Here is a set of Trivia, mostly about Hall of Famers. Try your hand:

    1. Who was the original play by play man for Monday Night Football?

    2. What former NFL MVP and a HOFer became a state Supreme Court Justice?

    3. Who was the last Hall of Fame player to play "both ways" offense and defense, on a regular basis?

    4. Bill Belichick tied Don Shula with coaching in 6 Super Bowls. What was the first Championship game that Don Shula ever coached in?

5.Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the third time. Who is the only other player to be a 3 time SP MVP?

    6. Who is the only person to have been involved in the NFL for the first 50 years of its existance?

    7. Which Quarterbacks who have thrown for 50,000 yards are in the Hall of Fame?

    8. What do these cities and towns represent: Detroit, Dallas, Gladys Va., The Bronx, San Diego, Fort Riley KS, Lexington Nebraska, New Freedom Pa.?

    9. With the new 2015 Class of HOFers, which college is now represented in the HOF that was not previously represented?

    10. There are 32 NFL teams. For only 7 of these does a Hall of Fame running back hold their single season rushing record for most yards gained in a season. Name these 7 teams and the HOF RB who holds those records.

    11. In which draft round were each of the new HOF players drafted:

    Bettis

    Brown

    Haley

    Seau

    Shields

    Tinglehoff

    12. Which Hall of Fame running back became the first player in history to rush for over 200 yards in a game? (yes, you must go way back)

Not sure if it was easy or if it was just right in my wheelhouse ... the one that almost tripped me up was Alan Page ... I saw justice and started writing Byron Whizzer White ... but then I saw STATE ... I knew Page was a judge, a MVP and a HOF. (And from Notre Dame).

But the best guess was that haley was a 4th rounder ... I had no idea, I just picked a round. Should buy some scratchoffs today.

Zombo took all the answers that I knew before I had a chance. Because I'm honest...I knew Keith Jackson, Alan Page, 1964 championship game, and Joe Montana. Had no idea on the rest.

Halftime Report: here are questions still unanswered:

              9. Which college now has a representative in the PFHOF that was not previously represented before the Class of 2015?

              10. There are 32 NFL teams. Only 7 of them have their single season rushing leader as a member of the PFHOF. Name the teams and the runners.

              11. Basically: In which round was Will Shields drafted?

              12. Which HOF running back became the first player in history to rush for over 200 yards in a game?

Here is a set of Trivia, mostly about Hall of Famers. Try your hand:

                  Answers.

                  1. Who was the original play by play man for Monday Night Football?

                  Keith Jackson

                  2. What former NFL MVP and a HOFer became a state Supreme Court Justice?

Alan Page.....in Minnesota (though he attended Canton Central Catholic)

                  3. Who was the last Hall of Fame player to play "both ways" offense and defense, on a regular basis?

                  Check Bednarik

                  4. Bill Belichick tied Don Shula with coaching in 6 Super Bowls. What was the first Championship game that Don Shula ever coached in?

1964 NFL Championship Game. His team , the Baltimore Colts, lost to the team he played for as a player: The Cleveland Browns.

5.Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the third time. Who is the only other player to be a 3 time SP MVP?

                  Joseph Clifford Montana

                  6. Who is the only person to have been involved in the NFL for the first 50 years of its existance?

George Halas. One of the Originators....stayed on as owner of the Bears until his death in 1983.

That is actually 63 years of involvement with the NFL. He was the last person to attend the 1920 meeting at the Huppmobile dealership in Canton Ohio to be alive.

                  7. Which Quarterbacks who have thrown for 50,000 yards are in the Hall of Fame?

John Elway and Dan Marino. #1 and #27 of the 1983 draft. Though 4 other QBs have joined the 50K club: Favre/Peyton/Brees/Brady. But of course none of them are eligible yet. Favre next year. The others still active.

                  8. What do these cities and towns represent: Detroit, Dallas, Gladys Va., The Bronx, San Diego, Fort Riley KS, Lexington Nebraska, New Freedom Pa.?

                  Detroit: Bettis

                  Fort Riley: Shields

                  Lexington: Tinglehoff

                  New Freedon: Wolf

Birthplaces of the newly minted HOFers.

                  9. With the new 2015 Class of HOFers, which college is now represented in the HOF that was not previously represented?

James Madison in Virginia. Alma Mater of Charles Haley. That school had never had a HOFer before Haley. The alma maters of the others have had other Hall of Fame persons go there: Bettis and Brown both Notre Dame. Tinglehoff and Shields both Nebraska, NYU Polian, USC Seau, Oklahoma Wolf.

                  10. There are 32 NFL teams. For only 7 of these does a Hall of Fame running back hold their single season rushing record for most yards gained in a season. Name these 7 teams and the HOF RB who holds those records.

                  Bills: OJ Simpson

                  Bettis

                  Brown

                  Haley

                  Seau

Bettis, Brown, Seau were first rounders, Shields 3rd round, Haley 4th round. Tinglehoff was Undrafted.

                  12. Which Hall of Fame running back became the first player in history to rush for over 200 yards in a game? (yes, you must go way back)

Cliff Battles or the Washington Redskins became the first NFL player to rush for over 200 yards on October 8, 1933. He ran for 215 yards.

A little bit on Tinglehoff: http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/160861/fran-tarkenton-eager-to-present-mick-tingelhoff-at-hall-of-fame

Those Viking teams of the 60's and 70's were amazing, I can still see the breath coming out of the players purple helmets at the Old Met. Moving indoors killed the luster of that franchise, but at least the fans were cozy. They sure had some great teams back in the day ... Jim Marshall belongs in the Hall

I agree with you on Marshall.

And the Vikings will be outside for another year playing at the Gophers stadium (which is right across the street where my son now works) until their new stadium is finished. I had thought perhaps they would go back to open air....but apparently not. It is indoor, but is supposed to be airy, but not exposed.
