills because you thought that was our draft board.

what a dumb little faggot you must be.

  • For anyone that thinks being able to read a college defense translates into being able to read a NFL defense (even in the SEC), good luck with that. The biggest change between college play and the NFL is the defense. Whether or not a college QB can read a defense is one of the weakest arguments to have. Smart, focused, and diligent are better measures of a college QB's ability to transition to reading NFL defenses. Those also happen to be some of Manziel's weaknesses. Manziel seems to be more focused on being Johnny Football than anything else.

Smart, focused, and diligent ARE JF's biggest ON THE FIELD qualities outside of his innate playmaking ability when a play breaks down. I think MANY people are confusing jf's decision to take advantage of all he can and spending all his time to promote himself. There is time to focus on football and jonny cementing his futire financially. Its simply not one or the other, hes doing whats offered to him. I say go for it.

I keep seeing articles about jf hanging out with this person or that person but hes only getting that coverage because its him. Other players do the exact same thing and never even get a breath spoken to it. Other players arent spending 24 hours a day in some imaginary nfl playbook they dont have. Jonny is living his life exactly the same way the other top prospects are (doing what they want while getting ready for the draft). Jonnys lifestyle is just more in the media because espn thinks it will get views (and it will).

If youre going to knock jf, do it about football. Watch the tape, I see the best qb in this draft, with the most "follow me to war" mentality (im a sergeant in the army) ive EVER seen a qb display. Its an obvious risk for his size and injury potential but I really dont see how you pass on this kid.

Your last 2 sentences say it all & I see the same. Besides his skill, there is no one in this draft who says LEADER more than Manziel.

How can you pass on a player, who has had zero major injuries, on fear of injury? Players who have played his position at his size in the past dont seem to have injury problems, while bigger guys still get hurt. No matter whowe draft were gonna have to teach em to protect themselves, even Bortles.
  • notice how the xbox generation loves JF?

that and all the under-sized people in the world because he makes them feel like if JF can do it, they can too.

  • C'mon now, Im bigger than Johnny.....but I do love me some xbox. Better than watching two and a half men when I get off.

How can I pass on him? Do you think I made that injury risk stuff up? Har, har. Manziel's running style is totally reckless. Can he learn to tone it down? Maybe, maybe not.

I'm not arguing about JF any more.

  • @mike-h said:

Elway's running style was reckless. He even held the ball like a load of bread like JF. He was a twig, too, barely heavier than Manziel but 3 inches taller. Surprised he didn't get killed, a lot of guys were roided up back then and the rules were less strict.

I can do this until May.

Mike it's going to be like the Western Front (for those who actually read their history books). The lines are drawn up, and no one is going to say anything at this point that's going to change anyone's mind about JF.

  • @mike-h said:

    Let's argue about punters, then.

    Is Tom Tupa available?

Har, if Mack leaves, we can argue plenty about what round we need to draft a center in. 🙂

  • @walterwhite said:

What the fuck are you talking about?

    He's never been injured.

In fact it was Zach Mettenbooger who was carrying his leg after getting smacked by Alabama.

If you don't think Manziel can make it through the season, how do you expect Hoyer to do it?

Isn't he smaller QB that runs around a lot?

ANY player can get injured, regardless of size.

Really? Hasn't had an ACL- yet. Just the facts Walter- I don't buy the JF hype.

From ESPN "Which again, brings the conversation back to his play. The adversity he faced this season was mostly of the on-the-field type and in the second half of the season, it became about his health. After a terrific start, Manziel suffered a right shoulder injury against Auburn, a throwing hand injury against Mississippi State, and he seemingly hurt his ankle against Missouri (or perhaps aggravated an earlier injury to it). By season's end, the nation's most electrifying player began to look human."

Ring a ding. The SEC isn't the NFL. He plays hurt- great- he's gonna get hit three times harder in the big boy league.

Okay, Walter. It's time to sing the "I'm so sorry" song....
