But Ben didn't get suspended for rape.

What did he get suspended for? Bad judgment?

    First offense????....ha!

more likely it's his THIRD or FOURTH offense.....

The new NFL policy for weed is:

1st offense = strike one and admission into the drug program

    2nd offense = strike 2 and a 2 game fine

    3rd offense = strike 3 and a 4 game fine.....

    4th offense = strike 4 and a suspension upto 4 games.....

so, assuming they are following policy, Bell has already had 3 fails......

You aren't smart. He got pulled over IN a CAR which got him a DWI or whatever the hell they call it now. He didn't have to take a piss test as his DUI was based on weed.

I don't know about Pa.....but in Ohio the offense is technically called OMVI (Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence). (but people still just say DUI)

And yes, it can be for either alcohol or other drugs.. And just like with alcohol the concentration level of marijuana must be at a certain level......but YES....a person does have to give urine or blood in order to measure for marijuana. The BAC machines only measure alcohol.

This is the relevent portion or the Ohio Revised Code 4511.19 re levels:

(vii) The person has a concentration of marihuana in the person's urine of at least ten nanograms of marihuana per milliliter of the person's urine or has a concentration of marihuana in the person's whole blood or blood serum or plasma of at least two nanograms of marihuana per milliliter of the person's whole blood or blood serum or plasma.

That's about the extent of it.

C'mon Gipp you know better than that. Ben was never charged with rape.

Yes, I do I know that. That is why I asked what specifically he was suspended for.

    An appropriate song for him:

Gipper not the point but I'm not surprised you are in here spinning it like you just joined a pottery class. Bell isn't on his 3rd or 4th offense. He was pulled over, the car smelled like weed and he had it in his system. He's being suspended because of the dui and because goodell is a dumb ass also being punished under both the new and old policy. Don't be surprised if he gets a one game but I expect a two.

I wasn't "spinning" anything. I don't give a shit about what violation Bell is on.

I was correcting you about your statement that a person being charged with OVI for marijuana consumption did not have to drop urine or have blood taken to have that substance tested for.

Would you really like to dispute me on that? If so, demonstrate how many DUI cases you have defended.....or how many you have served as the hearing magistrate on. Can you do that?

And demonstrate this new technology that police departments have come up with to measure drugs in one's system without having to use urine or blood.

Also not the point. He didn't have to take a NFL piss test. I thought my context was pretty easy to follow considering he was talking about the levels of the new NFL drug policy.

No, you were not clear....at all. You said he didn't have to take a piss test because his DUI was based on weed.

Wellllllll I meant as far as league testing was concerned. I didn't believe it was that difficult to follow. There isn't a field sobriety test for weed or a breathalyzer.

You make it sound like it was a non sequiter. It wasn't. You are talking about his OVI conviction and you said he didn't have to take a urine test. In the context of your statement it was concluded that you were talking about his legal case, not the NFL rules. Try not to confuse yourself and the rest of us along with you in the future.

Jesus. It wasn't that confusing. Mudfly implied he was likely on his 3rd or 4th offense which is fucking ridiculous. The end. (For me at least, I'm sure you will type to yourself another hour)

Sorry that you cannot express yourself clearly. I guess it is that Kent State education. Akron U taught us how to elucidate properly.

Thanks Gip, I sort of lost my train of thought after admiring that pic you posted.

  • I have no love for the Steelers, but for cryin' out loud, it really is about time to end the war on weed! Perhaps then the NFL will really rethink its stance on marijuana use! I'm sure a lot of players dabble in it, and probably use it as an alternative to combat the pain they receive from getting the shit beat out of them on the field throughout the course of their career! It beats the alternative of some of the pain meds and other shit that current players and former players get jacked up on!

The league can make whatever rules they want. They are a bit draconian. Come November here in Ohio the medicinal AND recreational use of marijuana will likely be legalized.

(does anyone think that measure will fail?)

  • I don't care what happens to them. I only hope we play them twice in the first three games

I do. While a growing majority of Ohioans do support some form of legalization, I think it will take a couple of times being on the ballot to pass. Look how long it took for allowing gambling in the state. At any rate, I hope it does pass, and I fully support repealing the un-Constitutional federal ban on cannabis as well! Perhaps it will then free up LE to focus on real crimes and real criminals!

So! People drink to get drunk, which is actually a lot worse and causes a lot more harm to the body than cannabis. Not to mention how belligerent people can get after they drink too much. They don't call them beer muscles for nothin'! You don't usually see so-called stoners getting all belligerent after a couple of tokes! At any rate, if people want to smoke a little weed be it to simply unwind, or relieve pain, who gives a flying fuck?
