I am so fucking sick of the misuse of the word "mistake" as it relates to the Browns. The number of times the word is used out of context for Manziel, Gordon and now Farmer is mind boggling. He didn't make a mistake. He made a concious decision to break the rules and risk penalties for the team. I think it also reinforces the arrogance he sometimes seems to exhibit. If this costs us a draft pick he should be fired. This organization is quickly starting to look like a shady business. I guess I should not be surprised considering the very questionable business ethics of the owner. I have to think there is a pretty strong chance Haslam was involved in the texting hence his support for Farmer. I want to give all these guys the benefit of the doubt but there comes a point when doing so is simply naive. I think we are there.

I agree 100%!! We're turning on Farmer and Haslam when we should be gathering pitchforks and looking for Crybaby Shanny. As for posts by Opal and JCam, while I understand your frustration and agree they need to stop digging a deeper grave, I still believe in this Owner (who wants to win), Farmer (who was praised by many in the NFL last year) and Petine. I believe Gilbert will prove his pre-draft hype next year (JM is still a long shot) and we're going to have a fantastic FA and Draft class. Mark my words.

You blow your two first round picks and then state publicly in the off season that the quarterback situation is far from being settled? What do these guys do for a living? They certainly get paid enough to buy a clue! If they don't get a wide receiver in the first round and the best available that would be the final straw. And when you have an owner as dysfunctional as Haslam you have to hope that the people around him would at least be professionals. It starts at the top and trickles downward. And if all Haslam wants are a bunch of 'yes men" then I don't see Pettine sticking around too long either. What a mess! Is it any wonder why quality coaches would rather take a pass than work for these clowns.

After a disappointing finish to the season one of the first owners in the NFL to show confidence in their HC was Haslam. I think Pettine only had to wait a few minutes after the Ravens game to get a full vote of confidence. I was glad to see him stand by Farmer. I think Haslam has been more than fair with Manziel. As a fan I want to see an owner who is sold out to winning and I believe we have that. If Haslam get's a reputation for treating people fairly and we see some loyalty that goes both ways with Haslam and those who work for him I am real good with that too.
