  • hoyer up talking. what a fuckin class act.

"want the best qb to play for this team, if johnny beats me out then i know he deserves and i had given all i could."

the reporters are going to be a pain in the ass this camp. what a bunch of fucking idiots.

  • For those of you that watch Deadliest Catch, Johnny reminds me of Elliott Neese, Capt. of the Saga. For those of you that don't watch it, that wasn't a compliment.

The media in general is a groveling pile of hypocritical annoying jizz bags.

    Fuck the media.

  • the first question some asshole asked manziel after manziel had kinda said he wasn't going to talk about the off the field stuff was "hey johnny, why were you rolling up the $20 bill?"

    doh!

they just dogged him out about what he had to say about how he liked to go out in the off-season and hang with his friends and yet now they are repeating his part of the press conference for the second time since it ended.

In this case something involving the words "reap" and "sow" comes to mind...

    Johnny the dickfaced midget.

Still reminds me of Tarkenton though ... and for you youngsters ... that's a good thing.

... unless you actually want to win one... 😮

    From SNL Season 2 Episode 13 - 01/29/77

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen -- Fran Tarkenton!

Fran Tarkenton: Uh, thank you. Thank you very much. Uh, now I'm not going to predict how this show will turn out. Uh -- [ he laughs ] You know, I've never hosted a TV show before, and I really don't have the best track records... as far as predictions go. Before the Superbowl, I kind of made a fool of myself. I got on national television, and told the whole world the Vikings would definitely win the game. And, as you probably know, we... were narrowly defeated. Uh -- [ he laughs ] by a very, very lucky Oakland team.

Uh -- before we go any further, I'd like to say something about the kind of people here on "Saturday Night". They asked me to do this show a week before the Superbowl, and, uh -- I thought if we lost the game, "Saturday Night" would be well within their rights to, uh, call me the next day and cancel. Well... [ he chuckles ] I was wrong, and, uh, they called me at Half Time.

Now, I want everyone to know -- especially you Vikings fans out there -- that the Vikings aren't dead yet. [ the audience cheers ] Uh -- we're a team, uh, built on pride and discipline. And, next July, we're going back to Mankato, Minnesota -- we're gonna work harder than ever. We're gonna put on those bonnets and purple jerseys, and strap those little shoulder pads on, and I guarantee ya' that... we'll BE in that Superbowl next season! And I predict... we'll lose again.

[ the audience applauds the joke ]

Well Tour- let me put it to you this way- did everyone else come out in "Team issued apparel?" Who the hell does he think he is? JFF? If you want to wear World Cup gear, get the fuck outta here and play for Aston Villa. The 6:30 crawl on BSPN said Haslam told the coaching staff in June to tell Manzel to tone it down. I don't know about you, but I'd say 99.9% of the workforce would get fired in short order if they flipped off the guy who writes their paycheck.

well if he wants to be a team player and professes it's all about the browns and what's best for the team, wear your team gear.

i think he's setting it up for when he puts out his own line/brand that we'll get used to seeing him wear his own shit sorta like tiger woods w/the TW logo and the nike swoosh.

difference is how's it gonna sell or how is nike gonna keep you if you don't perform and quit being a clown off the field. you wouldn't know it but they have standards too.

    true.

half the stuff we see on social was planned by JF. the other half i'm sure he wish wasn't taken (pics) but if you put yourself out there like that...what do you expect? he said he did it in the 'off-season'. let's see if he can keep it in his pants during the 'football' season.

Good point! And here is another one which most of you will throw up in your mouth over. Now, I know that you all are absolutely certain that Big Ben is a rapist but that is simply because he is a Steeler. Johnny's behavior is just like the behavior that got Ben in trouble......except it's way more blatant.....think about it!

It took big ben to crash face first in a windshield off his bike, rape in a bathroom to make him realize what he is fucking up (career)to go on the straight and narrow. I think manziel is going to need a shot of real fucking reality to make him simmer down.

    Zomblow,

from a strictly commercial point of view one could pretty much expect Hoyer to start. This is not really in depth football analysis. The thought process is both logical and hedge insurance.

    1) Hoyer looked like the real deal - Start him and if that is so, there is no downside.

    2) Start Hoyer and at least 1/2 the fans will be happy in seeing him get a fair chance

    3) The other half, who want Manziel to start will accept it, telling themselves that the rookie needs some time to learn the system. ( Only idiots think a player cannot perform well unless he learns "the system", but that's that fans believe)

    4) If Hoyer blows, Manziel fans will eventually be happy when he starts.

in this manner, Ownership has a mostly happy fan base regardless of who performs or who blows.

Exactly right Tom. Been watching the goings on today courtesy of ESPN, live from training camp. Interviews with Hoyer, Manziel, & Pettine. Herm Edwards chimed in with exactly what I've been saying for the past month. The Browns start the season @ Squealers, Saints @ home, Ravens @ home. (BTW, if you can make it up for the Ratbird game the whole crew is gonna be there). Hoyer plays at least tolerable in those games- JF sits. Hoyer play like the naysayers think- and sucks- Manziel get the call from the Bullpen after the bye. No fan outside of Cleveland is going to give the Browns much chance in winning those first three anyway.

BTW, the interview with Pettine, and other stuff today- Mike was concerned about the rolled up bill in the bathroom. Him, Farmer and Haslam all talked to Manziel before Camp opened- and the message was clear- start acting more like LeBron and Tom Brady off the field, not some guy on a college frat binge.

Sorry boys, but I don't need a thing "put to me". I never endorsed JM's wardrobe choice, just said that Schlereth and the lesser Hasselbeck (not counting Elizebeth) were making too big of a deal out of it.

There were a few others (not many) who also wore "civies", but none was even mentioned by name let alone dwelled upon...

Meanwhile back at the competition... a couple observations...

Ever notice that in the side-by-side QB drills BH drops deeper, hits his back leg (the "injured" one) earlier and gets rid of the ball sooner than JM every time?

Also noteworthy is BH's over-the-top delivery vs. Johnny Sidearm... 3/4 sidearm anyway...
