The minute someone mentions Terrele Pryor a thread dies.
It used to be Troy Smith.
These guys were given up on early in the NFL for a reason.

Except Pryor is still on an NFL roster, he hasn't been given up on.

He's on his third roster.
Because he is not starter material.

He wasn't released, he was traded to Seattle for a bag of cashews,
Then Seattle cut him.
Then the Bengals, Eagles, Giants and Redskins worked him out but passed.
And now KC signed him January after he sat out the entire 2014 season with no one picking him up to even hold a clipboard.
Can we move on?

Either way Pryor has shown all the signs of being better then Manzeil. Since the reality is JFF wouldn't trade for a 7th rounder

That's what we need: a QB that "asked out", got traded for a 7th rounder, got cut, failed four tryouts, sat out an entire season, and is now at the bottom of some other teams preseason depth chart ... as opposed to giving our first round pick from last year another chance after two starts.

No no you're both wrong and foolish, what we REALLY need is Tim Tebow. Right? Huh? Anyone?

You forgot to add low to no impulse control to pryor's problems. Even at college level he had accuracy issues. He'd make a good receiver or bulked up to a tight end but NFL qb? nope.

The ONLY reason we are giving JFF another chance is BECAUSE WE DRAFTED HIM IN THE 1ST ROUND! I don't know what you were watching but Connor Shaw performed better then JFF and I know Pryor would too. JFF doesn't deserve any of our time especially the time of Coach Pett.

I feel like we are talking to a child. Pryor might as well hang up the cleats bro.
Manziel just needs to get off the sauce and commit himself to football and I think he'll show us all why we drafted him
-
Whatever you say,
-
Manziel still a short, poor decision maker with an average arm but at least he's ours

If Manziel can be developed into being a good NFL quarterback I don't see him being in a better position than he is in right now going forward. Coming out of rehab he should be much more mentally focused than he was before and thinking clearly.
He will have a quarterback coach, Kevin O'Connell who said this about JM: "Johnny Manziel is able to do things on a football field that very few people can do, whether they're mentally ahead of other players at the position or not,' " O'Connell said, per The Plain Dealer "... If he can find a way to match that with his football knowledge and growing as a veteran in the NFL -- and it's going to take him some time -- but if he can find a way to do it, the sky is the limit." So JM is going to have a quarterback coach who has worked with him last year and believes he can be developed.
JM will have an offensive coordinator in Defilippo who knows what it takes to be an NFL quarterback today. it is going to take total dedication and commitment:
"The coach said that Manziel “needs experience playing the game at this level” if he’s going to improve, but that there’s also a mental aspect that requires a commitment on the quarterback’s part.
“It’s truly a lifestyle to be an NFL quarterback,” DeFilippo said on ESPN 850 WKNR. “It’s not just a job. It’s all-consuming. You need to sleep, eat, do everything fast and just think about football all the time. The great ones have an obsession with it. You watch the Peyton Mannings and the Drew Brees and the Aaron Rodgers, those guys are obsessed with football. And you talk about quarterback lifestyle, in our very first meeting that’s what we’re going to talk about with those guys.”
Manziel is also going to have a great mentor in Josh McCown:
McCown told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Friday that he plans to embrace the role of mentoring Johnny.
"Just life in general is too short to go through it alone or just looking out for yourself all the time," McCown said, per ESPN.com. "So if you can give up yourself to others to help someone else in their journey, I just think you'll find so much more peace in life. So that's my approach when I head into a quarterback room. It's just what can I give back to the guys around me to help us be better? Because ultimately it's going to help our team.
"Johnny is a person, and every person that I come across has value to me and they matter, and so I want to help him as much as I can with all parts of it, but to grow as a person and as a player and to help him go on and have a fruitful career."
There are respected Browns players who believe JM can be a good NFL quarterback: Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack told Sirius XM NFL Radio that he believes Johnny Manziel can be the team's long-term solution at quarterback.
Joe Haden said Manziel looked like Johnny Football to him in practice, and Dansby, who was also doing interviews here Wednesday on radio show, stressed that Manziel gave the defense good looks in practice.
"He makes plays with his feet,'' said Haden. "He makes things happen. He's a very exciting player. He was throwing the ball really well. I didn't really see that (he wasn't practicing well).''
I am looking forward and hoping JM can be a good quarterback for the Browns. This is his time if it is going to happen.

I remember saying the exact same thing about Weedon when he got Norv Turner as his OC. If he has the ability to succeed, he'll show it this year with Norv working with him. Well, we all know how that worked out. Hopefully this time it works out better for the Browns.

Awesome... Mack is probably going to waive his opt-out tomorrow.

His arm's not really average. The rest is accurate.

Are you saying better or worse then average?
When he was at A&M I thought he had a big arm but in the NFL he does not seem to have that. Maybe I was wrong about him in college.
-
Everyone said he had a big arm during the draft process last year.
