My guess is we don't mind keeping Shanahan and this is all just blowing up from nothing.

I think he showed many good things and many bad things. My guess is we wouldn't mind someone else and could prefer it, but only if he takes another job so we don't have to pay him.

I think Shanahans scheme is pretty good, but the play calling and execution on some of them was questionable.

People complain about the cuteness of passing of 3rd and short constantly but weren't we still a top 5 team on 3rd and short this year conversion percentage wise?

If Shanahan could get players that can successfully operate in the ZBS he'd look better, but once Mack went down we lost it.

and that's a big problem. I understand a drop off but it's like the next guy up didn't belong in the NFL. Your backups on every position need to be people who won't be utterly manhandled out of their shoes when they get in there.

Depth doesn't come in one off season. At least not at every unit.

that o line's been around now for a few. What if, god forbid, JT were to go down? Who would we move over to LT? Schwartzz? Dear god

    Bitonio.

    They'll address it I'm sure.

  • i think tailoring anything for manziel at this point, is not goint to happen.

manziel and gordon are on thinner ice than an ice fisherman on the hudson.

one more screw up from either of them and you can count them GONE.

what a fucked up football organization this is...good lord...

  • I was fine with shanny's play calling. Beginning of the season it was working when Hoyer was apparently not Retarded.

So you believe that the reason for the second half decline is because Hoyer went Retarded? Based on that when exactly did you become handicapped? You don't suppose it had something to do with Mack going to IR and teams having a better handle on how to game plan him?

If Shanny leaves, Brian Sipe is available. Just fired as SD st. Qb coach.

Here we go Brownies, here we GO,AGAIN.. Yes we all remember a lot of Shanny's play calling from when we use to play, But it's Stay the Course and player's execute the plays or Scrap it and Learn A New System. Anybody see us running a Chip Kelley Offense Yet. Who's out there to replace Shanny??

Who cares? Not only will you have a learning curve and a tough as hell schedule you need personnel no matter what system you run. Bitching about the play calling has been going on forever. Personally I would call nothing but 20 yard runs 40 yard passes and touchdowns

And keep in mind the accuracy and quality of the reporting we get on a regular basis. (remember the reports that it was Shanahan who wanted Johnny to start and was being overruled by Mike?) If someone offers Shanahan a head coaching job of course he would want it. If his old man gets a head coaching job on a team that seems poised for a championship of course he would want the OC job and could easily get it even if the Browns try to block him by being designated assistant head coach.

aren't we jumping to conclusions here?

Hoping Shanny stays, but if not...

Weis is an interesting name. Train wreck HC, but damn good OC in the Erhardt-Perkins vein for 5 years at NE.
