  • Well if a 300 year old document, and a 2000 year old book have no relevance in today's world then what is the importance of what happened 6000 years ago? Or 6 billion years?

Because if we're just focusing on current achievements and consciousness, then I'll take the brain surgeon over whatever in the fuck it was Brandon Weeden did before he was elected to the Senate & White House.

The point is he believes the world is 6,000 years old. He took all of the evidence out there in the world, and his conclusion was to believe in a 6,000 year old Earth. That screams lack of common sense, reasoning, etc. That is why I wouldn't want him in charge.

This is the guy that thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old, right? I'm sure he's a brilliant surgeon, but a complete lack of reasoning like that makes me not want to have him in charge

It would be interesting to see a set of questions to that end posed to each of the candidates. Like, if you genuinely believe the earth is 6000 years old, as you say, that should pretty much rule you out of running for office IMO.

What difference does it make? To you lefties the belief in a god is clearly just as absurd. Clinton believes in God doesn't she?

Belief in a god is not absurd. Belief the earth is only 6000 years old is absurd. There's a world of difference in between.

  • I like Dr Carson fun but I don't think a preacher stance a chance just from electability standpoint.

Same for Mike Huckabee who I like even better.

I don't think Carson, Cruz, nor Huck are electable.

My feeling is that Rubio or Paul have better chances at beating the Hildebeast.

That is a good position to take and I agree, but that's not what people like Woody think. Either you've never read the religious threads, or you don't know the American liberal.

because if you have a brain that can be talked into a Flintstone like narrative of our history where we were riding dinosaurs and powering crude wagons with our feet....than it rules you out of running a modern country, especially one with the complexity of the U.S. Brain surgeon or not, if he really does believe in a 6k old universe, stupid is as stupid does then.

So is that a good thing or bad? Try and be honest.

What was most repulsive about this wench after Benghazi was when she approached the family of one of those slain and said..."don't worry, we'll get the guy who made that video".

The original is is worse than Bengahzi. Her dealings in Egypt with nudging the Arab Spring along, and helping remove Quadaffi and then bragging about it set the region on fire.

If Hillary/Obama doesn't help depose Quadaffi then Stevens and the seals don't have to be snooping around for Quadaffi's weapons cache and there is no Benghazi.

Continued meddling in the Middle East brings to mind Einsteins definition of insanity.

Oh stop...you're just a religiophobe, and a theophobe. Yeah Googled them ...fear of religion and fear of a god.

You lefties love throwing around "phobia" labels right?

    I was being completely sarcastic.

Oh, thanks for saying what I think... Haha.

I've never said it is crazy to believe in a god. I just don't agree with the belief that we need one to be where we are now.

Yes, I don't like religion. Yes, I think we'd be better off without it as a whole. But I know very smart people, my friends, that consider themselves Christian.

There is a wide range of "belief" levels in my mind. The more literally you believe an old book, the more you shun modern science, the less I think you're suitable for running a modern country. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus, you think he was a great guy and we should learn from the bible metaphorically, then go for it. That's not crazy in my mind and wouldn't limit your ability to reasonably lead. I still think we'd be better off without it as a whole, but I'd hope you could understand the difference.

Pray for rain? Think noahs arc actually happened? Think the earth is 6,000 years old? No thanks.

Believe in a god. Believe in the general teachings of Jesus. Etc? I may not personally agree, but it wouldn't outright limit you from running a country

    Understand?

couldn't agree more. It seems like neither the dems or the reps have the balls to stand up to the hawks that really run the country and say we're done with that fucking Shiite hole. Fuck the arabs, fuck the Israeili's fuck them all.

Huckabee is on that "good ole boy, listen to Bubba, Real America" kick, right? No thanks. I know every politician panders, but that's just too much.

  • Also, after reading comments in this thread and others, I wonder what the reaction would be if posters on here actively referred to Palin as a slut, bimbo, etc. Just kind of funny to me.

What was Huckabee's guvenatorial track record? Good?

Scott Walkers Guvenatorial Track Record? Good?

Kasich's? He did right the ship financially.

How about Gary Johnson's guvenatorial track record? The best off all of them?

A governors track record is relevant if he/she gets elected president and uses those same policies on a national scale.

  • I just thought Mike Huckabee thought on his feet and spoke well. Never seemed to be on the political fringe to me and was an affable cadidate. I'm assuming Woody knows little or nothing about him but thats to be expected.

Again I fear he's not electable.

As for the religious aspect I guess you need to decide what do your prefer someone who believes in it or lies about it. because of Barack Obama believed the s*** at the Church he attended week after week after week, well you understand. And none of his acolytes care about that.
