You weren't here when certain forum members were having a heavy flow over the fact that the Browns didn't take Watkins. They wouldn't shut the fuck up about him. That is why no one wants to hear about goddamn Watkins anymore as it pertains to "oh god my man crush Watkins wasn't picked by Ray Farmer boo hoo" posts.

Also you don't really need a qb to throw the ball. Look at what Gordon did with bums 2 years ago, after missing 2 games he led the league in yards. A bum can throw the ball to someone 5-8 times a game. A good QB can also not throw pics, and make the necessary throws when we need them. He will get his catches, but until they get a qb, they will never be more than a borderline playoff team.

There was legitimate improvement with this team for the first time in a long time and when this got tough, nobody quit on the coaching staff or the team. I'm not a glass half full guy, but there have been some good things around this team since Pettine took over.

they collapsed at the end of the season losing 5 straight...you cannot say they did not quit...when you lose your last 5 games of the season that is not good...we had a qb at the beginning of the season, ended the season with no qb...we still don't have a legit qb...plus many other issues. i don't care what kind of defense we have on the field, they will collapse again due to an inept offense...we have no elite players on offense...and the defense really is not elite either...we have bits and pieces...which is what we always have yr after yr...bits and pieces..i guess we still have some time left for free agency, but i would not bet a friggin penny we get anyone that is have way decent...i hope i am wrong...

So the combination of a sputtering offense and defense mainly from a rash of injuries like we've not seen in a long time means the team got worse?
By seasons end we were using 3rd stringers and had minimal depth on both our lines. It would have been nothing short of a miracle to pull of those wins. Yet the guys kept fighting, played
physical and produced a respectable game for what they could do. Its that simple. I my mind, when you have to reach that deep down for players and they still scratch and claw to the bitter end, that's getting better.
As for not having elite players on offense, we have 3 fucking pro bowlers and a future HOF, all on the left side of our Oline. We have two young, very promising running backs to pair with it. Granted we don't have that bonafide WR or TE any more, but that's not to say we have nothing in those areas.
As for defense - again, injuries withstanding and finishing that well in points allowed is a huge statement. There are multiple elite players at their positions on defense. So, health permitting on the front, they will be able to shine as well.

Ok, Gilbert will be a stud now that HADEN has him down in South Beach teaching him the ropes and stroking his immature ego. So let's get a wide receiver in the first round. Is that too much to expect two years in a row? While I like Hawkins and Hartline we can't pass on a big receiver again. We need a number one.

if you think Browns fans are negative now, just wait until the draft is over and the team still has Gordon on the roster. The biggest problem with this team is that they always talk all this shit about change and then do the same thing that has always been done.

Hearing about him working out with Haden tells me he got the message last year, so I would bet (if we could somehow quantify CB and WR production) that Gilbert + the Browns #1 WR FAR OUTPRODUCE Watkins in 2015... just a hunch...

dude, i really hope you're right. but so far his instagram is flooded with pictures of him and his new wardrobe, and of him drinking in the club with his "boys" this offseason. Hopefully he adds some hard work in the mix too and he just forgot to post that on instagram....
