    Ha.

If this is true, he's about the same size as Mark Sanchez.

    From a Kiper conference call:

Add in that McShay's predicting that Brown's not even 6'2", and you've got a guy who doesn't fit the physical profile of a Mangini 3-4 OLB, much less a 4-3 DE.

Should be interesting to see how much weight he's able to put on by the Combine & whether it affects his 40 time and performance in LB drills.

    6'2, 225?

    Can he play RB?

Shit. I'm willing to be most of y'all on this board weigh more than Brown. Me? I'm a lithe 185.

Brown will be a-slippin' down the boards...

This is crazy. The shortest I've seen him said to be is 6'3", and 6'3 1/4 ".

He was 235 as a freshman.

    And this from

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft/...09%26id%3d24695

    Height: 6'3"

    Weight: 252 lbs

    College: FLORIDA STATE

    Flag: N/A

    Overall Rank: 16

    Position Rank: 3

Brown has all the physical tools (Dec18)

Brown is as good as any pass-rusher Scouts Inc. has seen this season. He has a smooth outside-in move that uses a subtle head fake, has great leaping ability and as a run defender shows the athleticism to recover when he makes a bad read. And while we did not see him drop into coverage in the film we studied, Brown has the speed and athletic ability to make the move to outside linebacker at the next level a possibility. His one weakness is that when he gets to the quarterback he is sometimes too intent on stripping the ball and does not concentrate enough on getting the quarterback to the ground.

Brown wouldn't be the first player to have trouble keeping his weight up during the season. But if he's dropping from 238 to 225, he's a marginal fit for 3-4 OLB.

He could be a great situational rusher in a Jim Johnson style defense. But if this is true, I have a hard time seeing him as a fit for Mangini's defense.

In press guides, Allen Iverson is 6'0" and Shaq weighs 320 lbs.

    The Combine is the Truth.

Yeah, we'll find out soon enough.

He certainly looks bigger than 235.

i hope he's not. it would cross him straight off our boards, which would be distinctly in our favor. he's not going to be good, and the further we can distance ourselves from possibly taking him, the happier i'll be.

So many have a set mold a player needs to be to be able to perform, in the case of a lineman yes you have to have some weight to throw around 6'2" 225 is not that big of a deal unless he is projected to play inside. Molds are meant to be broken, by those who play with a lot of heart and have a the desire to make an impact.

I will take an undersized overachiever anyday of the week over some of these so called studs, where 9 out of 10 end up only to be average.

    He isn't an overachiever.

I know he is a good player to be had at #5, but can he spell his name? 😆

Just read that Brown recently weighed in at 255 lbs.

Either the 225 was a typo, or he ate at Carl's Jr. for dinner. Ba dum ching.

    255 makes way more sense.

I guess we will know his height and weight real soon when he goes to the combine.

If Curry is gone, who prefers the pick be Maualuga ? (assuming a trade down and both were still available...)

Mike Mayock's taken Brown out of his top 5 OLB rankings:

    • 1. Aaron Curry, Wake Forest

    2. Brian Orakpo, Texas

    3. Brian Cushing, Southern California

    4. *Aaron Maybin, Penn State

    5. Larry English, Northern Illinois

Don't know why. It's bizarre that he wouldn't have someone widely considered to be a top 15 pick ranked in the top 5 at his position.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

I've got this gut feeling Brian Orakpo is going to be a beast in a 4-3 as a DE.

I think he's not going to be able to make the transition to OLB in a 3-4.

As far as Brown goes, NO MORE TWEENERS IN THE FIST ROUND!!!!!!!!!

They require development time and usually don't start to shine until 3-4 seasons in and you need help NOW with your first rounder.

shawne merriman and demarcus ware, much? both of them were beasts off the bat and have continued to be so since. it's more so that a few guys transition well and most others don't.

besides, most pass rushers don't pan out. that's why they're such a rare and valuable commodity.

Perhaps he's one of those London Fletcher types who can just play.

I think the little guys (ala DQ and London) are able to overcome their lack of size by being adept at cleaning up the mess, as it were. An edge rusher like Brown, if he were that little, would get manhandled.
