As I watched the Seahawks Russell Wilson last night I kept thinking there is no reason for Manziel to look as bad as he did this year.

I was thinking the same thing.

JF going into rehab can only help matters. Probably can't get worse.

Sometimes I say that Rehab is only for quitters.

In this instance, I hope this 'quitter' get his act together and performs as hoped/expected.

    Wait... MKC broke this news?

I choose to look at his entering rehab as a courageous, positive step.

    Good luck Johnny!

It may be, Mike... also may be a calculated move... also may have been dictated by the Browns as a condition of continued employment.

    Stay tuned...

  • It was just some of our layman opinions that his actions contradicted his words,

which indicated that he might very well be an alcoholic, or something.

It's a great thing that he realizes his self-destructive behavior earlier on than many do.

If he gets himself straighened out, good for him, I'm bigtime willing to give him

a second chance. A third or a fourth, not so much likely. Hopefully, he will honestly

change his life for the way, way better, off the field as well as on the field.

  • They say he drinks a case of Root Beer every night Cal...

  • Oh, and Tour, that's a solid point, I hope if it had been dictated

    by the Browns....

that he wouldn't have gone so soon. I was wondering, btw, what happened...

    he was below the radar....

  • They say he drinks a case of Root Beer every night Cal... DH

    *******************************************************

A man, or woman, has to have self-discipline and honor in their life.

Manziel can't stay away from it, then he'll just have to realize he can't

    drink root beer anymore....

  • just to play the devil's advocate: that's the first thing you do if you want to impress the PR team when the public thinks you're an alcoholic. Example, you get busted for DUI, which there is no evidence he has but, and you check yourself into a a immediately. By the time your court case comes up you can tell the judge honestly that you voluntarily answered Alcoholics Anonymous and have been attending your meetings regularly. Makes it easier for your attorney to get you off the hook. If he believes he has a problem and is intent on overcoming it excellent. If its for show?

I am guessing there's a playbook and a quarterback coach to work with as well?

I hear ya, Steve. At first I thought of this as little more than a 'Hollywood Rehab' where, like you say, it tries to absolve one from criticism - or even blame - for behaviors they committed.

On the other hand, ESPN broke the story today - maybe the NFL mandated they keep it under wraps until after the SB - but it wasn't JF or his camp that made an announcement or held a press conference.

This can't hurt. At least this will keep him out of the bars, at least for a while.

Who says entering a rehab treatment center means being an "alcoholic".

Give it up Steve. The dude is an alcoholic.

I don't understand your comment. Who says entering a rehab treatment center means being an alcoholic? Given the loose definition of alcoholic I would suppose anyone. What's your point?

My point is, you're not a very sharp tool. He was always an alcoholic. I'm sure you're going to draw up some more BS claiming he's in rehab for something else besides alcohol.

    Say what?

  • Well, after watching Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith discuss Johnny on their show, they seem to think Johnny has MORE than an alcohol problem. They seemed to be insinuating drug usage without coming right out and saying so.

Well, he wasn't rolling that dollar bill because it was going to fit better in a stripper's twat.

    Zombo

  • skip bayless is such a prude that anyone drinking a beer is an alcoholic to him.

hell, might as well burn me at the stake now.

I really don't understand the difference between alcohol addiction and addiction of other, similar, dangerous drugs.

If you have a problem, it is probably a general dependency, although I am far from an expert.

    Alcoholic? Maybe

    Expert? No

The problem is that even if he works as hard as any QB in the league I still don't see him being a successful NFL quarterback, hope he proves me wrong.

And your personnel, scouting, coaching experience is..................................

Like me, you are likely little more than a 6-pack, armchair gurul

Too bad Farmer and Co. didn't consult with you first.

My sentiments exactly, it's also too bad that Heckert and Holmgren didn't consult with me before selecting Brandon Weeden.

I've been against the Manziel pick from the beginning. Bridgewater was my guy.

Which one got rookie of the year and which one was nearly run out of town after 6 quarters of the worst

    QB play since the merger?

But it's okay, if you're not an NFL exec. then you can't evaluate talent.

Best leave it to the pros, like the guys who selected Couch, Wynn, McCown, Frye, Quinn, McCoy, Weeden, Manziel....

  • Dude waited until after the Super Bowl so he could party his ass off last night.

Man, you really nailed it there. Bridgewater sure turned that franchise around.

Can't believe they won it all last night. Crazy shit. Good for the Vikings.

  • Cool. Now we will have a clean QB who can't play in the NFL.

    That's what I think.

He could never have another drink or drug for the rest of his life, and he still will suck at QB in the NFL
